    Killer explanation of how your setup was on the shoot. I've never used timecode and a few of these tools you showed, always learning something new on your channel!! Thanks for sharing as always!

    Never thought that we could plug in the shotgun directly to the zoom recorder

    As a person who has to do it all, corporate video, there is always a part that suffers, from creative to final edit and mixing. Audio is what do my best to make sure is great. Because even when shots are bad if the audio is on-point the product can have some visual defects or saved with text of b-roll.
    I use 788t with a K6 inside a blimp with dead cat on, for corporate work I've found the dead cat relaxes people as they imagine it as an animal.

      Having good audio helps make the rest of the production in post go smooth, if something is off it can really add a lot to a project.

    Lectrosonic! I've never even gotten to touch one!
    I actually got some small anxiety watching you hit format...
    All my clocks are military time. This is so cool! Time code would be so helpful.
    Thanks for always pushing our knowledge!

      Thanks for stopping by Yoni! I didn't know much about using the 788t or lectrosonic but the sound mixer on the production before me got me up to speed on all his gear. Pretty cool stuff.

    Thank you so much Javier I really do appreciate your reply. I am trying to sync up footage and audio that will be recorded separately. But the footage is being recorded from IP cameras so I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out how to set up my time code so that everything is in sync. I work for an audio and video equipment company and the software that is being used to record the footage off of the IP cameras is what's being written and it is recording a second delay one camera after another and I am supposed to sync it back up, as well as sync the audio. I am also trying to see if a clapperboard is needed or would be helpful in this case since it is such odd as to what I am used to. I would love any knowledge on any part of this! And again thank you, thank you so much!

    This was my first time getting to use the Sound Devices 788t, pretty cool device for audio people.

      Have you tried the Scorpio??

    • @SoundSpeeding
      @SoundSpeeding 2 роки тому +1

      @@bruhdabones Scorpio is a huuuuge leap forward from the 788T, as the 7 Series got kinda "replaced" by the 6 Series, which in turn got replaced by the 8 Series. (I've had my 8 Series for over two years now. The Scorpio is part of the 8 Series) At each life cycle of each generation for sound equipment tends to be quite long compared to camera tech. So there was a huge time gap in evolution between the 788T and Scorpio!

    Hi nice video! i got a question, do you know what do i need to do if i have to send audio to the director and the script so they can liste and monitor while i´m recording? For Example if i have 3 characters with levaliers and a boom, how do i let them listen ? i dont know i i explained myself but it would be really nice if you could help me with this.

    • @JavierMercedes
      @JavierMercedes  2 роки тому +2

      I think what you are referring to is comtek. Think of it as wireless listening devices that you send a mix to from the field mixer. Hopefully that gives enough context to know what to research Marisa!

    An easier way to think of military time for me is to think in reverse remove the first digit & remove 2 so 18:30 you remove the “1” which leaves you with “8:30” then subtract 2 from the hour place which will bring you to “6:30 pm”

    Hi Javier, justa quick question.. i record roughly 100 clips daily for a TV production shoot and the scenes contain atleast 4 characters audio (Tr1, Tr2, Tr3 and Tr4) recording in a digital recorder (zoom 4track recorder). How do we sync all those seperate 4 tracks audios to a single video clip (general audo sound) and so on till i hit the last shot...??
