A word on tea light candles. Because of their small size, the wax will liquify over a short of time which means that moving the lantern around will result in the melted wax spilling all over the place.

Your review and the comments offer the bargain hunter a good idea of what to expect. For serious emergency and survival preparedness, I try to stock top quality at good prices. Currently, I am building her a "dorm survival" kit with budget gear in case she is forced to stay at school and can not make the few klicks to home base. We also built a lot of DIY. I have a couple UFO 4" or 5" candle. Had them a couple years, they work great. They will put a decent amount of heat off. Never seen these before the little candle can't burn to long.

You are right the UCO candles definitely burn a lot longer especially that beeswax when they make. The tea lights go somewhere around an hour or two.

@@BlindGuyUrbanBushcraftI find I get approximately three and a half hours burn time/illumination per cheap tea light. Thanks for the video, regards Broadlander

Yes, found two of those over here in the Netherlands. Also one which seems better made and is stamped 'Taiwan'.
      Nice little lights.

I've had one for several years.
It works, but the wax spilles super easy and the glass cracked really easy.
    I haven't found a replacement glass.
When I bought mine, there were 6 and I only found one that was not already cracked out of the 6.

Nice! This is an exact copy of a 80s Japanese made lantern. Hope Tyrol Light. Pat #410001. Even has the xxxs on the side. I used 10 of the aluminum foil seals that are on cocoa powder cans. Heavy foil. I stacked them up and put 2 holes in each for the handle to go through. They sit on top of the lantern and dissipate the heat, and give you a flat surface to warm something. It makes a difference of not being able to touch the handle and touching. Also mini clipper lighters, are refillable. I got mine at Dollar Tree, Vancouver.

I bought the other one with the larger Base from Amazon. It was broken when it arrived and they do not have a replacement glass any where so I ordered the UCO .The UCO glass is the same diameter but it is too tall. They ended up giving me a refund. Mine was a Bothyi brand from Amazon otherwise the same as the one in the video.

0 you won't have a windshield without the glass but I don't see why you can't put a candle in it. I've had mine for a while now and glass seems fine I've talked to bed a bit but I do store it and a drink cozy

I don't know that he is the right word. It might take the edge off I've tried that a couple of times around -5 and it was nice to wake up like to hand over half an hour and then go back to sleep and you sure kept the condensation down.
