- VN24 - 27.05.2021 - Kamen / Germany - A rather serious truck accident occurred in the early afternoon on the A1 freeway heading south just a few hundred meters behind the Kamen intersection (A2 / A1). Apparently, the driver of a trailer truck had not noticed in time that the traffic in front of him came to a standstill. Exactly in his lane, one of five at this point, there was a queue of trucks. He hit the car transporter in front of him and pushed it also onto the tractor-trailer of the man in front of him. The driver's cab literally bored into the loading platforms of the car transporter and became stuck in them. Surprisingly, only the driver of the semi-trailer truck in front suffered any injuries. All the others involved escaped with the scare. No one was trapped. The recovery of the individual vehicles proved difficult and took several hours.

In the UK 🇬🇧 the motorway would have been closed in both directions for at least 12 hours while officials make notes and take pictures before attempting to remove the vehicles.
Germany 🇩🇪 does it right, quickly and efficiently with the least interruption to other road users. Great job 👏
The same would be true here in the US. There will be no traffics on that road for endless hours while tons of Police and Firefighters cars will be allover. Ridiculous!! Way to go Germany.
@Clive Goss. - I quite agree, but don't forget half of them are probably 'jobsworths' trying to show they "know it all", that is after the Police have sprayed so many lines on the road it looks more like a kiddies play area. I saw one once after it had been raining, very carefully spraying lines in puddles of water - idiot.
@John C The Police will likely always want to have 1 lane open. As a Paramedic i sometimes dislike this because it more likely crash another truck in the crash Site.
The driver of the MAN obviously not paying attention, failed to notice the traffic in front had come to a stop. All the skills of the Kollmer recovery crew put to the test in dealing with this difficult recovery. Well done.

Жесть, сколько уже посмотрел видео, мурашки по коже. Но хочу сказать у вас отлично работает система. Все оцепляют, если надо закрывают, машины в хорошем состоянии (спецтехника). Только в России этого нет, фуры по несколько суток могут лежать в кувете на обочине. Могут знаки поставить, чтобы объезжали. 21 век, а как будто в 18 веке живешь. Но при случае дай, заплати. Some nice closes ups of the car transporter bed damage VN 24 .Quite a mess of those cars as well. See the Boss decided a 2 to 1 pull with the snatch block was better than a straight line.Have to say the Beast Driver works hard on these jobs as they all do .

Never-ever in a million years in California, USA, would Caltrans and independent towing companies clean up the spills as they do in Germany. Bringing out a vac truck with sprayers to clean debris and oils/fuel from travel lanes would NOT occur in CA. We just leave the wrecks car parts and truck parts kicked to the side of the road and left for ions. The difference is caring and having pride is why Germany exceeds and they should be proud to do such great traffic control and highway accident cleanups. Well done gentlemen.
With a speed limit of up to 120 km/h it would be a major safety issue to clean debris from the roadway.
Stricter regulations here in Europe 👌 as it should be, we are dumping enough crap into nature as it is..

I'm guessing the doors on the Renault were bit tight in the frames after that, the grab rails a bit nearer the steering wheel and the floor had a few extra wrinkles in it. That's just my experience of Renault transporters after they have been pushed into a trailer though.

All were damaged if you look closer, some more than others. The white BMW underneath looks the most affected . Body work is relatively easy to repair it will be wether the chassis and mechanical components are undamaged. Costly business either way.
In some countries slow moving you have to hazards on there seems to a lot of this sort of accident

Wann wird es endlich Pflicht eine vernüntige Fahrerschulung zu machen um die Strassen sicherer zu machen. Aber das kostet ja Geld und den Erfolg sieht man täglich auf der Strasse. Ich selber habe es bei meinen Auftraggebern angesprochen und die Schäden und schlimmeres wurden weniger.
Wenn ich mit Fahrern die Ihren vorläufigen Busführerschein hatten um in Deutschland fahren zu dürfen,ein sog. Praktikum machen, musste ich einen Bericht abgeben wie der Fahrer sich verhält.
Bei Neueinstellungen war erst eine Probefahrt mit einen Bus der erste Schritt bevor er / Sie alleine fahren durften. Ich persönlich meine das macht Sinn um sich daran zu gewöhnen. Auch wurden praktische Dinge gelehrt wie Reifen wechseln und Schneeketten anlegen. Da sollte man mal drüber nachdenken.
Wenn, dann schon richtig!
Da müsste man schon bei den PKW und Radfahrern anfangen, welche inzwischen ja noch nicht einmal "Rechts vor Links" mehr kennen, bzw. es nicht mehr ungesetzt bekommen.

Why did they not have a type of flat bed trailer what we over here in America call a lowboy to haul the blue truck away with that severe of suspension damage? That is how it would’ve been hauled away over here.
It's called a Lowloader over here..
Probably bridge clearance. Height limit is 4 metres and the blue truck reaches that limit. Putting it on a flat bed would increase height by a couple inches, which actually is enough to cause trouble with signs and bridges.
Plus, considering the regulations for load security when trying to load it onto the flat bed and/or securing it for transport, I guess the method shown will be faster here in Germany...

ist doch immer und immer wieder dasselbe...bin selbst teilweise noch LKW-Fahrer im Nebenjob... wenn man denn mal Abstand hält, wird man reihenweise überholt... und muss selbst immer mehr abbremsen... wenn da nicht absolut mehr kontrolliert wird...

Na ich weiß nicht - der wird den Führerschein sicher leider nicht verlieren, steigt dann in den nächsten LKW und fährt so weiter. Und beim nächsten Mal triffts u.U. wie vor ein paar Jahren eine junge Familie mit 2 Kindern.
@@christiang.9485 naja pauschal kann man vieles sagen,aber es kann immer passieren das es ein medizinischer grund war,was selten vorkommt.Meist raserei zu wenig Abstand unaufmerksam und Systeme aus..Osrblock 90% ohne Rücksichtnahme Üverholverbot Abstand..Wo sind die Kontrollorgane..
...und was für ein Glück. Ein Kollege hat mir einmal von so einem Unfall berichtet, an dem er vorbeigeleitet wurde... da war der Autotransporter leer und das Deck war oben. Die Vorderseite des aufgefahrenen LKW war nach seiner Beschreibung auf der Fahrerseite rot... und das war keine Farbe / Lackierung.
Daher die Bitte an alle Fahrer von solchen Tranportern und Fahrzeugen mit ähnlichen Aufbauten... fahrt bei Leerfahrten und wenns möglich ist die oberen Decks nach unten bzw. zieht bei entsprechenden Aufbauten einen eventuellen Unfall mit ins Kalkül.
Kipper sind z.B. ähnlich gefährlich... aber da kann man als Fahrer nichts machen, hier geht nur jedem der hinterherfährt zu besonderer Vorsicht und etwas mehr Abstand zu raten.
Ich hab -auf einem Planensattel- z.B. lange Stahlträger soweit möglich immer nach rechts geladen... damit ich diese bei einem Auffahrunfall nicht hinter meinem Rücken habe... und auch ein auffahrender Kollege hätte dabei den Vorteil gehabt, dass sich meine Ladung nur in seine Beifahrerseite des Führerhauses bohrt und nicht links, wo der Fahrer sitzt.
Das ist, was die Deutschen bedeuten, gut gemacht.
