I have been using these since the late 80 . My first one still looks new and works great . I have not broke a glass or anything in 40 plus years . The candle does not make a mess inside unless you move it before wax cools .
A few years ago I picked one up at bargain basement camping store. While not Brass, I got the cocoon, side and top reflector, three citronella candles plus two other items for around $20. The other two items I have never seen anyone do a review of. The first is a LED bottom that uses two button batteries, while it makes it kinda like a flash light, I think the intent was to be able to reach up and turn on the light without having to fumble to light the wick. The second item was a UCO factory made oil lantern insert. I’ve seen people DIY these but I have not seen anyone review the original. Does anyone else have these last two?
Думаю вместо свеч, как Simon c делать! Спасибо 🙏💕за демонстрацию верхнего и боковый отражателей! Это было круто! Всем крепкого здоровья и чтоб у Вас было много света!
I recently bought the brass UCO and 3 candle kit in the felt bag. The UCO came in a white generic box and mine had the same sticker but it was a bit crooked. Made me wonder if it was a knockoff. I then bought the neoprene case. The packaging looked the same as yours. The odd thing is the case fits super snug. Almost to the point of annoyingly tight. Bent the hanging handle it was so tight. Is yours that tight in the case? So much so I’m wondering if my uco is just a bit bigger and is a fake…? 😮
@@OdinswolfSurvival well that sucks I’ll have to check eBay then and thanks for getting back to me so quick I’ll update you when the stand comes in and let you know my impressions if it’s worth to buy or a gimmick
@@OdinswolfSurvival so stand came in the mail it’s a slip over base that snaps in snugly with minimal pressure I tested it in the recent snow and works as advertised with and without the shade attached at the bottom to add more surface area only gripe I would like to see would be a way to attach the shade more securely to add a layer of protection from strong gusts although I didn’t have any issues with that Ik on the hill tops wind is stronger

I did a review of the oil insert
Recently got the brass version, mostly for power outrages. Need to get the accessories and some more candles.

Great vid review. Any recommendations of which reflector is the most functional in normal use?
For me probably the side reflector as its usually near where I'm working lol
Cool! Is there a mold for the candles available?
Not sure I'm gonna look into making one
it is a great lantern. i actually just did a video on the mini that I will post later. They work really good with citronella
I did a vid on the mini also lol

What kind of “oil” does the oil insert want?
Liquid parrifin
