I agree with him about the world wouldn't be that dead. It would be overgrown by plants. Which is why I always install plant mods for the game. I've done a lot of research about nuclear weapons, survival, etc for a post-apocalypse novel I'm writing. The smart bet is living near a target and dying a quick death.

Egypt and Iraq were once thriving cultures with prospering agriculture, but nowadays, not so much. Why? Climate change, partially natural and partially due to unsustainable agriculture practices some of which you can see up to present days, even the US with all its tech and above average freedom of the press starting to have a lot of issues due to draughts that are by no small part caused by people themselves due to prioritizing short term gains over long term sustainability.
Now consider that the majority of this game happening over 200 years later after nuclear exchange which would drastically change weather for decades thus resulting in large-scale extinction of species depending on the fine balance of the environment, and this mass extinction would accelerate further environmental changes as the environment is affecting living things as much as living things affecting the environment, just imagine if bees start dying on a large scale as is already happening due to chemicals used in agriculture, without them many plants cannot proliferate and without many plants and animals depending on them, erosion of the soil can turn green lands into deserts for centuries and the weather would change drastically beyond what current computers are capable simulate to predict due to complexity and wide-ranging effects of nuclear war.
So, comparing large-scale nuclear exchange with limited-scale disasters like Chornobyl really hardly makes any sense, the truth is that nobody knows for sure because we don't have the means to simulate such complex events, hell, wind tunnel tests of model aircraft being used to this day because computer airflow simulations are less accurate...

C'mon Buzzfeed, half of the video is about pre-war, not the wasteland. You guys didn't even show him "the Glowing Sea", the most dangerous part of the Commonwealth wasteland. He must have been stunned to see how a group of people manages to live like a normal person despite living in a irradiated bomb crater.

His comment that it's a 7 out of 10, some realism, but "I don't like it" hits the nail on the head.
That's why we really want to avoid the scenario completely. War is not a great solution - and what we would get is probably somewhere in between the Fallout universe and what we live in now. Not great. Scary.
Yup - this guy knows better. I'll follow him when it all goes to hell..:)

    210 years later.
Things that would not exist given the time frame.
    1. Radiation has long ago become background radiation. Anything that relies on radiation to live is dead. There is no ecosystem. Just like in Fallout 3.
    2. The raider gangs make no sense given their propensity for violence. Raiders, even the Brotherhood of Steel, steal from farmers, sometime killing them if they don't hand it over.
    Suicide for the raider gangs.
    3. You are right in that the Boston area ought to be overgrown given that no one has been doing maintenance.
    4. Just wait until you get into the settlement building. You will say, what the F is going on here?

@@Razzle_ll Okay but really, did you have a point? Fallout 4 is a very flawed game. New Vegas is a better RPG. Nobody seriously disputes these things. But we're allowed to enjoy games for our own reasons. I like Fallout 4 because I like the world and I like making insane settlements that inevitably crash my game. It's a hobby, not a lifestyle.
