Black Sabbath are just one of those bands nobody can hate. Amazing musicians, but never became full of themselves. They always stayed the same working class lads who stuck to their humble roots and yet always developed musically, and that’s why I love them so much: they helped give a voice to people like me.
Ehh, Ozzy got full of himself. Though his solo career is astounding, you can't deny his own ideas and ego were a big part of what drove him away, drugs aside. His attitude about Dio was honestly disgusting.
@@MintyCoffee I do love Dio and I am very aware that Ozzy disliked him and felt insecure, but I think that since Ozzy got sober he’s been a really cool bloke
This is the best Sabbath documentary I've seen yet. Almost nobody ever goes beyond the Ozzy albums, you're lucky if they even mention Dio. Iommi rules.
It's amazing how much Tony believed in Black Sabbath especially in that era when band members are always coming and going, he stuck around. He inspired me to play the guitar
I find it fascinating that Tony could play the guitar rather well without the use of some of his fingers, much like Django Reinhardt before him. I’m fairly certain Reinhardt probably inspired him in his musical career (and also Jerry Garcia from here in the States).
My dad is a huge Black Sabbath fan, when they did a reunion tour in the late 90s my dad couldn’t find anyone to watch my brother & I so he just took us with him. We were way too young & I remembering covering my ears the whole time it was so loud 😂
Sabbath only started down-tuning on their THIRD album "masters of Reality" in 1971. From 1968 to 1971 & from 1976 to 1979, they were tuned to E standard. Geezer was also originally a guitarist & only first played bass when he joined Sabs.
Interesting fact: I actually live in Workington. I LOVE Black Sabbath and having them play their first ever show here is an amazing boy of history. There’s even a little plaque in the local theatre (the Carnegie) about it. So cool.

Whether or not this actually happened is unclear, as everyone gives different accounts. - "Born Again" was not intended to be a Black Sabbath album, but they were forced to use the Black Sabbath name when it came time to release it.

I know right, and what about the Dio greatest hits album with those 3 new songs or the ozzy 90's reunion live record with the bonus studio tracks. Oh and also The End ep
Good & interesting documentary. Along with Deep Purple, Black Sabbath is one of the real foregeoers of heavy rock who seem to have been around since time immemorial.
Fun fact: Iommi reunited the Mob Rules lineup with Butler, Dio, and Appice in the late aughts and called the band Heaven and Hell. They put out a killer live record of their show from Radio City, and released an awesome album called the Devil you Know before Dio’s untimely death in 2010.
This is pretty good. How about Budgie next? They are one of my favorite bands, and are criminally underrated despite inspiring a lot of other bands in the 80's.
I’m Canadian, and I’m a avid music enthusiast, and as a 54 year old I’ve come across many outstanding bands that just had that special sound and they were brave enough to change music, Black Sabbath is definitely one of those bands, they created a whole new genre of music, , In my opinion the absolute best music has always come from England, so many bands have set a new standard and sound that influenced American and Canadian music, Such bands like The Who, The Beatles , Rolling Stones, and because of my age, my most favourite, Joy Division and The Smiths, I Know, I Know, I included joy division and the smiths, a completely different genre of music, but my point is that without England, music wouldn’t be the same, the English have started every trend and style of music that we listen to today. I will admit that America invented rock and roll, but it’s the English that took it to a new level and perfected it.
Great video. Very informative. One of my friends says that at least three of the original members has to be in the band in order for it to be called Black Sabbath. That doesn’t seem to be the case. Anywho, Van Halen would be a great choice for your next video 😊
You forgot "REUNION" a Double LIVE album, to where, Psychoman & Selling My Soul were 2 new studio tracks with the Original 4. Also a song titled "Scary Dreams" was also new but only performed LIVE at select shows.
i love the tony martin albums, forbidden being the only one that, yeah, isn't great. but man, the eternal idol, headless cross and tyr are three excellent albums. cross purposes also has some really good tracks like ' the hand that rocks the cradle'. i think that people often overlook these albums when there's genuinely good music to be heard there.
Please do one for Jimi Hendrix. I'd love to see this type of videos but for him and his legacy, it would really be an interesting video, to cover an emblematic artist!

far from the only error in the video
Great video! Hope to see more soon in the future
Another fantastic retrospective by the mR. BeaT ‼️🖤‼️
OH MY GOD U ARE A LEGEND!
Omg It's Mr Beat talking about Black Sabbath, my dreams have come true
Very good documentary 👌
Thanks a lot
I didn't realize you had a music channel along with your History channel

"Around this time, Osbourne realized he wanted to-"
Great video. Very informative. One of my friends says that at least three of the original members has to be in the band in order for it to be called Black Sabbath. That doesn’t seem to be the case.
Anywho, Van Halen would be a great choice for your next video 😊
Best video you've ever made.
You forgot "REUNION" a Double LIVE album, to where, Psychoman & Selling My Soul were 2 new studio tracks with the Original 4.
Also a song titled "Scary Dreams" was also new but only performed LIVE at select shows.
another great video man!! I would love to see one from The Doors
The original line up at Birmingham NEC 1999 surpassed any expectations I may have had before seeing them live for the first time. 👌👍
SO GLAD this was made!! Please do Metallica next or KISS. Either one
Right on. :)
i love the tony martin albums, forbidden being the only one that, yeah, isn't great. but man, the eternal idol, headless cross and tyr are three excellent albums. cross purposes also has some really good tracks like ' the hand that rocks the cradle'. i think that people often overlook these albums when there's genuinely good music to be heard there.
Please do one for Jimi Hendrix. I'd love to see this type of videos but for him and his legacy, it would really be an interesting video, to cover an emblematic artist!
OH wow I would have never guessed this was going to be a Mr Beat video. Yay! Hey, Mr Beat. My favorite is prolly Fairies Wear Boots.
I LOVE BLACK SABBATH
