mine does go away when clutch is pressed. This is driving me mad, important to note the rattling noise increases a lot when AC is on. the rattle is not heard above 1400 RPM regardless on which gear I am. i have a vw polo 1.4L 2012, no turbo

I have an issue similar to this, polo 2012, first start there is that knocking sound, untill ive driven the car a few blocks, when accelerating there is a ticking noise, my timing chain, belt, and lifters have been changed but the noise persist
I had noise similar to this on a Hyundai i10 1.2 I realized it was a normal belt and not a stretch belt and because of that the water pump was spinning freely so I also replaced it with a stretch belt
@@DashCamSerbia Large spanner on the bolt like used to release it, the tension is set with a geared bolt that moves the power steering pump along the rack, then you tighten the 13mm bolt to hold it secure.
I do not fully understand your question, I assume you are asking "But what if the noise is coming from your engine", if so it could be a few causes, such as a bearing knock, piston slap, worn hydraulic lifters, oil starvation causing knocking sounds on your can shaft, there are many possibilities, best to let a trained Mechanic check it for you. No problem yes I did I wouldn't have guessed a serpentine belt at all but as you say it hadn't been changed in awhile but then as you always say trial and error works works every time

Whining noises and leaking on the pump, also the impeller blades could be broken especially when the water is very brown due to rust in the cooling system., I hope that helps Bmziwenceba

Sounds like internal engine problems, to do with the pistons and/or bearings, good luck in getting it sorted Nyutron.

@@matt4ash Do an engine flush and oil change when due, use 10w40 engine oil and see if it goes away, if not it is probably the lifters that are worn.

It is safe to drive Morne as long as the belt does not snap.

I hope it was done properly as sometimes the use of cheap inferior parts equals a botched job, have it checked by an experienced mechanic.
