62 Dodges and Plymouths are one of my all time favorite cars. The downsized design that was criticized is what makes them so awesome today , the lightest B body ,unique wow styling . I want one .
Gorgeous car! Great job on the restoration. My first car was a 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury. Bought it in late 1981. My dad was a mechanic and he maintained the vehicle for a little ole lady who was meticulous. 318, though, but still fairly fast. It got me through college and my young dumb brain thought a 4x4 F250 would be better. Oh, hindsight!!
That's a sweet Plymouth those cars that come with the Super Stock 413 with the duel quads or the Max Wedge was the king of the Streets and Track back in the Early 60's
@leroy brown 413 had the cross ram too. The Beach boys song "Shut down" was about one racing a Stingray. A magazine did the actual race between a correct Vette and the Dodge and the Beach boys must have been on something when they wrote the song because the Vette got stomped lol
@@zcam1969 No he's right. Shutdown was about a max wedge Mopar vs an injected corvette. 409 was about a four speed, dual quad positraction 409. Which I guess was in a biscayne or impala.
Of course they do. You can get Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers in muscle versions. And, if you can afford one, there's always Corvette. And, believe it or not, there are some turbo charged VWs, Porches and Audis out there that will knock your socks off!
Marten Trudeau thank God they don't make'em like that anymore! Heavy, slow, can't turn, can't brake, no heat, A/C sucked, winter driving is an lol. You can buy a Civic that's as fast or faster. I'm an old guy, retired mechanic, and I endorse this message.
@Jeremy Thompson cars were fun to drive in those days because you had to really drive them. High torque and terrible everything else! But I'm much much older now and i see there's a Mustang that goes 0-60mph just north of 3 seconds not to mention the monsters Dodge makes now. Yes the nostalgia is fun but today's cars are just what we old, experienced motoheads have wanted our entire lives. Take care and drive it like it's stolen and keep the shiny side up my friend.
In 1968 or 69 (I was 15 or 16) I bought a 1962 (red) Plymouth Fury with a 361CI 4 barrel three speed (manual on the collum). It had wide ovals, keystone mag's, shakel's (California rake) glass pack's, and duel exhaust.
That is gorgeous. 1 out 3 of my favorite car's. 63 Forrd Galixie, 68 Pontiac Bonneville,68 Plymouth Satellite and yours..just nice. Oh and the Bonneville gotta be a convertible..oh yeah
I had a "collector" '67 Fastback Mustang that came w/ a 390 V8 and never knew what I had, til years later. I took the big bock out and put in a 351 Cleveland w/ a M-21 transmission. What a blast to drive and I'd sure like to have it back. Oh well, live and learn.
Memories...drove a red 62 Plymouth for a couple years...225 slant six...not quite the same...two door hardtop. 1962 was the first year my dad had his Chrysler franchise.
I was in luck when I was a teenager my Dad purchase a formal 1962 Plymouth Belvedere Minnesota Highway patrol car with a 361 four barrel carb, and something that most cars did not have was positive traction. it would scream!!! It has always be a favorite of mine.
Yes I had a 65. Fury. It was cool but 64. I had 65...and 64. 64 on back way cooler badass. Body styles I miss my 64. So much it was 383 hipo pushbutton automatic fast and loved it that was back in 1990...where has time gone paid 700..$ for it was very solid I got pics and memories in it that s all but I treasure them always its on my wall now l ok😳😁😁😁
when I was younger my dad bought a 62 Plymouth fury 2 door hard top with push button drive...just like this.... it was a real attention getter! he later sold it and was turned into a drag car.
I always have a soft spot for these ‘62 Mopar. Dad had one in the form of the Wagon with the 7 of us. I use to stare at the wheel covers and front head lights. LOL
I know what you mean. Each spring as I get my 67 mustang out, it’s a special car again! It’s not fodder, a six cylinder, but runs good and I love mine just as you love yours. MOPAR+FOMOCO= love of cars!
I got my 62 4 door fury in 04 out of a barn yard on the way home from school. Drove it home with no brakes . Lol. Had the 318 poly Painted it black. It was old primer when purchased . Paid 400$ cash. Sold it long ago. I miss it so much.
Really nice car, i am a mapar guy at 55 years old i wish i could afford to build another. Lucky man you are to own a 1 of a kind car. By the way Move Over Plymouth Approaching Rapidly is what MOPAR stands for. Peace brother, sooo glad ur not a Camaro guy!
Great car! Love it! I beleive they used the same side view mirrors that his car has on my 64 Imperial LeBaron. My Imp also has a 413 and push button 727 tranny
I Love old Chrysler B bodies! The one I raced was 1962 Sort Fury which was basically a beaten, clapped out street car. I bought it with a manual shift pushbutton 727, 3,91 gear and a forged crank 440 ,running and driving for $300.00! I gutted the car, welded in sheet metal in the qtrs. & wheel wells, put in plexiglass side windows, lexan' windshield, 6 point roll cage. Fun car to build! I came to absolutely LOVE that body style and I'd love to have another one.... If I could find the same deal for the same money...
Could someone please say if those nice fender mirrors came stock in the Canadian or in the American models? o are they from what other car? I think I saw some of them in early 60´s Chrysler, Plymouths, Imperials or NewYorkers,,, anyone knows? THANKS !!!
"Bad to the Bone". That is one mean looking car from every angle. Not pretty like a Camaro or Mustang. Just plain evil, wicked, mean and nasty. Looks like it wants to hurt something. I predict pain for any opponent.
VERY nice car. I had a '62 Belvedere 2dr Htp back in the early 90s (paid $100.00 for it) and then sold it to a guy through Hemming's Motor News so he could restore it. I've had alot of 1960s cruisers (including a '62 Impala SS "409" and when driving your cool old car down the street with the windows down and the oldies up.....it's like you're in a TIME MACHINE doing what you did as a kid!!! NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT!!!
Great, I built a slot car w a 62 body and made it a gasser wheelie car,was great head Turner, always loved these lucky you..I'd take care of her...cool you still drive her n use it as designed... commando go....
Just looking for reference material for this car cuz I am about to build 1/25th scale model of this car . Although my kit is a convertible, I got some nice detailed shots of your interior. Cool car !
I won 99 per cent of the drag races I raced with my 1970 Challenger r/T 440 six-pak too. Chevy owners hated it. In 1973 I was running high 10's in the quarter mile at a little over 130 mph.
To increase the value of the car I would at least replace the intake manifold with a stock 413 cross-ram manifold with two Carter 650 cfm carbs. In 1962 Plymouth named the engine the" Super Stock 413". It should be noted that the 413 ramcharger engine is exactly the same and was used in the Dodge Dart vehicles.
I am a Ford man at heart but I am also a Mopar lover too and had two Mopars and one of them had the 413 with single four barrel/ It was in a Fury also. It was bad to the bone. Most people believe that Furys were heavy cars but they are lighter than many other Mopars and they are always quick.

Nowadays I can tell the difference between a kia Optima, toyota camry, Nissan Altima, ford fusion, mazda 3, and Subaru forester easily. My point is that it's easier to identify cars that were made in your early years.
The 1962 lineup was actually a D'OH moment. Chrysler's head was eavesdropping on what GM planned to launch, and misunderstood what he heard. Beautifully stunning Fury! Now that she’s rockin’ a 413, it’s appropriate to crank up the Beach Boy’s tune - “Shut Down”! 😉

Great job on the restoration on this Classic 62 Fury, that's a really cool ride.

This car is very becoming. Keep up the good work.
I've always loved that year plymouth. They look mean. The 413 street wedge was a brutal engine & could eat a 64 GTO for lunch. Mopar or no car🤘
Truth be told, a whole lot of cars could eat a '64 GTO for breakfast lunch and dinner and then ask for seconds.
But the GTO had the look. Hence… The GTX. 😀
