    I love your term. “Skincare is self care”. Thank you for that! I have quite a few essences I rotate in my day or night routine. And I’ve started using Cosx snail mucin 94%. It seems to seal in my other skincare. But it can be sticky if you use too much!

    Hi Tamara! One product I love is the DRMTLGY night cream. You introduced us to this product a while back, and I am HOOKED on it. I love how it makes my skin feel, and it seems to last all night long. Going to take your advice on getting a humidifier. I live in Cleveland and our winters are similar to yours. Loved seeing your beautiful pup snoozing in the background 💤 . Absolutely adorable. Hope you have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING! 💕💕

    Hi Tamara. I’m always amazed when people doubt Dr. Bowe. She coined the phrase skin cycling, but yes, most of us older, advanced skincare junkies have already been doing it. She goes on to discuss increasing active nights and dropping recovery nights out. I think she’s targeting the younger generations with this so they stop burn their faces off. I can’t tell you how many young people (in their teens and early 20s) are using products for “anti-aging” completely wrong. Then wonder why they’ve got hypersensitive, hyper reactive, peeling, sore, pimply, dry skin. Her general pt education is definitely geared towards beginners. I don’t even use actives every night. Dr. Bowe is really great at explaining her method. It’s basically what my Derm instructed me to do. I like the DRMTLGY pumpkin enzyme mask, but it was huge, I still have it from last year. Are you still using the Dr. Jart Cermidian (sp) cream? I finally got some on sale and it’s pretty good! I hope you have a wonderful holiday if you celebrate it! 😊💖💜

      I hope I didn't sound like I was disparaging Dr. Bowe (I wish she was still posting on her youtube channel...I'm not on TikTok)...her theory is great and hopefully helpful to skincare newbies and for sure over use of actives/exfoliation definitely does more harm than good. And yes, I just received a my third tube of Dr. Jart's Ceramidin Cream...super helpful for my extra dry winter skin, especially on days where I am doing outdoor activities. I love the protective feeling it gives my skin. Have a great week!

    Nice to see rephr is finally dipping their toes into the skincare world. Last year I ordered their Hydration Cream from their concept store, and gave feedback on it. Such a innovative company, using their customer’s to help develop their products. Love your pm routine, and I need to order more of the SS Urea Essence, but it’s out of stock right now. I’ve been also using the Needle-less Serum for a while now, and debating to continue with it or not. I’m 1/2 done with my 2nd 2oz. bottle, and really don’t think it’s helped much. 🤔 Finding a routine that works is a process, and you have to give each new product time to see results. I’m sensitive to Tret. so used retinol for a while, and have tried Maelove Retinal, and now am trying Avene Retinal. So far no irritation. Yay ! Retinal is as close as you can get strength wise to Tret.
    Thanks for showing us your pm routine. Your skin looked sooo hydrated when you were finished ! Wish I would have started on a retinol sooner. Better late than never ! Happy Thanksgiving ! 🦃🦃

    Tamara, Yes, I believe most of us already use some sort of skin cycling, i.e. rotating products like AHAs, Tretinoin, Vitamin C, Copper peptides, etc. FYI, Dr. Dray doubts whether using Retin A only once every 4 nights is going to be effective for most people, and I tend to agree. I've been using Retin A for over 30 years, and I use mine 5 nights a week, alternating with copper peptides on the other 2 nights.

    Isn't it funny how as soon the weather changes, our skin just turns into the desert? What a great idea to use a humidifier! I'm going to pull mine out just for that.
    Such good, good information Tamara, thank you! I end up slathering my face at night with a whole multitude of moisturizers but that's greatly decreased since I added the iUnik Beta Glucon serum before using my moisturizer(s), so that's my new favorite thing.
    Thank you also for all your great links to the amazing sales!

I was in Florida last week visiting family and my skin was so happy with the humidity...came home to 6 inches of snow on the ground and my skin just shriveled up LOL. I think you mentioned the iUnik serum before...just added to my cart! Thanks for sharing! ❤️

    Love these product ideas. I’m going to try the strata gold ( & yes they have a 30% off sale!) I’ve always had oily skin but with a high dose of Tret, my lips and nose tinted red the first windy cool day. Sometimes I won’t do all the steps I have, so I keep it to 5(cleanse,essence, Tret, moisturizer, balms. But if I’m feeling haggard I’ll try as many rec’s as you give! Again, another thesis on skincare, and no , you’re def NOT NUTTY❤HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO U & Bosley( I saw him on the couch ❤❤❤)

    We have a humidifier connected to our furnace. But I could probably benefit from having one in the bedroom. I wake up coughing with a dry throat😒too often. Some of the products I use are the Ordinary Niacinamide and their Lactic Acid 10% and the Timeless Vit. C. Paulas Choice BHA. Success with Grande Brow and Babe Lash. Yes to masking! Lastly, I think I need to start routine earlier in evening, otherwise I can be a bit of a slacker. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Tamara.🐿🦃🍁

    Hi Tamara I too love skincare and have extremely dry skin, but I also have both rosacea and eczema. This means my skin is very reactive and I have to be very careful with actives. My current night routine (cold weather or Winter routine) is:
    Double cleanse with an oil or balm followed by a gentle cleanser when wearing makeup. If no makeup then an oil or balm cleanser alone removes my spf and other grime from the day.
    Tone - currently the Curel enrich essence followed by the Laneige cream skin
    Serum or treatment- either retinaldehyde, prescription azelaic acid or calming serum
    Paula’s choice omega serum
    Benton fermentation eye cream
    Paula’s choice soothing body butter as my night cream- my skin is so dry right now that I need the richness this provides
    Best wishes x

I have gone back and forth with The Ordinary Mask...it is effective for sure...but it is just a little too strong for my skin at times. And a couple of my friends found it super irritating. If The Ordinary works for you thats great! I always get great results from Drunk Elephant without irritation so I decided to stick with Drunk Elephant. Yes, it's pricey...but using it once or twice a week it lasts a super long time. Have a great day!

    I can’t use an AHA mask or leave on product and Tretinoin too even if I alternate nights, it’s too much. I chose to stick with Tretinoin. I do use a SA face wash two or three mornings a week, can’t do more than that without drying out my skin. I also can’t use L Ascorbic Acid so only stabilized Vit C for me. Even some stabilized forms are too much, Sodium Ascobyl Phosphte is a no go. The only form of Vit C I trust is Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. I use that only in the morning. I keep my evening skincare very basic - double cleanse, moisturizing essence, Elf Holy Hydration moisturizer, Tretinoin (I can put it on my neck as well). I do that six nights a week the seventh night I skip the Tretinoin and add a second heavier moisturizer, sometimes I slug that night. Keeping it simple seems to work best for me.

My question is : doesn’t using both in the same routine create conflicts? Apparently not, according to your video … or does it depend on our skin reaction ? I have always tried to keep the two separate. I personally use retinol serum by La Roche Posay. I love your videos, but buying products in Italy it is not so easy, unfortunately… ❤ all the best

      Hi Antonella! There is some conflicting info on Vit C and Retinols...my impression is it's not that they don't work together...they don't cancel each other out...rather it is that L Ascorbic Acid and Retinol can both be irritating so together may be even more irritating. Also, typically L Ascorbic Acid is used in the morning to protect against free radicals. The Mad Hippie Cream doesn't contain L Ascobic Acid...rather it has 3 Vit C Derivatives which are not at all irritating. So sorry! I thought I replied...I have been slacking a bit on my NuFace. I'm down to once or twice a week which isn't really enough...I do think the science is there and I do think it has benefits, however the results are VERY subtle, the benefits are not long lasting and you really need to be consistent with it. I am much more religious with my Red Light Therapy Mask, Partly because it is easier...I can just wear it and walk around, and also because the conducting gel is sort of messy. I'm still glad I have the NuFace, and should probably recommit to it...but it's not a MUST have for me.

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  Рік тому

      The peelies are the frustating part of Tretinoin. Are you doing any type of exfolation? Even a gentle AHA toner should help keep them at bay. When I was trying the Rare Beauty Foundation a few weeks ago, it clung to every single dry patch I didn't even know i had, so that night I did my DE Sukari Baby Facial and the Line Smoothing Hydro Mask and the next day no peeling and the foundation looked great. But if your stuck and need to wear makeup, I would suggest a facial oil or occlusive cream to the peeling area hopefully to sort of seal the flakes more tightly to the skin...let it soak in and hopefully the dry patch won't be as noticable when you put the makeup on. Also, when you apply makeup, don't use a makeup brush on that area as the brush can "fluff" up the dry patch. Hope this helps!

      There is no problem with using them consecutively, but I would use the NuFace in the morning so the lift is fresh, and the Nira could be part of the evening routine, in case you get any redness from the Nira. I have used their mositurizer and cleanser, and do think they are both high quality, but I enjoy exploring and testing cleansers and moisturizers and tend to change them up with the seasons so I choose not to include them in my subscription. Having said that I have a friend that loves the entire Agency package and doesn't want to fuss with buying separate products. So it is just a matter of personal preference. Having said that I would still recommend a double cleanse in the evening with a balm or oil in addition to the Agency Cleanser to remove all traces of makeup/SPF.

      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  Рік тому

      Darn! I'm so sorry to hear that! But I can't think of any other comments saying these products sting the skin. My first thought was perhaps niacinamide, which many people find irritating, but neither of these products contain niacinamide. So I looked up the ingredients on the incidecoder and the only potentially irritating ingredient I could find is Isopropal Palmitate. I am linking incidecoder here...it is a great resource to deep dive ingredients. incidecoder.com/products/drmtlgy-peptide-night-cream
      I am sure DRMTLGY will take the products back, but Is it possible your skin's moisture barrier is impaired? One of the first signs of an impaired moisture barrier is products irritating or stinging the skin. You might try just using super simple, gentle skin care for a while to give your skin a rest from actives and then try again? Keep me posted!
