- This is Sound On Set with Bubblebee Industries, where we go behind the scenes in the sound industry to see the workflow of location sound professionals under the pressures of set.
In this video, production sound mixer Dan McCoy (Creed III, America's Got Talent) kindly invited us on set during his shoot with Sky Cinema, for a new feature film "Arthur's Whisky".
Dan discusses the importance of finding and working with a team, as well as his workflow with the new Sound Devices Nexus A20 system. We also speak with Dan's 1st assistant sound Ben Ring (Bad Sisters), who talks about relationships between departments on set, specifically lighting and costume, and 2nd assistant/trainee Charlie Hinde tells us the process behind joining a shoot late as a trainee.

Love to see BTS dedicated to sound... awesome stuff. Im a sound mixer from Zambia 🇿🇲 and as we have a small yet growing film industry its always nice to see and learn about how things are being done. Side Note: Is it just me or the sound department always look the happiest 😂

Good video. Thanks. Interesting to see a Studiologic Mixface being used. I'd love to know more about that usage/integration. I have one for MIDI music production with a DAW, and didn't know it could be used for location sound mixes!

Hi Erik, thank you for your comment and question. We would recommend looking into networking. There are loads of sound recordist groups that will be able to advise you and point you in the right direction. We hope this helps
Guys, great video, however I did not hear anything about the boom mics, boom poles, transmitter on the boom pole

What type of mics was used in the introduction? Super clean audio
Hi thank you for your question. This was recorded using DPA 6060s with the Bubblebee Lav Concealer and The Invisible Lav Concealer Fur Outdoor on top to add extra wind protection and to minimise clothing noise. Hope this helps ☺️
