I’m a 13 year IATSE production sound mixer in film/tv and between my package, my sound utility’s package which is on reserve as a backup cart for first unit or can be deployed to run an additional second unit and my boom operator’s box rental package we are easily over $300,000. It is easy to get there really fast.
@@homeboi808 Nah, depends on where you live. I had to start with a U$300 kit cuz where I live shit's just overpriced and we get paid so much less for film jobs.
it def is once you break off into basic entry level production its not even enough. that kit is good for a 1 person sit down interview, you can scale it up to 6 to be flexible if you compromise on the mic and get cheaper booms/ stands
Although I understood that it’s an Ad for your audio course, I finished the video and pressed like. You guys are truly putting value in every video you add to UA-cam or to the courses. Thanks guys!
All the old stuff was classic, but for $1,000 today you can buy some incredible stuff that comes amazingly close to the sounds of the past. And there are a lot of choices that make it really hard to make referrals or suggestions for new purchases.
Rode wireless go II for lav mic. The best of all worlds. It not only transmits so you can monitor it, but it records and you can also split the track for a safety track. This mic has saved my life on several occasions. And it's a round 300 bucks. Very affordable.
@@JS-rh6cs The Rode Wireless Go II? I know it's not perfect, but I wouldn't say it has many downsides. What are some you consider it to have? Also, love your IG pro, your work is 🔥🔥
I have several music videos in my channel, and all of them were made with Garageband or Logic Pro, the Behringer UM2, my 50 dollar Peavy guitar and a 5 dollar mic... :P I would absolutely love to have a pro studio worth millions of dollars, but, you can absolutely do cool and fun things with "starter" type of equipment ImI
He doesn't use all this on a shoot, he uses a small part of it..as the other dude says, its majority backup gear..u spend 2k on a system, you good, and ive been on many large sets..
Don't get that Neewer boom. At the very least get the K-Tek Airo. Brenden knows that the boom mic is highly important and you can't skimp on it. The Mogami cable too but what about the shockmount? That's also important and the Rycote Invision series Lyre is a great first choice. Also, it's important to not refer to a sound package as a kit. It's not a kit. The sound Mixer's S-Corp or incorporated business is a vendor with rented gear insured via COI by the production. Kits are often not covered by production insurance and on the paperwork, if it breaks, it's on the kit owner. Very different.
because of the preamps and compression, most of the cameras have awful preamps and a lot of compression (even using manual audio level), also if yo want to record something longer than 30 mins a lot of cameras have that recording limit and recorders not.
Is it a clever idea to purchase as much audio stuff as possible from one brand or should I get a mix of everything? (Note: I'm a huge fan of Sennheiser but also Shure and Rode)
Hey, I am looking to buy my first camera and I am really frustrated, Do i get the M50 mark ii or (SL3) 250D. I need the camera for creating cinematic videos and some photography on the side, any tip or advice would be really appreciated! Thanks
I like how the thumbnail for this video has the 100k image full of cheaper crap, then the 1k image shows less, but way more expensive higher end gear lol
I got the Rode Blimp 2 for mine and works great (it has the new Rycote Lyre suspension system). Other than that, anything suitable from Rycote but you are paying a bit more.
don't stress. there is so much more to it than just having all the gear, practically nobody starts with all the kit they will need as a professional. the a7IV is new and shiny but for the most part a7III is still a great go to option for quite a bit less. I'm starting to record POV stuff and I thought the gopro 8 was expensive when I first bought it new, now I realise I still needed to get it a frame, buy massive memory cards, prepare a battery pack, filters, mics etc if I want to start using it for high quality material. I'm so glad I didn't buy a cheap action cam, but I could probably have spent the money better by waiting 3 months for the 9 to come out.
Another day, another gimmicky "expensive vs cheap" clickbait comparison from these guys. Feels like time to clean this channel out of my subscription feed.
Dude my full camera kit is around 1000 dollars. At least that's what I tell my wife..
😂😂 that's what I tell my wife
I have a $20 Lav Mic that connects to my phone which is both my camera and audio recorder! Now that is a Beginner's kit!

Fun video. I wouldn't necessarily call a $1000 audio kit beginner though
So true
It is for a professional though, for sure not for a hobbyist.

When it comes to audio, Brenden is the man !
I always appreciate the knowledge he throws at us (plus he's a super funny dude)

هههههه و الله صح ❤️
“And the winner for the biggest gear acquisition syndrome goes to…”
It was the essential oils that did it for me.

For a recorder I would go with the new tascam which does 32 bit float. True it's $500, but agian, with the not having to worry about bad audio.

I was thinking the same surprised it didn’t get an honorable mention ha
it has many downsides to use this

Really enjoying Brendan’s cameos. Smart well spoken guy.
Auto white balance and auto ISO really caught me off guard. I couldn't stop laughing.
Here we are

80 dollar cable???
Love the out of frame example. Sad that it was even necessary to explain it but you couldn’t have done a better job.
The lowest end mic you recommend is $700!!!!???
thats very cheep for film audio
Brenden for the win!
Me using a $160 lave mic.... uh..... this is gold!
Dude's a god and so many don't even realize it.
there is massive jumps between the 20 dollar IEM and 600 or even 1000 dollars. But as you get higher the sound difference becomes less and less
Now that's some sick information and fun to watch even though I would never need the information
Lol
YAS MOAR BRENDEN CONTENT
does Brendan also compose music?
Could someone explain or answer me why you would spend $80 USD on a 15 foot XLR cable??
I am no expert but I am sure that that cable is of high quality and is properly shielded from any kind of wave interference.
Wow I only use a rode wireless go 2 it has internal recording and a zoom h1n
I would also recommend a low-end K-tech over the neewer boom pole.
Yoo!! I’m a “old” fan ❤️❤️
This Video Was AMAZING! ♥️
I am filming a wicked movie, wish I had you guys on board helping produce it.
Why do we need a separate recorder like Zoom H4n?
Why not just connect the mic to phone/laptop via 3.5 mm adapter?
Serious question
because of the preamps and compression, most of the cameras have awful preamps and a lot of compression (even using manual audio level), also if yo want to record something longer than 30 mins a lot of cameras have that recording limit and recorders not.
Zoom h1n and a lav mic, and a fuck the world attitude. Beginner kit
Things WILL break. 🎉
Things WILL go wrong 🎉
I'm missing Landon Btw, has he left FTF team? He seems to be working for his own channel now
Yes he is, I got a reply from him 😟
zoom is great option but I prefer Tascam D-40
Gears depends on how much you need it and what you need it for.
AND I HAVE!!::: NOT EVEN A THOUSAND DOLLARS 😑😑
Fantastic job
Hi Guys! Huge fan here! 🤩
@ᴛᵉˡᵉᵍʳᵃᵐ ᵐᵉ👉Parker_005 you are not Parker
Pro tip: always be improving.
Economist pro tip: don’t always be improving… or you’ll end up with $100.000+ worth of sound gear 😬
Fantastic video! How do you do the transition for each of the items? 💀 cant find it anywhere
Great video!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Is it a clever idea to purchase as much audio stuff as possible from one brand or should I get a mix of everything? (Note: I'm a huge fan of Sennheiser but also Shure and Rode)
definitely mix of everything. Different brands do different things better at different budget levels
Question, please, what is the name of the transition in words and pictures ?
Great channel. Great content. But 6 Out of focus shots? Using auto focus? Really?
great video! I want more AUDIO ! This guy is good!
Dang what camera did you use for the studio shots? That AF lost focus so many times, I thought I was in a dream sequence.
Me, a beginner using two $30 mics: We’re fine

if you bring 100K of stuff does it mean you get paid 2-5K a day for your stuff over your daily pay?
love this... thanks

V nice 👍
I'm laughing so much! Love you guys!
I just want to record cars. Does anyone have any good techniques?
What's the best blimp out there for the Rode NTG5?
I got the Rode Blimp 2 for mine and works great (it has the new Rycote Lyre suspension system). Other than that, anything suitable from Rycote but you are paying a bit more.
It was like listening to that episode of Rick and Morty where the salesman was just selling stuff that sounded made up on the spot
8:31 do you ever put a lav on your boom tho?
Impressive pro gear, but it certainly made my OCD twitch. I need everything to match. Not that I can spend $100K on audio gear.
/Brenden
Hate my life when I realize that I can't even buy a Sony A7IV which is 3K 😑😑😑

Where is this place exactly?? 😂😂😂
ahh i feel for the person that had to look up all the items and their price 😬
Looking for Free, alot of love from Pakistan
Me first...... 🙂🙂🙂
First

@ᴛᵉˡᵉᵍʳᵃᵐ ᵐᵉ👉Parker_005 shut up bruh
My iPhone is still better
Bros kit fee is $5k / day
That was rush
@ᴛᵉˡᵉᵍʳᵃᵐ ᵐᵉ👉Parker_005 just another spam message
is that all you have?

@ᴛᵉˡᵉᵍʳᵃᵐ ᵐᵉ👉Parker_005 The effort you losers put into mimicking profiles is embarassing.
1000$ Beginner Kit?!? Hmm…let me see what i am using…ah, just my phone!😂
congratulations. you have successfully won a grand prize - reported for impersonation 👌
