Metals and plastics only. I need to do a Lasers 101 video to cover this info. I'm trying to weave in sewing and embroidery videos too - I'm just so hyperfocused on lasers right now!!!
Congratulations on the new tool! Of course you had to engrave all your stuff, that's what we do with new things! 😂 At least you won't drop yours in the sink with the dishwater like we did with our brand new label maker. 😂 Yay! New toys! 🔫🐔 And of course I got an ad for the LaserPecker2 while watching your video! 🤣🤣🤣
DOH sorry for the ads... The 2 is nice as well, but it's a diode. I already have so many diodes and two lined up for review! Trying to keep these spread out a bit from the sewing content.
LOL. No worries about the commercials! I just thought it was funny! 😁 LOL Breathe, Honey, Breathe! Pace yourself! We're all excited about the new videos and tools, but keep a good pace with your recovery in mind. 🥰 - Kp0pf4nmom
Lasers are so fascinating, but also overwhelming, so I appreciate the review and info. That does seem like a super fun idea for personalizing things at craft fairs (I still don't own any personalized keychains). Also, I don't know who the heck came up with the product name, but you know dang well that someone is gonna try etching their manbits with it
RIGHT? Their socials are lit up with people pointing out the name LOL!!! I think it was meant to be a pun on Woody the Woodpecker. I can tell you right now I'm taking this one to the next craft fair I do AND I'm going to take it to a convention I'm attending in September (DragonCon). I need to label *everything*.
QUICK UPDATE [8/11/23]: It's actually a 1W fiber laser, not 10W. I was misinformed. Still gets the job done, but it's important to be accurate! Let me know what you think! I'm so flipping excited about this! The only regret I have is that the little circle jewelry blanks I ordered didn't get here in time for the video. I have always wanted to add jewelry to my shop - along with metal keychains. I just didn't have the capability to do so until now.
Also it isn’t even a fiber laser. It is 1064nm pulsed laser, “without” a fiber source. The title, thumbnail, and frankly the video needs to be changed. This is misleading the viewers.
Absolutely! Some blanks I've gotten: Great for zipper pull charms: www.amazon.com/StayMax-Stainless-Rectangle-Stamping-Pendants/dp/B09N33CNV2/ Great for bag tags - rivet or handsew them in via the holes: www.amazon.com/StayMax-Stainless-Rectangle-Stamping-Blanks/dp/B08YDGWQLC/ Same tags as above, but slimmer: www.amazon.com/StayMax-Small-Stainless-Rectangle-Numbered/dp/B0BN5P7RJL/
@@fiercekittenz Wow! Thanks so much for the links! You know, though, my husband is not going to be happy when I tell him I want one of these babies…I’m thinking if I move up to the new version that just came out I can cut anything. LOL Who would have thought I’d ever want a laser cutter-it’s all your fault! ;)
hi! I purchased this to do jewelry charms. sterling silver, copper, brass and gold filled. I struggle with the settings as I often can’t get any type of image on the metal. Do you have a guide or anything for settings that would be helpful? thank you
I don’t have one yet, but what worked best for me was to use 4k resolution, 100% frequency, 20 depth. On aluminum and stainless steel it makes a nice dark engraving!!!
I am trying to engrave sterling silver and 14k Gold filled blanks for jewelry making. I have tried different settings, but haven't been able to get it to work. What settings do you suggest?
OH HO HO! You're RIGHT! Sneaky sneaky when I was told it was 10! It's 10mw, not 10w. I'll add a correction comment and pin it. Thank you for the heads up!
@@fiercekittenz no problem, I know because I bought one last year & have been trying to sell it since, the lp4 is 10w diode & 2w fibre I’ll definitely be getting the lp4 , if ever I manage to sell the lp3😞
@@aliderees1344IMHO, keep it if you can swing it. It never hurts to have 2 lasers, especially if you have a lot of orders to churn through. The LP line is so nice and portable, too!

For this one, you can buy a companion rotary attachment that can do tumblers. They sent it to me with the laser, but I didn't get to play with it before reviewing. I can do that if you like?
I completely understand the name on the keychain struggle I have never found “Sydni” on ANYTHING! 😂
Does this one also engrave on other materials? Or is it only for metals?

Also, I would be interested to see this do dog collar buckles!
OOOH I bet it could, though I don't have any dog collars. I do have plastic buckles for 2" strap hardware. I may give that a try and post a short.

Try 4k resolution, 1 pass at 100% power, 100% depth
Do you have any ideeas on why my lo3 wont connect with bluetooth
No clue. You should reach out to their support.
The commercial was for the exact product. I have never seen that before.
They have a big Summer sale going on right now, so I'm not shocked!

@@Firstleaker Many reviewers are using 'fiber' wrongly to describe galvo lasers in general. Some are YAG or similar - very different.
