Thanks for this video my blaster seems like somethings loose where the whole gearbox seems to clunk around when firing. I need to take it apart as well to figure out why it’s doing that. We have three of them in my house,,, I am very familiar with GEN 8 gearboxes but not these blasters yet lol

Do you possibly think you can ever work on the cz scorpion evo a1 gel blaster from amazon? Because I want to upgrade the gear box to have metal gears and also possibly find a way to add a threaded barrel for my tracer.
Sorry to say that blaster will not be upgradeable. You want to start with something that uses standard airsoft parts.

Possibly. A MOSFET would be an improvement to any blaster.

Really finding your videos informative. I'm new to all this and have been having a difficult time choosing a blaster. The bad reviews on any blaster that I look into, will always jump out to me and makes me unsure.
Between the Surge xl, Splatrball SRB400/1200, UnlocX, or Hydro Strike....which is the most reliable with minimal issues (and all around decent blaster)?
👍 UNLOCX pistol are best blasters under $100, followed by Hydro Strike and SURGE XL (but the it has a non replaceable battery)
@@engineerable thanks for the quick reply! And here I was ready to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on a Splatrball 400 haha. Are they over hyped? Target has them for 66 bucks right now. Hydro Strike is going for 60 at Walmart and the UnlocX pistol is 40, also at Walmart 🤔

I had just modded my hydro strike, I put in metal gears, a new piston, a different motor, and a bigger battery, currently waiting on my mosfet to come in so I won’t have to worry about the arc issues
Awesome! Everything dropped in fine into the original gearbox? No hacking necessary?
@@engineerable everything dropped in, but I had to mod abit with the gears. I choose a 16:1 gear set, but it wasn’t the same as the stock gear set. I had to buy a gear delay chip and I used a Dremel to fit it into place. But it wasn’t too hard and afterwards, everything drop in fairly easy.
The only other things that I did had trouble with was due to me adding either shims, breaking a part, or a installing a new ak trigger since the old one broke off on my gun. The trigger pokes out just enough for the gun to work.
I forgot to also note that the type of piston I bought is for a regular Airsoft gun, I should’ve bought the bore up sized ones
Update on the gun, upgrading the battery may require some soldering to add a different fuse due to the stock fuse overheating quickly. The fuse that you would need depends on the amount of current your battery can handle (ex. My battery was 20c, so I soldered a 20amp fuse onto the gun). It may lower the fire rate depending on the battery and fuse used. But it’s better then having the battery explode. So far my gun hasn’t blown the new fuse but is arcing a lot Will update again once I installed the mosfet.

That's too vague to diagnose. You need to test battery first and then test to see if motors are getting power
