It's not about the whiskey, it's the people you share it with!

Bruh! Stop with the camera!!!😂 Best Bourbon Channel on UA-cam!!!!!! Your content and palate is unparalleled……….Now leave the camera straight on brutha!!!!
Lol. Got it.
Palate
All good my friend. I come here daily to learn from Jason C., NOT Jason See and trigger Vertigo!😂
@@kamahhl thank you and yes, autocorrect!
That’s hilarious. No doubt…. Best overall content on reviews on UA-cam.
I got a bottle of their Single Barrel last fall on our Bourbon Trail visit and fell in love with it, so now I'm excited about this release. Can't wait since they just announce they are coming to NC!
Quad Bass New Riff 8yr, Four Roses Single Barrel, Turkey 8/101, and Old Forester 1897.
I live 20 minutes away from it so it was easy for me to get it when it released. Great stuff. They’re underrated
I live close too! Totally agree!
I live in fort thomas right up the hill from newport/bellevue. I love going to party source. It's awesome being in this part of ky. Rhinegeist and wooden cask, lots of brew houses, the party source. Super easy to get a lot of other really nice KY breweries like country boy in stores. New Riff being right next door is the cherry on top of it all.
I think their Sherry Finished Barrel Proof rye is my favorite.
Love the Balboa Rye! First time I tasted it I was hooked.
Finally got a chance to try the New Riff 8-year! I've had some fantastic whiskey before from New Riff. This 8-year, though... isn't quite it. It comes across like a whiskey distilled back when New Riff was still trying to figure out the operating parameters at which to run their still to make the best spirit. I know there is a big difference in proof and price, but purely assessing quality, I think that the recent 7 yr Bourbon Lore/Holladay blend is better whiskey. This is by no means bad whiskey, but I've had some 5 year New Riff single barrels that were noticeably better representations of what New Riff can do.
Got one at the release and had Brian sign it! Also picked up the Silver Grove while I was there. Big fan of their stuff and feel the Sour Mash Single Malt is being seriously overlooked,
I’m a big fan of New Riff - craft and quality without the BS hype and over-pricing. My only complaint is the distribution (or lack of) near me in Portland, Maine.
I love New Riff. The standard rye is one of my favorite and the bourbon is not that bad. I like that it is not very sweet with the bourbon vanilla.
I just picked up a NF Single Barrel at 110 proof. Baking spices are the predominant flavor followed by oak, vanilla and a bit of caramel. I have also had their straight BIB bourbon and rye, which are both good pours. Not sure that this 8 year bottle will make it east, but I will be on the look out for it. Thanks for the review Jason. Cheers.
I love New Riff ryes, especially the 6 year malted. I have not tried any of their bourbons. I think I’ll give this one a try if it makes it to my area.
I'll try it. Love the eight year.
Another vote for the 6 year Malted Rye, but I honestly like everything I have ever tried. Would love to get my hands on this bottle, but my real wishlist item is the limited High note cask strength Malted Rye. That Wild Turkey 8 is pretty damn good as well. Cheers!
New riff is pretty much the only non legacy distiller that I like. Love the honey/toffee notes in most of their stuff. I enjoy their regular bourbon as well as their single barrel ryes. Haven’t had a chance to try any special releases yet cuz i haven’t seen them in socal SoCal :’( Really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these someday ! I also would live to try the 6yr malted rye sounds 🔥 as well!
I recommend the Chattanooga malted rye, for what it’s worth.
Great stuff, per usual. I’m waiting for mine to come. Love the review and am looking forward to it even more now. New riff has been killing it with these aged releases
I think the alternate camera angles work better for videos with multiple people in them. You're more like a reporter giving us the scoop on all things whiskey, so one camera is probably best. But the two camera thing would be good when you have guests or for bottle shots. Keep up the awesome work!
New Riff Winter Whiskey is my favorite but I also love the 6 year Malted Rye offering.
Great review can't wait to get onee
Just filmed my review as well and I totally agree. Cheers man. Good stuff!
Heading there tomorrow to pick up a couple. Appreciate the review
I would Love to see ER for msrp. Stores here maybe have a bottle twice a year, and then they're asking close to 100. Like, its good, but it ain't That good. So glad I stocked up on it years ago.
Agree with you! I had the chance to tri it at the distillery together with their Silver Grove release and the 8yo just won hands down.
fun comparison . nice review Jason!
Looking forward to getting it in Minnesota
Love everything I've bought from new riff. 6 yr malted rye is my favorite I've tried from them. Will be snagging this if I get a chance
Can’t wait to get my bottle. I will look forward to this one
Sounds right up my alley. Cool to see
Certainly got my eyes peeled for it to drop here in CT, they mentioned it will be available across their national footprint.
I guess the only drawback to not being a Bib is the neck tag wont have distilling/bottling years in it like the reg BiB and Malted 6 year rye have. Which helps you know which batch you're getting.
Pulling the trigger on this 8 year as soon as I see it. 😂
I have one of these somewhere in my house right now. Lol. My wife made me give it to her to give to me for our anniversary on 4/13. So, just sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting to try my own bottle of 8 yr. Lol.
I would love to see this compared to the wilderness trail 8 year bourbon.
I only have the New Riff Malted Rye and the Single Malt so I have been waiting for this to hit but have yet to see it.
As a rye fan I always try to get a backup on the Balboa rye. I hope I can find this 8 year bourbon here in NYC
I hope this bottle hits MA. I agree about Balboa rye. Definitely a rye I recommend to others. I also find the NR bourbon picks to be hit or miss. None are off-putting, but very few grab my attention enough to buy. Would love to try the 8yr though. Cheers!
I’m a rye profile and stone fruit fan. Sounds like I’d like this one. Need to find one in Central Ohio.
Folks are comparing it to an alternative to EH Taylor Small Batch. although they have a differnt taste profile. Head to Head some are picking New Rif.
Wonder how this compares to a similar age-stated Sagamore 8 year rye...obviously not the same thing, but that Sag-8 is an absolute favorite of mine, and it's almost always on the shelf!.
New Riff has been one of those brands that I keep putting off for other, more established distilleries. I might need to change that soon.....
Great review, I wish it was more than 100 proof for the money. Cheers!🥃👍🏻
Agreed their SB releases are wildly variable. I have one so smoky/burnt that it’s almost undrinkable. Total Lapsang Souchong tea. Not like good smoky scotch. Anywho…love all their rye offerings.
How much ,how can I get it over seas
Just bought the Dark Arts bottle that is finished with toasted Jupilles fluer French oak staves. Is that the one you sampled last week in the live show?
Yes it is
How does WT8 stack up to WT12? I love the wild turkey 12 and the place I get it from also has the 8 year but I like the 12 so mich I have yet to try the 8 year
The W12 is way better
@TheMashandDrum that's kind of what I thought and I also thought the 100 dollar price tag would be too much for it. I am sure it is not bad at all but not worth the 100 dollars. I'll add the 50 bucks and get another 12 year because it is amazing!!!
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
Also will you say when you were sent the bourbon by the company? Full transparency is nice…
Yep. Usually do. I bought this myself.
Jason, whats up with the moving camera? Making me dizzy, man!
First time using it. Got it. Less movements. Lol.
Jason…. I probably live within 5-10 miles of you. If I can get a sample of this one…. That would be amazing!!!
The second camera is not necessary. Especially during your live stream, can barely make out the bottle. The light reflects off the label/bottle and is barely readable. Love your videos. Take my comment with a grain of salt.
Every New Riff I’ve had tastes like grassy oak water.
Yeah that's that weird flavor I get. However the 8 year doesn't really have that.
Never like new riff and didn’t like the balboa either not bad but would never chase them
Why buy an 8 year old 100 proof New Riff Bourbon for 70 bucks compared to a 9 year 100 proof bourbon from
Say Knob Creek at 35?
Come on America, stop chill filtering any thing above 46%
The double view during the video takes away from the review. Stay straight, we will enjoy the videos better. Have no idea what was said during the review keep waiting for the view the change.
New Riff is a 5 star Distillery to my palate!
Thoughts on Penelope 9yr vs this New Riff 8 yr?
Great head to head
