Pam, you got me to spraying water and coffee and green food coloring all over my kitchen. I don’t have any stencils at hand, so used a rock, a found speaker cover which gave me a honeycomb pattern. Posted to instagram! All because of you!
You made me think to get outside the box and use other stuff for patterns even if I do have stencils. Thanks for reminding me to stop conforming! 😋😁😛. MK
Part 2...I try to clean acrylic paint off my stencils, but don't worry much about inks and sprays. Thanks for the resources for purchasing stencils. Never thought of ebay. Your stencil bag is pretty, but I would go crazy not being able to see what they were. lol I hope y'all stay healthy and well, and have an excellent day!
I love crafting along with you.while you were spraying the coffee i was fuzzy cutting and not feeling so alone. I love the bird on the background , gives it a bit of a tropical feel. Loving wishes Aya
Well, that was fun! 😆 I do clean my stencils, and I put them back in the original packaging every time, but I’m re-thinking both practices now, thanks to you! I love your little bag to contain the stencils. Someone else asked for a video on how to make that; I’d like to see, too. I like things contained! I didn’t know you had a newsletter, and I just signed up. I have yet to listen to a podcast; it’s not really my thing, but I’m curious, so I will get there. You are so busy enriching our lives; thank you, Pam. 😊♥️
Annie, I waffled somewhere between washing and re-packaging my stencils and just throwing them into a pile wet and purchasing extra bleach in case they got moldy before I got around to using them again. Maybe you and I can team up and find a happy place somewhere in the middle of the road. 😛😁. And check out Pam's podcast for sure. I don't just sit down and stare at the radio (although sometimes, admittedly, that kinda winds up happening cuz she has an incredible way of bringing paper crafting to radio - not sure how she does it but she does), but rather put it on while I'm crafting. It's like having Girlfriend right across the desk from me. You can even answer her or throw your two cents in, Pam doesn't mind... She's cool like that. Enjoy and be well. MK
Thanks for your reply, EmmKaa. Today might be the day I listen to a podcast. I’m thinking of stacking my stencils vertically in a square plastic bin (like I do now), but maybe put a piece of paper between them to soak up extra goo. The paper wouldn’t have to be as tall as the stencil - just enough to ensure separation and no mold. OR I might stagger them with paper (laying them flat-ish) in the metal roasting pan I use for coffee/tea dying to let them dry. Either way, there would be paper to use on other projects eventually. 😊
@@406annie I have a bunch of stencils in an accordion file from my bullet journal days which aren't really entirely all that far behind me. I've been putting my JJ and MM stencils in there but it's just too crowded which is probably why they don't get put away like they should. I really like your idea tho! Sounds like I found this evening's project! Thanks Annie! MK

Hello Pam, I made it to the second part!! There's some fabulous effects and I'm so relieved that you are going to wash your stencils, I can relax now ha ha x
Thanks for this tutorial Pam. Making my first coffee dye papers using the spray bottle...no stencils so I'm using a cooling rack and the racks for our air fryer oven..lol. Will post some pics to our Facebook group. Thanks again. Always love your energy!
Good Morning! I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful saturday. Today looks like a good day for some spring cleaning, and organizing the craft pile, and doing this project. What another great idea and such amazing page magic.
This is such an awesome idea! I will be doing this for sure! That fancy paper looks like it might be coated on something, maybe the linen doesn't absorb as much. Thankyou for the funny moments, it's nice to have a laugh!
Pammy Pants!! Woman, I love you more and more with each video, one-liner by one-liner. You crack me UP!! So Sweetness, I saw you piling up... WAIT!! First... Love, Love, LOVE this coffee dying technique! ...and a two-fer no less! VERY cool. OK, so, now, I saw you piling up dyed paper upon dyed paper and think I heard you mention something about leaving them there to air dry except for maybe shuffling them around a time or two. ...really? They dry and don't get moldy? Doesn't that take forever? I live in the desert but when it's not blazing hot it's just that shy of freezing cold. Having just one pile to manage would save a whole lot of precious real estate in the craft area of the house... OK, craft areas - pleural! ...like three of them. OK FINE!! There are seven craft areas plus the cooking area in the kitchen if I'm really in a bind. Eesh!! What's with all the questions?!? Thanks for this wonderful idea and especially for keeping us laughing and creating amidst all this insanity. Lots of love from the Southern California Desert, MK
LOL, too funny MK! Yes, here in humid Florida I separated all the done papers into 4 piles and when I came back the next day they were all bone dry. I was surprised too! Sometimes I will hang stacks of papers together in my craft room with clothespins on a string . That works well if papers are really saturated:) Happy you are having fun! :)
Ok I am definitely doing this in the morning. I have to tell you, some days when Holly is squawking I have to stop and listen here because we have wild parrots and lorikeets that sound familiar. Not his high pitch one, but some of the other noises he makes. We also have cockatoos that are trying to eat our crop of delicious passionfruit. So I am full time trying to shoo them away. lol. Australia!! I love the birds tho. xx
Hi Pa.m. I am a new subscriber. I love this idea. As someone who is new to the craft, I have not been able to bring myself to dyeing and baking paper. I am definitely going to try this. I binged watched some of your “How to use up book paper” videos. I am going to be very happy going through all of your videos. You have some wonderful ideas. Also, I love your birds
I'm jealous of your stencil collection! Yay, I finally found my corner punch, in a box where I put it months ago, almost ordered a new one. This is stinkin' fun!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea! Love spending time crafting with you. Off to see how much paper we have on hand. Maybe I’ll try this on some book pages also! Hi Holly! Love your twitterfest!
This will be great for middle school. I am contemplating trying repurposed book journals again for my students, the first time was not very successful.
Yah, show how you made that little bag for your stencils sometime.. just made my first tassel for my fabric journal..sometimes show how to attach the tassel to the fabric or book , I used an eyelet & little pin hook..thanks
Thanks for this information. I try using the coffee from hotel pods. Ugh. Never dark enough. So at some point I just need to venture into instant coffee.
Thank you, Pam. Great videos on coffee dyeing! I am not a great stencil mom....mine are inked and painted. May get some interesting colors from them when I try yourcoffee dye method today.
I watched both videos and your results were very impressive, not a lot of effort with great results! My thing I don't like the smell of coffee (non drinker here), but I love tea so I'll give that a try. And thanks for letting us know where to find the plastic doilies. Fun video and enjoy listening to your birds! My favorite were the ones with no prespray. TFS * L
LOVE this idea Pam!! Not sure if I miss something but how do you dry the paper to just leave them out? What if after they're dry you sprayed them with another color like Kool-Aid dye or food coloring. Wonder if it would give it a layered look. I can't wait till we move in a couple months, I really want to try this! TFS❣️🐇💛🍄💙🌻💚🐞🧡🦋💜🐌
Great idea Lala! Its definitely worth a try! It might look really cool! :) I put mine into 4 piles and left them out overnight and they were all bone dry the next morning :) Happy journey! :)

I’m such a dummy this morning...I didn’t read the video title and just opened my email and touched the picture. Then your video started (it was part 2 not 1) and I thought...Pam doesn’t realize she wasn’t recording the first part...then when you said something about the video switching over I realized my booboo. Had a good laugh at myself. Great project!
So cool! Did this with 3 types of paper...great results! I found that a finer spray works great for stencils. Tried it in onionskin paper..interesting! One question..Do you wash your stained fabric before using on your books?
Hi Christal, I do not but if you feel the color may rub off then I would maybe suggest a rinse or perhaps and rinse with vinegar ti set it or perhaps a sealant spray. The dyes and coffee etc I have used have all worked fine without need for rinsing first. :)

The Paper Outpost I used my used K-cup coffees (trying to be frugal and also avoiding the grocery store lol). I added more and let it steep longer. The color was good but my sprayer got jammed. Alas 😢
Hi Carol, happy to help :) Make sure to use instant coffee, make sure its completely dissolved before spraying. If at all concerned about post-clogs then just remove the sprayer at the end and set it in a glass of clean water and spray it to clear it. That should help the cloggers :)
Morning My Coveted Neighbor 😁! The Stenciling is Beautiful ❤️. Have you ever used Hot Glue to tack material to Cardstock? Also, do you mind me asking you questions? I Don't wanna work your 'last nerve!' Lol 🤓
Hi Joyce! Thanks, yes hot glue will work :) A little tip I learned recently to prevent the volcano action of the Beacon glue. Add a few drops of acetone. Roll the bottle around..let sit for 1-2 days. It will thin the glue just enough to stop the volcano top :)

I've tried all of those things- instant coffee, boiling water- and it still clogs. I have to try a bigger sprayer like yours. Maybe that will help.
