I can't get enough of watching videos of Eric Singer playing the drums. It's just amazing, wonderful to watch how skilled he is and how articulate he is and has fantastic hand coordination. And he has a beautiful voice! Sings very well. He's a very talented artist, an admirable rock star 🌟 and without a doubt he's a separate show within the band KISS tours. I have no doubt that Eric Singer is one of the best drummers in the world 🌎. I love you so much dear and beloved Eric Singer 🥰💖
He's been the MVP of this band since returning. Aside from his playing, he's also taken over a lot of the higher vocals that Paul obviously can no longer do.
@@stevedrums1675q- Yes, indeed. In fact, it would have been better Eric he had taken the lead vocals on some Paul songs. An example would be "Lick it Up". Also what I love about his playing is his tasteful use of the double bass. He throws it in for accents, but he doesn't overdo it as so many doubke-bass drummers do. For most of the song he lets the groove come through.
I always knew why the different musicians had monitors, then ear pieces. Never realized the drummer could not hear anything of the others without the monitor. Amazing, considering the drummer keeps the tempo.

I learned a ton from Peter Criss as a young drummer, but Eric has taken this song to a new level. I love the up/down cymbal crashes and nice off-time quadrupiletts in the bridge. Fantastic. His timing was spot on.

Serious question. Do drummers suffer from shoulder and elbow problems? Arthritis from all the physical abuse? This would destroy many of us. My utmost admiration to Eric and all drummers.
I'm not a pro drummer or anything, but I've played drums for a long time and have many friends who have played much longer than I and are substantially better than I am. From my experience, I would say no; outside of any naturally occurring arthritic conditions that are congenital and otherwise unavoidable. With the caveat that you're using proper technique. Those quick rolls, ghost notes, and the like typically utilize the natural rebound of the stick bouncing off the drum head in a controlled fashion. Ideally, like with most musical instruments, it's more about endurance than physical prowess, in that if you're feeling your body tense up and you're trying to muscle things out, that usually means that you're using bad technique. The economy of motion and proper body position that allows drummers like Eric to play for an hour in sound check, hours in rehearsal/ warm up, then hours playing the gig all on the same day will typically not irritate his joints to the point of causing arthritis. If anything, I would think that the constant use of those joints like this would help to prevent arthritis in the long run. Sorry to go on the rant lol but that's my experience
Wow ,that ain't like the old days ,you would not be able to hear the drums at all! They have those earpiece monitors ,so you dont hear his side monitors with the mix in there ,and all the sound is pointed out past the band. I'm deaf from the way stages use to be set up, it was louder than Hell! It's amazing wow.

They would have sold more merch and had more legit fan interest if they had two new characters. These guys are good players and deserved to have their own place in Kisstory. This happened because they didn't see the long haul they just had promoters saying no old make up no money.

He said he asked Paul if he was in make up what would his character be and Paul's answer was The Hawk. Which I thought was cool at the time. Fast forward to after the reunion and Peter Criss leaves they brought Eric and I was so hoping they would unveil his character and sadly we see what happened. I for one as a long time Kiss fan love The Fox and The Ankh Warrior as much as the original four and really wished they had let Eric and Tommy be their own and over time create their characters. It was a lost opportunity in my opinion and if they had done that and now done a legit final tour your could have had the Cat and the Hawk drumming together, Ace/Tommy on stage together without anyone feeling like they are stepping on each other's toes. Imagine how cool it would be and how much promoters would pay for a 6 man Kiss band all in make up???? See they should have hired me as manager instead of Doc. LOL
Absolutely. THIS is not Kiss, it's a Simmons/Stanley Kiss tribute band. Carr and Vincent had their own makeup and costume themes. That was still Kiss. Then they went without makeup and had Kulick on guitar. But it was still Kiss. Whoever dreamed this crap up - having two hirelings dressed as Peter and Ace - (whether it be promoters or managers or even Simmons and Stanley themselves) should be ashamed. But I guess they're hanging their heads all the way to the bank. In a few years, Singer will have lived this embarrassment down and be involved in something worthwhile and Thayer will be a guitar tech again. If there's any justice, that is.

Don Ceballos drummers get bored and add things sometimes. Also adrenaline kicks in and if you’re not careful, there will be no pauses between beats which is what happened here. Slow down and control the meter. He did get better towards end of song though.
For starters, Peter didn't play on the original. A session payer was brought in because Bruce Fairburn (the Producer) didn't think Peter could cut it. And there was also money and contract disputes between Peter and Gene & Paul. Peter's skills were never in the same time zone as Eric Singer, so Eric can obviously do more and play more than Peter could. It's not a knock, it's just different levels of talent.

sorry, i am not a drummer. but from his position, you just hear no nothing. so how does he know what is going on and what the other ones play. how does he know what part of the song they are playing? dont you have to hear the bass and the guitar and singing for orientation???
There is a mixing console on the side of the stage that gets all of the instruments and vocals. The mixing console has many separate outputs. Each musician and even the crew get their own mix of whatever they want. Then the mixes usually go wireless nowadays to ear pieces. Back in the day they used speakers on the stage. Some people still use speakers. A drummer might have a sub woofer for the kick drums. Sometimes there are speakers used in case the in ear monitors fail. Way back when like in the 60's the drummer would hear what is in this video which is not much. Gotta respect them old timers. Sound advanced greatly in the 70's.
Solid enough but pretty basic Kiss fodder so he can do with it what he can. Kiss are never going to need a technical drummer like an Anton Fig or Vinnie C. The music just doesn’t demand it, same as a lot of bands of that Ilk Motley Crue etc

Its mostly carpal tunnel syndrome if you dont take care of your wrists, dont warm up before playing or hitting too hard...

Eric is technically more gifted, but Peter had a particularly cool feel back in the 70's. Peter's recent celebration highlighted some of his skills.
You should check Peter's playing on this song in KISS Symphony. Very nice, but Eric;s playing in another higher level.

sorry, i am not a drummer. but from his position, you just hear no nothing. so how does he know what is going on and what the other ones play. how does he know what part of the song they are playing? dont you have to hear the bass and the guitar and singing for orientation???

In ear monitors
There is a mixing console on the side of the stage that gets all of the instruments and vocals. The mixing console has many separate outputs. Each musician and even the crew get their own mix of whatever they want. Then the mixes usually go wireless nowadays to ear pieces. Back in the day they used speakers on the stage. Some people still use speakers. A drummer might have a sub woofer for the kick drums. Sometimes there are speakers used in case the in ear monitors fail. Way back when like in the 60's the drummer would hear what is in this video which is not much. Gotta respect them old timers. Sound advanced greatly in the 70's.
I am a drummer, and in situations where you cannot hear the band, you must know your material. Period. A good drummer should rely on himself.

Solid enough but pretty basic Kiss fodder so he can do with it what he can. Kiss are never going to need a technical drummer like an Anton Fig or Vinnie C. The music just doesn’t demand it, same as a lot of bands of that Ilk Motley Crue etc
