i’ve been watching a lot of 3d printing vids and this one was recommended to me by the algorithm. It looks really cool, but i found myself having to look at your channel vids to try and see if there was a video explaining what exactly this unit is doing / why its unique. might be helpful to include a quick short blurb about what it is at the beginning of each vid to help segway new potential subscribers more seamlessly into your content :) keep up the great work!
Looking forward to the inclusion of the Nitehawk SB as I am planning a build of Misschanger using that toolhead board. The great support of your project is greatly appreciated.
21:50-21:55 for the moment that porky pig enters the overdub studio. Ahabadehabadeehabaduuuuuuhhhh that's misschanger!! Haha But seriously this product is turning out to be amazing dude, great work!! 👏🏻
Amazing!!!!
That's great
Thanks you!
I print PETG and ABS on my 2.4 by only decreasing bed/nozzle temp by 10-20C. No other changes. No issues with PETG with chamber temps. I used to think like you did and had exhaust vent air but it does not matter.
PETG is the in-between kind of filament. It is printable between 30C and 40C chamber temp, depending on the brand. But, PLA is a no-go at that temperature range
What's the effective build volume when the dock's installed?
230x350x250 mm
If I understand correctly, your trap door mod replaces the stock removable air duct and exhaust slider with something that's a little faster and easier to use? Do you find that in exhaust mode, it provides sufficient cooling to the chamber to print PLA without removing panels?
Q1, Yes. Q2, Yes. It is not as good as without the panel. The chamber temp stabilise at 30C, which is workable with PLA but not as good as if it is at room temperature, 22C.
@@vinny5915 Thanks!
What is the thickness of the top panel you installed? The PCBWay is listed as 3mm. Is it acrylic as well or PC? Does it feel solid or sag any? You may want to cannibalize the nevermore micro and use the ellis bed fan mod. I did the same as you for a few weeks after installing a stealthmax (back panel though; I have a second top-mount printed that I haven't installed). The ellis bed fan setup circulates noticeably better. So well, in fact, you have to have a custom ramp-up time based on bed temp so you don't warp your bed.
The top panel is 3mm acrylic. I am using a modded flow chamber design for the NMSM, which bolted it in place with 7 M3 bolts. Thus, the NMSM actually adds to the structural integrity of the panel instead of causing any noticeable sagging.
I like how you handled the umbilical cables. Can you release the files for the mounts that you have for the cables coming up from the base and for the retractable things that are holding them up from above?
It is in the github repository
I wonder if I could use this without a voron tap or is it much better with
The version in this video is out of date. Nevertheless, the latest version will still need voron tap rail. It is required for the probing function
Could I use a klicky probe?
I have been waiting for someone to do this. I always thought it was stupid that the gantry has to go all the way to the top just to swap toolheads.
that's not wasting that much build volume tho. Everything has its pros and cons
It depends on the geometry. If you were to print even two benchies at the same time you wuold see improvment in layer adhesion and overall quality of layer cooling.
Love your work and your transparency on the projects you do !!
Like I havent even seen a single statement of what this is or why it is
This looks cool where is the guide
It is in the Github repository, link in thw description
this 3d printer looks expensive?
you can build a standard Voron 2.4 R2 for ~$1000. Most of the printer is printed. that's without the multiple print heads though
Additional tool-head is ~$200 each, then add another ~$200 for the additional fans and electronics.
какая гигантская батарея отопления, мужик, ты на северном полюсе живешь?
Yeah 😂. I told my landlord the same thing.

Shame input shaper is effected horribly :(
Hehehe, indeed. However, after playing with multi-material for the past few months, I can confidently say that, as a community, we don't have the knowledge base to do multi-material at speed yet.
@@vinny5915as far as tool changing, I can’t speak to that personally. But it seems like regular stealthchanger when optimized is capable of relatively high speed. Btw not meaning to diminish your work on this, I love the idea.
The Octopus (or any other boards) will not be used to control the toolheads. The toolheads are controlled via the BTT U2C board. You can visit the github repo for the details on wiring.
Thanks! What is this sort of plyer you use as a vise to pressfit the magnets ? It looks very convenient.
Those are Knipex parallel pliers
So whats the benefit of this over stealthchsnger? Everything ive seen/read indicates Stealth Changer is better. More tollheads, better IS, more compact design/less bulky, more successful users, better documentstion, etc. Like i get wanting to develope an alternative, but whats the point if its the reheaded stepchild of stealthchanger?
Performance-wise, if those are the criteria that you are looking for then just go for SC. It is a very cool project. I would in fact recommend it over MC, due to the fact there is a team behind instead of a single person. MC (as a project) is more focus on reliability. It retains the Voron-Tap MGN9H rail for probe accuracy. This is a design trade-off, worse IS but better first layer reliability. And, from my experience with multi-material so far, it is too early to try going faster regardless of whatever system you are on. MC is also designed around the workflow of upgrading an existing printer, using parts printed on that same printer, with rooms for errors and chances to reverse course if needed. Even after completion, you can still switch back to a single toolhead setup in less than a minute and without any tool.
Gtfooooooo impressive
Great work keep it up.
Great work!!
does this tool changer require you to have canbus or can it be setup without one?
I am using canbus, it is the simpler approach at the moment. For USB a connection additional hardware are needed and needs to be jerry rigged together.
I have no clue why UA-cam Short decided to make the video look like that 😅
This is so damn cool what the hell man 😭 amazing work
clean !, well done mate !
Glad you like it!
Great project. This could end up being a better solution than the Prusa XL.
Hahaha... no, 😅. If anything, this helps explains the design decisions that were made for the XL; in term of reliability and the fact that the XL did not come with an enclosure.
forgive me for being slow... the tool changer is at the bottom of the printer, so when tool changing with a half printed model its gonna smack it... why not have the tool changer at the top?
It is not at the bottom of the printer. It is strapped to the gantry and come up with it as the print goes on. This way, it won't need to travel to the top to fetch the next toolhead.
🎉
Is there a documented way to add something like the ercf also? Imagine having it swap colors on a multi color print while there is always a tool head actually printing? (Eg. 4 colors on 2 tool heads.) Best of both worlds
Technically, there is nothing the ercf to work on a toolchanger. The challenge is mostly down to the cost of the whole thing and the setting up the config.
that's fantastic! great job!
Is this compatible with Rama lama idlers? And do you have a video explaining the latch mechanism that locks the toolhead support structure in place?
Compatibility is only guaranteed to the default idlers for now. Since this video of v0.0, I have updated the mechanism to v1.0, of which there is a video for it: ua-cam.com/video/fBP8gSdacKA/v-deo.html
Glad to hear it is in beta. Can't wait to see what's to come
Awesome. Very interesting 😎. Are you able to upload a vid when it's in action/printing? An STL that uses multi color filaments perhaps?
Yeah, I am trying to figure out how to make time lapse of it printing. It will be boring if it just purely the printer doing its things, though. So I am planning to use the footage as background for the next video.
Good work dude 🤩 I'm designing project on my own and I know how time consuming they can be, especially about creating manual heh I really appreciate your work ❤️ I'm waiting for more content
Thanks for doing these videos and for adding more options to the Voron ecosystem
You doing a great job. Can't wait to rewire my 2.4 for nitehawk-SB (will get to remove so many wires!)
Where can I get the bom for V1.0 I didn't find it thanks
It is the next thing I will be working on. It should be done by next weekend. Edit. NM, it is uploaded.
Do I understand correctly that this is the key feature that differs MissChanger from StealthChanger? Or is there more?
The tap and toolchange mechism is also different. Unlike SC, MC retains the MGN9 rail, for probe accuracy.
What’s the difference between input shaper results? I understand stealthchanger has better IS results than the printed tap
@efboiz5302 I have published the input shaper results on GitHub. I don't know how it is compared to others.
@@vinny5915 ah man, looks like IS not great :( I wonder how just T0 would do with the dock and other toolheads not installed? In my ideal would I world really want to be able to maintain 7-10k accels for my regular ABS prints. 2k would be sufficient for the mutimaterial prints
Thanks!
Brilliant! Looking forward to the next one 😊
This is excellent! Thank you for all your effort in this project! 😎
hey there, this is from PCBWay. Currently, we'd like to see if our custom services can contribute to future MissChanger work. Feel free to circle back so we can talk.
can i install this if i have AWD?
Unfortunately, no. There is a lack of space around the front idler as it is. So the chance of fitting this and AWD is slim.
@@vinny5915 thank you for your input
Super cool I can’t wait to see more.
Could you make a video about wiring the stealth burners to the XLR connectors? Great Job
