TrampolineLemons come on we all know Van Halen was miles ahead of them😪 I mean they’re all great too but nothing in the realm of hard rock tops early Van Halen, just no..
Van Halen are the best of all time. They just are. Nothing can be above them in overall just outstandingly music. Absolutely superior band, Van Halen are
I still feel Van Halen are massively under rated in modern hard rock maybe its cause the critics don't keep on waffling on about them like they do with Zeppelin, Sabbath, Sex Pistols and the Stooges, they are a people's band and fuck the critics
+David Oglesby Yeah, and so many people only know like 5 songs of theirs and claim they are overrated. If people knew songs like Push Comes To Shove, Could This Be Magic?, Little Guitars, Light Up The Sky, 5150, Girl Gone Bad, etc. I think Van Halen would get as much respect as any of the bands you mentioned.
Van Halen I absolutely love 5150 and the entire Fair Warning album. I'd have to agree that people really like to ignore the rest of the "chunk" of the songs off really good albums
WatchMojo's Van Halen Band History is the Best among the rest >>> Accurate , Brief & Clear! We just lost Eddie Van Halen yesterday/Tuesday/6thOct2020 in the USA due to lung cancer ... He was 65 ... May Good God Blessed Eddie Van Halen to a Better World /Realm! Van Halen Jump! ♥️🌷🕯
This is Luke Mooney. I'm probably the biggest Van Halen fan because I have all albums by Van Halen (all studio albums, all compilation albums, all live albums, and all video albums), two posters, two T-shirts, a documentary DVD called "The Van Halen Story: The Early Years", four books, two songbooks, and my favorite Van Halen songs are "You Really Got Me", "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love", "Dance the Night Away", "Beautiful Girls", "So This is Love?", "Unchained", "Jump", "Panama", "Hot for Teacher", "Why Can't This Be Love", "Dreams", "Black and Blue", "When It's Love", "Finish What Ya Started", "Cabo Wabo", "Poundcake", "Runaround", "Top of the World", "The Dream Is Over", "Right Now", "Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)", "Can't Stop Lovin' You", "Not Enough", "Humans Being", "Without You", "It's About Time", "Up for Breakfast", "Tattoo", and "She's the Woman" and I'd like any Van Halen lead vocalist whether it's David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar, or Gary Cherone.
Saw Van Halen in Portsmouth, England in 1979, when they were the support act at a Black Sabbath 10th anniversary concert. They were complete unknowns (to me) at the time. But impressed hugely, right from their opening number, 'Running with the Devil'. Which had punters streaming back into the hall from the venue's bar. Great concert... great days.
Wait.... I'm confused. This video was uploaded Jan 18th, but ADKOT was released Feb 7th and went on tour from May to July in the US only with no world tour to follow.
ShockMe1994: That’s not Alex, that’s one of their friends from the brothers band in the late 60’s “The Trojan Rubber Company” before they became the 3 piece “Genesis” with Mark stone on bass. WatchMojo are just a bunch of fools who read off Wikipedia and use the first photo they find.
A Different Kind of Truth was not 'entirely new material' in fact, it was exactly the opposite. Every song on that album was a reworking of songs that never made the cut back in the day. The reason for this is because the Van Halens still can't stand David Lee Roth. So there's no way they are going to sit in a room with him and write new material. That album was awesome anyway.
the alaskan you’re so wrong, they didn’t just add lyrics, Eddie,Sammy & Dave have said, Ed just came up with a bunch of musical parts & pieces, Sammy & Dave both arranged them into full on songs & then wrote lyrics.
If Roth never went solo, I don’t think we would have been blessed with Yankee Rose. I know it’s controversial to say but I prefer DLR solo but love both eras of VH. Yankee Rose is one of the best rock anthems ever
Eddie was sick of being limited with Roth. He knew eventually they would be like ACDC. Same stuff over and over. Yes it works great for ACDC, but Ed couldnt do that and VH wouldnt have lasted much longer even if Dave and Ed liked each other.
It would’ve sucked, they hit their peak together, Eddie wanted to grow creativity & Dave wanted to do more party rock, they both succeeded without each other.
I can't stand when people say these really nasty things about Hagar being in Van Halen and when comparisons with Roth come around. You can't compare two totally different singers with two different styles of singing/songwriting. For me, it's like comparing Brian Johnson to Bon Scott. They sound and write differently. Yet with that, people still like AC/DC and its entire catalogue of songs with both singers. I mean fans never really bickered about if Brian ruined the band. Why can't this be so in Van Halen? I think if Roth "loyalists" would calm down and stop blaming Hagar for somehow ruining Van Halen by joining as Roth left, then maybe this seemingly dumb conversation wouldn't be a thing. I enjoy both Roth and Hagar-led Van Halen. It's gonna be good music no matter who's on vocals because Michael, Alex and Eddie are still there. And if you really want to try and point the finger at Hagar for "changing the musical direction" of the band, then point the damn finger at the man the band's named after. It's his band for crying out loud. He'll do whatever the fuck he wants. If he wants keyboards, it's there. Just some random thoughts of mine that come up when I see these "Hagar ruined VH" kind of comments
H1R0B0ND. Just my opinion but I think the difference between the Roth/Hagar and the Scott/Johnson scenarios is Johnson joined AC/DC due to Bon Scott unfortunately dyeing. Those people who refused to accept Hagar were probably pissed that Roth left and the way it all went down. All of which had nothing to do with Hagar. I agree both line ups made some killer music. We will never know but based on album sales if there had never been a Roth version of Van Halen and they had started with Hagar they would have still been a multi-platinum selling band. IMO. Personally I like the Roth version better but they wrote a lot of good songs with Hagar in the band. And what do people expect. If you were a rock singer and Edward VH asked if you wanted to join Van Halen who wouldn't do it in a minute. I was not a Hagar solo artist fan but it's not like he was struggling before he joined VH. Joining VH put him with one of the biggest bands in the world at the time. Who can blame him.
actually no, that would be hard, but they DO read from a script which is obvious but thats not a bad thing what a failed troll attempt P.S it would be hard to read from wikkipedia because of how each page is structured
If we had the same ingredients of what made 80s rock music cool, it may comeback into mainstream, but NO... Everyone wants be a nirvana/metallica/emo fucking bullshit!! Sex, drugs and rock n roll is no more... Until that won't happen rock will die
Greatest American rock band of all time
@Biff Steele lol yeah right 😂
TrampolineLemons come on we all know Van Halen was miles ahead of them😪 I mean they’re all great too but nothing in the realm of hard rock tops early Van Halen, just no..
William Oliveaux are you really trying to compare Van Halen to Aerosmith and Metallica you obviously don’t care about guitar
Van Halen are the best of all time. They just are. Nothing can be above them in overall just outstandingly music. Absolutely superior band, Van Halen are
RIP Eddie Van Halen
Eddie Van Halen has past away today... rip
Sad
Van Halen will NEVER DIE IN ALL OF HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never ever :D
Live on my friends
hmmmmm
actually Eddie died :(
I got a Van Halen Phase right now, listening them everyday 8 hours straight.
I still feel Van Halen are massively under rated in modern hard rock
maybe its cause the critics don't keep on waffling on about them like they do with Zeppelin, Sabbath, Sex Pistols and the Stooges, they are a people's band
and fuck the critics

Rest In Peace Eddie
The narrator did a great job reading wikipedia.
Really?
Lmao
I like how you didn't even bring up eruption.
Kyle Heisler,
It didn't need to be, it's common knowledge.
I don't like it
I know
Great band, arguably best band ever for the early to mid 80s. Possibly top 5 of all time, IMO.

Mee too man mee too
Love seeing some love for the Cherone era! VHIII sits just as well with the rest of their back catalogue
Great concert... great days.
Damn, wish i was around at that time to experience that :(
VH1, 1st LP I ever bought when it was just released, still incredible 40 years later...
One of the best bands ever!
Fair Warning is their best work
you are a visionary
Somebody actually gave me that record because he didn't want it.He was really into The Clash
AMEN!
seriously? lol wow. i wonder if he's been laid yet?
I think the FUCK album was their best work with Sammy
This is the best mojo video ever
i looked at the wikipedia page for van halen and it is exactly the same
I love how they were like fair warning didn’t do so good even though it was fucking awesome.
This is my dad and I favorite band of all time we know all of their songs
me and my dad are the same way with led zeppelin
+William Love me, my dad and my brother are all obsessed with acdc
Me i prefer van halen but my dad led zeppelin
Great music
whenever my mom got a ticket to see them they always canceled.......... Van Halen hates my mom
lol
Jonathan Shaner it's a conspiracy!
it occurs to me that Edward Mike and Al can sing as well in their harmony parts as DLR or Sam can sing .
5150 is my favorite VH album
I just wanna say rip Eddie Van Halen
Hagar screams "I can't tell but it last forever" at 3.17 was enough to know that it wouldn't.
Funny Mark Stone was the bassist until 1973 then they brought in Mike they should’ve stated that though
What version of dance the night away I that it isn't live but it sounds a little different from the album version
Alex Bassett that might just be the audio
Wait.... I'm confused. This video was uploaded Jan 18th, but ADKOT was released Feb 7th and went on tour from May to July in the US only with no world tour to follow.
Do one on King Crimson, that band had talent!
0:27 the guy holding the guitar is not eddie.. eddie is standing next to him
I’m pretty sure that’s Alex, that’s why she said “Drummer Alex”
ShockMe1994: That’s not Alex, that’s one of their friends from the brothers band in the late 60’s “The Trojan Rubber Company” before they became the 3 piece “Genesis” with Mark stone on bass. WatchMojo are just a bunch of fools who read off Wikipedia and use the first photo they find.
Van Halen not Van Hagar.......always
Ben Stein Exactly!
Whether you like it or not Van Hagar was pretty damn good.
I love it how they only mentioned 1 song off each album
They read the Wikipedia 😂
please do oasis and mr.big

Albert EinsteinJr of course! all the songs are Ed's. Dave, Sam&Gary just added lyrics to HIS songs
the alaskan you’re so wrong, they didn’t just add lyrics, Eddie,Sammy & Dave have said, Ed just came up with a bunch of musical parts & pieces, Sammy & Dave both arranged them into full on songs & then wrote lyrics.
Albert EinsteinJr partly wrong! Only 7 of the songs were from the 70s, the other 6 were ALL NEW material that the wrote for this album.
R.I.P Eddie
The first 4 albums are my all time favorite😊. From Diver Down it all went to hell😦..

Bruh your stupid

Wondered why it was van Halen when DLR was lead singer didn't know they were around so long
hagar was no Roth
Michael England That is a fact!!!🎸🎶👍🏽
Michael England And Roth surely was no Hagar
HAGAR had some good songs but I wish we had twenty more years of Roth instead with a dozen new albulms!!
commonsense !! I love both eras but Roth can’t sing anymore

You are the best
@316whatup and @RPD64 They are back with him if you guys didn't hear.
Hendrix killed Chuck Berry. Edward Van Halen killed Hendrix. Only cancer might kill Edward Van Halen, the greatest rock guitarist until now.
Cancer did kill Eddie
@@Miist3rDuce1 that bastard
