This video just helped reassure my obsession for bourbon. Most of my friends that like whisk(e)y usually say "all bourbon tastes the same" and I understand them because if your palette isnt seasoned well enough, all youre going to get is this big punch of alcohol and some "generic" bourbons nuances. However, what I love about the spirit is the hunt for unique flavors. Some bourbons are just great neat... some need a little water to open up the bouquet.. and then you play around with how much or little water is needed... some are great ice cold, poured over rocks. It is just a fun spirit! Thanks for the videos!

It’s delicious, smooth like butter neat. I like it even more than Noah’s Mill.

I bought this 3 years ago and opened it yesterday. Took me a while because of the mixed reviews. I actually love it. Spicy, cinnamon, baked apples, honey, lemon zest.

You guys are right on…I personally like it, but it’s busy. I get berry and vanilla on the nose with some heat and some spice on the initial palate. It smooths out pretty quick, though (some caramel notes are present). It’s not one of my favorites because I generally prefer thicker bourbons, but it’s versatile. Might be good as a mixer, too, which I can’t say for most whiskey…usually it’s one or the other (sipper or mixer).

Thanks! We need to get some of your music to be a background. Maybe we'll review a Copper Run whisky where you and I played that gig ;-)

I just did not like this one until I saw you add the water. I added a few drops and made it really good, to me.

Béla Fleck is kind of perfect for this bourbon (along with a bit of water.) Nice video!

The alcohol/barrel influence in this presents itself to me as a cinnamon/big red note. It’s an unexpected flavor I appreciate. Wood Ford reserve and four roses are my regular gotos. This is a nice change up in that lineup. I get some banana on the nose, am I crazy.

I saw what you were doing, my Moocher Mentor! What bourbon do people see as complex? 'Can you possibly bring one out, Daniel?'

Had no idea you guys are in Austin. Sending love over in Bastrop tx! Just bought this bottle before even seeing the video. Great review what's the next bottle I should try after this one? This isn't my favorite tho. Right now I'm loving knob creek single.

Love your videos ... I’m a long time Bourbon fan but can’t pick out the various notes you guys do, I just know what I like and don’t like. Anyway, Rowan’s has a note I get with Oregon Spirit Bottled in Bond and Hickory Hill Cask Strength. Can you think of any note similarities between these three ? I like it, just can’t identify it. Keep the great videos coming.

I started buying this about 5 or 6 years ago as my alternative to Pappy, which was disappearing.
Just found your page today when I was looking for YT reviews on Rowan's Creek.
I was specifically looking for reviews because somehow I can't buy Rowan's Creek off the shelf anymore and I was wondering how everyone found out about it over the last couple of years.
This is a repeat of Pappy's, that I also used to buy off the shelf back in the day.
(yes, I used to buy Pappy's before everyone else jumped on that as well).
Looks like I need to find the *next* great bourbon now.
Anyone have any great bourbon's that can rival Rowan's Creek?

A bourbon that I couldn’t find anything to love. I didn’t even keep it on the bottom shelf. Wish I would have tried it now with water but I still can’t imagine liking it!

I just bought this, and totally regret it; it is the total opposite of smooth, or mellow. Much too strong for me to even tolerate, even when I added water.

I bought a bottle of this just to add to the bar but I don't expect much from a label that looks like it was drawn by an idiot with a crayon and a hand spasm.
