We've tried both these and agree that the Noah's Mill is an excellent buy. Its earned a spot on my shelf especially for the price point and availability. Wasn't much a fan of the Rowan's Creek at all.
Just dug out an old bottle of Rowan's Creek I had stashed away, so searched up some reviews. It was a neck pour, but I was sampling along with your tasting and all the notes you were giving for the Noah's Mill, I was getting on the Rowan's Creek. Too funny! I like the format and thanks for the content!
Ive had Noahs Mill on my shelf for well over a year. Ive heard a lot of different experiences with it and Im almost afraid to pop it. I have never seen it in NC and if its good, Id be like damn I want another one but if it sucks, I waited a long time just to be disappointed. Glad to hear that your experience with it was a good one...
I have only had 2 bottles of Noah’s Mill since it became NAS. All of the previous 15yr bottles could deceive you on the proof because it was so easy to drink, but the NAS was notably hotter and less enjoyable. Maybe it is time to give Noah’s Mill another shot since I drink a lot more high ABV than back then. Great review!
Rowans creek is my number 1 bourbon. I love it so so much. It has such a unique taste to me, I can taste it instantly and can pick it out when it’s poured as part of a mystery lineup. It’s so good.
I have very fond memories of Rowan's Creek 12... unfortunately, I never see it in Oregon anymore! Love your channel! Great reviews, production values, informative and entertaining! I never got around to trying Noah's Mill, as it was very expensive back in the day ($65-75), when the Pappy's were $33-55. Subscribed.
@@TheMashandDrum Cheers, Jason! Although I can't drink right now! I'm treating a stomach ailment for the next 5 weeks, so I can't pour. Watching whiskey vids is somewhat filling the void though, Lol. 😄 love the energy you bring! Interesting to see consistency as a scoring point, helps to better communicate the body IMHO.
Another spot on review!, thank you. went on a EC 121A hunt today with no luck but l did find these 2 bottles and since l've never seen them or tried them before l bought them. After trying both head to head, l prefer the Noah's Mill. I must admit, l started with the Noah's so the l could hardly taste the Rowan's Creek. The Noah's Creek reminds me Baker's Single barrel (1 of my favs) spicey cinnamon, vanilla, woody and drying.
I just ran across this vid. Never seen a comparison of the two before. I need to go back into your library! Oh, and I can confirm the Heaven Hill connection via a friend who is high up in the company.
Thanks Jason. I've had more Noah's than Rowan's Creek. Noah's has not been consistent, but when I have a good bottle I prefer to have it as the last one of the night.
Great side by side Jason, I’m amazed how much my taste preferences have evolved over the last few years. Rowens Creek was one of my favorites, but now I’m really enjoying higher proof and more flavorful bourbon and ryes. Such a fun journey though! Enjoy your show, cheers! 🥃
Thanks for another great review! I passed up on Noah's Mill when in KY recently based on the reviews of inconsistencies between batches. I won't pass it up next time I see it. Sounds like it's worth a shot at that price point. Thanks!
It's a year later, but I bought a Rowan's Creek today and as I watched this while sipping it, I swore that letter B (actually Noah's Mill) was what I was drinking. Maybe my palate just sucks. Maybe the batching is weird or has changed. I'm still looking for the cherry note and can't find it. Are you sure you labeled them right? J/K
I just had both of these for the first time tonight. Took a detour into SC to try to find some whiskey I never see in NC. These both have similar, unique profiles compared to most bourbons I've had. A sour, citrus cherry that is heavy on the nose and tongue. I prefer the Noah's Mill at the moment, but honestly it could change over time. I also got Belle Meade Bourbon and George Dickel Hand Selected Barrel on my trip, and I think I like both of those better.
My bottle of Noah’s was good at first but after a few months it changes and was way too cinnamony and different. I don’t know how long yours has been open but I’d like to hear you’re opinion on it after a few months.
My bottle has been open for about 3-4 years and hasn't changed from what I can tell, it has what I call that sweet Beam-esque OGD 114 pecan/walnut nuttyness but much richer and pungent. DSP-KY-78 BATCH QBC NO 18-18
Spearmintiness: Noun; the state of being spearminty. Ex: This bourbon really has the spearmintiness that I really like. Added to Webster’s Bourbon Dictionary on 9/30 as created by Jason C.
I've come to realize that I don't like the mineral taste present here. Also disappointed with Widow Jane 10 year. Guess i don't like the limestone influence

As always top quality. History and a great breakdown, one of the best youtubers out there. Cheers, -J.O.

Damn. I've been tempted to try these two recently. This is gonna be perfect to give me a guidance. Perfect timing.

Like these Double bass reviews Jason. Noah's Mill has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. Cheers!
I couldn’t agree more! Love me some Noah’s mill.
Dude, I've been actually honestly looking up for this mash-up.

LOVE Noah's Mill, Great juice. It's quite complex, a lot in there. Take your time with it.
Well done sir! Looking forward to the next match-up in the series. Cheers!

Thanks Aaron! Glad you enjoy the channel! I would have loved to try the old age statement bottles. Cheers!

@Aaron Silva You can have my bottle of RC.
I enjoy the strong, long lasting pepper finish on the Noah's and the fruity, light sweet flavor of the rowan's.
Never tried but I will now. Thanks for a great review

Thanks Jason I've been looking for Noahs Mill. Keep up the good work and Go Green.
Great side by side Jason! I like hearing your thoughts on both of these pours! Cheers! 🥃👍🇺🇸

Yes Im scared this bottle may go bitter with some air. I know Ive had pours better than the one I have.
Noah’s Mill is outstanding
You can't go wrong with either of these especially at the price point. Love them both because of their differences and quality.
Nice job Jason. My Noah's Mill is long gone but those leather and peanut notes were awesome. Cheers
Two very good damn Bourbons!
Great idea for a review glad someone thought of it. Would love to have old age statment bottles of both of these, course who wouldn't ! Cheers
So true!! Would have loved to taste those.

I will be picking some Noah’s Mill up now that I’ve seen this review. I like the bottle design as well.
It is my favorite bourbon :)
Both great Willett items
Btw iron cobra peddles, or DW peddles? Fastest action for a double bass pedal? Bass drum heads tight or loose?

At 50 it's pretty good. You have to like peanut forward bourbons though. Cheers!
Noah's Mill is my #1 bourbon.
first time here interesting show
Really like Noah’s Mill👍🏽
Curious, do you have a small dram prior to doing reviews to get the palate used to the alcohol, or smoke when tasting peating things?

Yeah after this tasting I was thinking it could go bitter. I will definitely revisit this one. Cheers

#spearmintiness trademarked!
Old Forester Signature 100 vs Wild Turkey 101 for an economy class rye bill bourbon comparison?
I like it! Will get that one down.
I've come to realize that I don't like the mineral taste present here. Also disappointed with Widow Jane 10 year. Guess i don't like the limestone influence
2:27 bruh
Headphone warning at @2:27 sound glitch
Yeah the wonders of UA-cam processing. Lol.
If you were to handcuff him, he would go mute. X'D
LOL! Good comment! Sad but true.
I find the Noah's to by very herbal. Not my favorite bourbon.
Alot of mint and rye notes. I can see that. Cheers
Never got any floral, mostly peanut butter cup
Talks more about fruit and nuts than he does bourbon

This is an old video. My newer videos dont have this intro.
