    This is somewhat encouraging. Started both about 2 years ago and stopped after 6 months after initially hearing that it takes 3-6 months to see results. And then seeing more videos like this one where it can take a year or more for some people. I am hoping I am one of those few where it takes longer (1 year +). I started again this January, we'll see.

      I'm in the same boat. I'm on month 5. I was ready to give up on month 3 (just wit minoxidil, not finasteride, because finasteride has COMPLETELY stopped my hair loss) but instead did more research and doubled down with microneedling. I hope we'll see amazing results soon.

    The point of minoxidil is for regrowth though, it won't prevent baldness, what prevents baldness are 5ar inhibitors like finasteride and dutasteride which actually blocks the conversion of DHT which is what causes hair loss. If you're trying to stop hairloss and maintain what you have, you need to hop on finasteride, use the minoxidil for regrowth.
    Both take 6 months to a year to see results, maybe even longer.

    • @spzenza707
      @spzenza707 Рік тому +1

      That is correct, although you see hair growing by using minoxidil only, eventually you will lose it because the DHT will catch up and the hair growth cant keep up. That's where finastride comes in to decrease DHT and fight hair loss

    I mil 2x a day (per area) for me that was 6 mil a day. Shedded like crazy but my scalp was already a disaster. When I used it religiously 2x a day per affected area, 2-3 months the under growth thicken, bald areas sprouted fine hair and the shedding continued. 3-6 months slowly thickening of the finer hair and filling in of gaps. Don’t stop using the juice, your hair didn’t fall out overnight and neither will its re birth.

    I heard that minoxidil stops working after certain period of use. It could be because a body becomes immune to minoxidil, it adapts to it and starts to produce more dht which then binds to follicles, causing hair shrinkage. Minoxidil is short rather than long term solution, so if you want to keep hair, you need to take different treatment like fin or get transplant.

    • @BobDerm
      @BobDerm 3 місяці тому +1

      Minoxidil does not affect the DHT pathway, but rather has an effect on potassium channels. There are very few medicines that truly "stop working" for hair loss. Rather, as multiple pathways can cause hair loss, other pathways may become dominant. Certainly combining minoxidil with other medicines like finasteride will provide superior results.

    It only works quickly when you stop for under 3-4 months of use and decide to use it again because you changed your mind after losing hair you gained from using it.

      Takes 4-5 weeks to grow back dot looking follicles after you used it for years and stopped because you got mad and realised 50% what you gained disappeared but the good news is if it’s not longer then 5 months of stopping use, it will grow back out again. They say after 6 months of not using it you lost the hairs forever

      I tell my patients to discontinue the topical after a few weeks on oral, as the topical is no longer necessary. For those who prefer to use both, most will use the topical once at night. It is not necessary to use both at the same time.

      These two things are completely different treatments. They can't replace each other in any way. Finasteride halts hair loss by blocking DHT. Minoxidil promotes hair growth. They should be used together because both effects are needed. Finasteride is pointless if you already lost a lot of hair that isn't growing back. Minoxidil is pointless if the hair continues to fall out.
