As a die hard Peter Criss fan, I don't hate Eric Singer, just in Peter's prime, Singer couldn't hold Peter's drumsticks!!!! And also, Peter Criss voice is by far the best voice in Kiss ever!!!
Must have been huge boots to fill after Eric Carr's passing who for so many was the best Kiss drummer in the most difficult time for the band. Eric Singer is lucky to be far more accepted Vs Ace's replacement.
But, as Eric himself pointed out, he had already been involved with KISS so the fans knew he was the right guy. The only complaint I have ever heard was that Eric was wearing Peter's make up and stage gear, nothing about ability.
It was a bad thing to happen, as many people said, Paul Stanley killed Carr, Kiss was Eric Carr's life, all that mattered to him, the thing he loved the most. Paul went to tour with Singer and didn't consider Carr for his solo tour, then Carr knew he was being replaced anyway, he wasn't wrong, when he got sick, Kiss instead of waiting for him to get better or asking him first, they just did the record with Singer. Carr died after those events.

I actually prefer Eric Carr over Eric Singer for the fact that Eric Carr had a thunderous sound & reminds me so much like the late John Bonham, especially when you listen to Creatures Of The Night. But Eric Singer was the logical choice to succeed Eric Carr. Eric Singer is no Eric Carr or even John Bonham, but he is a very focused musician, and a real workaholic. If I ever get my (Jazz) band up and running after KISS retires, Eric Singer is the man I'd call.
I honestly don't know who is the better drummer, Singer or Carr. But I lean towards Singer being better. He's so precise- he's like a machine. I think Carr may be the better fit for Kiss tho. I could be wrong
Eric, just a talented drummer and singer, pun not intended. Listen, this guy is doing his job, as musicians our true love is making and performing music. As he said in the interview, Paul personally asked him to join. So if anybody has a beef with any of them, I think you should direct them to Paul or Gene, they own KISS and are sole owners of the Cat image now, Peter sold it to them. So maybe you should go after Peter for selling rather than dogging this guy who's just doing what he likes to do..
@@philhudson...5017 The trademark belongs to Kiss, Peter sold it. Gene and Paul gave it to Eric to wear. As far as the present is concerned, the trademark is being used by Eric and he makes it his own. Have a good day.
Eric Singer is a great drummer, fortunate to play with several of the best bands in the rock world. He reminds me of Tommy Aldridge, that kind of musician who has an amazing and long curriculum vitae. And Eric Singer is a great singer too. I like his work with Badlands
Great interview from a great musician. First time to hear anything from him personally and I have to apologise to the entire Kiss family (I'm and original Kiss Army member) and organization for not giving the band and the organization the love and respect they deserve for overcoming the hard times for us the fans. Hats off now.

Trust me, I'm not even a KISS fan, but if anyone out there thinks it was HIS decision to don Peter Criss' "cat" makeup your delusional. That call was purely made by Gene and Paul and most likely a slap at Peter Criss.

Here's what I say to all of those out there that bad-mouth about Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. First of all , don't blame them at all. They were hired to do a job, if it were you, you'd do the same thing. Second of all, Peter and Ace are NOT coming back together with Gene and Paul, period. They tried it with the reunion stuff and it worked for a while but then they split up again. That will be it, forever. So to all of you bad-mouthers about the replacements: KISS fans have one of two choices: accept Eric and Tommy and enjoy the fact that KISS is still around, especially with Gene in his 60's and Paul pushing 60 or maybe there now. Enjoy that at their ages they still get up and tour and give a heck of rock show and great classic songs and are able to do it. Or you can take the second choice and see KISS as a band come to and end, and have nothing but vids and cds to enjoy their music. So you people had better be thankful that Gene and Paul aren't listening to you whiners out there and disband the band because of yall whining about two replacements. No, there will never be another Peter and Ace, but look at all the bands that have replaced members and kept going. Ron Wood replaced Brian Jones when he died, Paul Rodgers replaced Freddie Mercury when he died, Vivian Campbell replaced Steve "Steaming" Clark when he died, Scott Travis replaced Dave Holland when he was arrested sexual crimes, I could go on and on, but hopefully you get the point. many bands have to replace someone because of reasons we don't all know. So whine if you must, but it's either replace the ones that will not be in the band, or just disband altogether. So shall you keep whining?
george levy You have your opinion and I have mine. I understand how many people feel about Peter and Ace's makeup character being used on Eric and Tommy. I get it people, I get it! yes, Eric Carr did have the fox as his character and Vinnie Vincent had the Egyptian crap( glad he didn't last very long), but Gene and Paul wanted to keep the originality of the band with the four original characters in the makeup. It's not about someone coming in and pretending to be Peter or Ace, it's about the characters they all portrayed in the original lineup. That is the way I look at it and I won't see it any differently. So you can call my argument bull**** if you want. I have the balls to speak out for how I feel about this issue when most others that feel this way don't. If they had of had Eric and Tommy in a different character than Peter's and Ace's, I would have been fine with that too. But they didn't and I'm ok with it. I prefer the original lineup as you and many others do, but I also prefer the band to continue as a band since Peter and Ace are not coming back. The Stones have been around since the 60's, and except for Bill Wyman leaving the band, it is still the original members, except for Brian Jones being replaced by Ron Wood due to Brian's death. If they can hang tight for this long, then why can't we as fans be happy that KISS is still around rocking since the 70's even with two different members that the original?
thecoolestdad Kiss is a dead band. They have become a traveling Las Vegas style act. They have stopped growing and developing as a band. They have not put out any new music for a very long time. Monster was their last album of new material. They have sold out and are running on empty and riding the nostalgia train when they could still scale new musical heights and continue to progress as a band. Two bands exemplify what I am trying to convey. The first band is Duran Duran. This band has continued to grow and progress as a band and not just ride the nostalgia train. Paper Gods was a top album for them and many critics and fans would agree was one of their best albums. Duran Duran fans appreciate that the band loves their fans so much that the band continues to progress as a band and offer their fans new music. Europe is the second band. Europe rocks harder now than Kiss ever could. Europe also has released one of their best albums to date Walk The Earth. If Kiss and Europe would ever do a battle of the bands, Europe would “Walk The Earth” all over Kiss and its wannabes members. Personally, I never liked Eric Singer as a drummer. I wonder if his name is really Eric Singer, or he chose Eric Singer because it emulated Eric Car’s name. May he get a skin infection from his toxic cat makeup!
thecoolestdad I don’t think people are upset that Ace and Peter were replaced, it’s the fact that their replacements are wearing their makeup. It’s just odd.
Why are people so ignorant? "Peter Criss is catman not you!" First of all Peter Criss left the band. Second of all Eric Carr died. What were they supposed to do huh? Have no drummer, well that's stupid. They desperately needed Eric Singer. So if everybody would just shut up about him being non original, that would be great
@@christopherchuauhang4829 Yes, Eric stole Peter's make up but he keep is own drum playing style. For me, Peter is number one but i like Eric's drum style too. On the other side, Tommy wear Ace's make up and he try to be him. He's like a cheap Ace.

George Price, Sebbur is right, Eric Carr's first choice was the Hawk, Paul Stanley said he looked like Big Bird in a dress rehersal so the idea was axed, Eric Carr than came up with the Fox!

You have your opinion and I have mine. If they can hang tight for this long, then why can't we as fans be happy that KISS is still around rocking since the 70's even with two different members that the original?
thecoolestdad PREACH! I LOVE ERIC SINGER.HE INSPIRED ME TO DRUM
thecoolestdad Kiss is a dead band.
It’s just odd.
always love hearing KISS alive 3,he was on fire.
Eric es el baterista que más tiempo ha acompañado a kiss
Eric Singer is a fine drummer & has always sounded locked tight w/KISS.💫✨🎶
Nothing against Eric. Seems like a nice guy. That Badlands record was awesome, btw.
Great interview! He's the Best to me!

Peter criss was fired because of drugs and behavior.
Peter got fierd.
Nobody had a problem with Eric Singer up until he wore Peter’s makeup.
@@christopherchuauhang4829 Yes, Eric stole Peter's make up but he keep is own drum playing style. For me, Peter is number one but i like Eric's drum style too. On the other side, Tommy wear Ace's make up and he try to be him. He's like a cheap Ace.
the most consistent drummer (live & studio) in KISS whole timeline , who didn't fall into drug addiction or have dillusion of grandeur or trying to be the original member~
👍
For me Eric SINGER is the best drummer like Peter CRISS and Eric CARR.
Been a kiss fan since 77 Eric is cool with me..haters are always gonna hate
He’s an amazing drummer, i still think he should get his own make-up persona. Well what ever.
I wish Eric Carr was still here it would be cool to see him now days R.I.P Eric Carr long live the fox
Eric is as cute as a kitty!
Eric's story is just about like mine, I started taking lessons about 11 too and the potss and pans too!
There's only ONE Cat--Peter Criss. Eric should have his own makeup persona.
he was actually going for the hawk before
no that was eric carrs first make up ideas lol
ALICE
Sebbur no,Carr was The Fox.
George Price, Sebbur is right, Eric Carr's first choice was the Hawk, Paul Stanley said he looked like Big Bird in a dress rehersal so the idea was axed, Eric Carr than came up with the Fox!
I love eric singer
Q : do you know what a metronome is?
A : A little short guy from the big city.
God bless Y'all.
I saw KISS recentley at Shoreline ampitheater in Mountain View CA. Eric Singer was awesome (I am a drummer by the way) as someone mentioned below he is so flawless and smooth and makes drumming an art. By the way my 1st drumming idol was Peter Criss. I play Pearl drums to this day because of Peter. 2nd ebven though I love Ace, Tommy Thayer is an awesome guitarist. I really enjoyed the latest show. I took my grandson (he is 5 and a HUGE fan) and my son in law. My 7th time seeing KISS.
Oh my god. He is beautiful.
Eric singer has adapted the double bass drums from eric carr I noticed, and on 1 of his monster costume jackets, he has the japanese symbol on it that eric carr had on his crazy nights drums
I first discovered Kiss with the MTV Unplugged Show and I found Eric's and Bruce's playing absolutely brilliant. Great musicians even if they are not founding members.
it's 2021 eric singer now is a great singer and great drummer 😍👍
KISS rocks!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday Eric Singer
People need to stop hating on Peter Criss, he’s an amazing drummer and he’s part of KISS
Eric was in Badlands and Gary Moore. Respect 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Kiss is my favorite band and I want to see there final tour but the tickets are like 200 dollars
It's worth it
It definitely is
@@TruckSpotterJake probably one of the greatest farewell tours in Rock history I am going to see the Stones in June so many people hate KISS because they no longer have the original line up I have nothing against the current line up if you want the best KISS will find a way to give you the best
@@dansweet2499 I saw them in Peoria il on Saturday and they were awesome I liked the tracklist a lot because they sang more of the older songs just my opinion though
@@TruckSpotterJake KISS will always be Great no matter what In my opinion Elvis Presley, KISS and Michael Jackson will be on the top ten entertainers of all time
