Good morning Pam. I thought I’d share an idea for those of us who have Keurig coffee makers. 9th e I’ve made my coffee for the day, I save my pods and run them thru again in a large jar or container with a lid. I normally have 3-4 pods to run thru to get a pretty good amount of coffee water. If it isn’t strong enough, I add a little bit of instant coffee to it. I has worked really well for me. It really stretches a jar of instant coffee.
I'm not the only one to re-use my coffee then , thank you. I do this with my regular coffee pot, leaving the little bit of unused coffee in the pot before going 2nd round ☺♥
I’ve been opening my used coffee pods, sprinkling them in a coffee filter, and tying them with a twist tie. Then I boil them in water to extract color.
I love doing this, I've used everything from stencils, paperclips, buttons, old jewelry, string and leaves. I really like seeing the different effects from using just about anything. Great job Pam
HI PAM, I scrolled all the way to the point where you showed THAT PRECIOUS PUFF OF A DOG because I LOVE TO SEE HIM .... HE'S VERY FAMOUS YOU KNOW in THE CRAFTING WORLD. SO NOW I WILL GO TO THE START AS WAS MY INTENTION, I JUST WANTED TO SEE "YOU KNOW WHO" THANKS PAM... YOU ARE LOVED !!
Hi! I live in Aston Bay, South Africa. To prevent blocking of sprays, unscrew the spray top and take it out of the bottle. Point the spray nozzle into the bottle and spritz the excess into it until only air comes out. Rinse the spray top and its lttle tube. Put the end of the little tube into a container with clean water and spritz (into the sink/ onto scrap paper) until clear water comes out. Lift it out of the water and spritz into the sink until only air comes out again. Replace the spray nozzle on its matching ink bottle. Dry the nozzle well with kitchen towel. You have to do this every time before you put your sprays away. It is a good idea to keep wiping the nozzle with kitchen towel while you are working. Thank you for the awesome video.
So I first have to tell you I was sitting here watching you one evening and my guy thought I was watching a video of myself! He said, "Is that how it sounds in your head all the time?" to which I smiled and nodded wide eyed. Then he asked, "How do you sleep?" "Oh sometimes it makes it difficult but it does make for some great dreams!" We must have been separated at birth! I was in a rush just before Christmas with limited space but needed some dyed journal pages. So I just stacked them with the blank page between to keep them from messing up the next layer and wound up loving each layer! Thank you for being you!
The dinosaur is a triceratops Pam. I watched a dinosaur movie with my grandson. I am always ready to see what you come up with. You are so much fun to watch. Happy crafting ! Hug Sunny for me.
The dinosaur is a triceratops, lol. Very cute. You can save your clogged sprayers by cleaning with warm water for water-based colors or wiping with alcohol for alcohol-based colors. If that doesn't work, you can take the "button" off and soak. You might want to do in batches, since you have different types of sprayers. When I've had to do this, it saves the sprayer most of the time. Ever wonder why hair spray in the pump bottle comes with a cap? It actually helps keep the sprayer from clogging; so if you can, cap those babies. Fun way to color papers, thanks for sharing; take care!
Hi Pam and all POP paper people. Wonder if you used a strip of crepe paper/construction paper in between white papers if you'd get a dye bleed? Hmmm new experiment inspired by the lovely and fabulously fun Pam! 😀
Gosh I just love everything you do! Please give me a couple of your favs for ordering stencils, I like Victorian, the French fleur, shabby, some boho , thanks, I’m trying to watch all your videos, so many great learning opportunities and the best entertainment. Your are helping mr through my winter blues
I love this idea and it makes it so easy. I can't stop dying, especially when I'm adding other colors. I can't thank you enough. I love your channel and how fun you make it. One request, could you show your birds? 💖
Hi Pam! Thanks for pulling me out of the winter blahs. Your bubbly personality and sense of humor is a welcome break. I also enjoy the bird whistles in the background. Not only do I soak up your sunshine, I am learning so many wonerful ideas. Keep up the great adventure in Art!
Hi Pam, I love this idea and will be doing this stacking spraying stencils method on my coffee dyed papers. I watch your channel so often my husband recognizes your voice now. Lol! You are part of the family. Thank you for making me smile & laugh out loud! Also, I found a new approach to using the stencil method in the sun. I love to craft outside when it is warm & 🌞 sunny. So, I put my coffee dyed paper pan with the stencil on top of paper in the sun to dry while I was painting at the craft table. I came back an hour later , and the stencil resisted the dye but the squirrel positive image was perfect crispy dark image. He looked alive with color and furry with texture. You must try the next time it’s ☀️ sunny. I usually like to set up my table near some shade in case I get too hot. I only wish I could send you a picture of my squirrel images. Thank you.
What a great idea!!! so pretty!!! I usually do one at time and hang to dry on my indoor clothesline (which is actually a plastic chain with clips meant to hang stuffed toys!) . Just an idea - did you know that the sprayer from say a cleaning product (clean well!!!) fits on plastic water bottles, the kind you buy at the corner store to drink ( if you don't have your own thermal water bottle!!) which means you can make tea dyes or coffee dyes or any color dyes in used water bottles and only change the sprayer!!! Personally, I use my stencils and are put in individual sleeves and the edges still manage to get mangled!! I think they just want us to buy more!!! LOL!! Oh man!! Easter already????? we are literally freezing here -22....cold warning in effect....in quarantine.....and curfew........nice to think of warmer weather but just thankful we live in a nice warm cozy house!
I have been doing this for about a year as coffee dying does not work for me and I have no room. A also use food coloring in water/ alcohol spray. It works great.
I had some water from soaking walnuts that I was planning to dye papers this week….so I put in a spray bottle and played along with you. Still drying but I think these papers are really cool! Thanks for the inspiration Pam
I’m widening if I soaked dead pine needles if I could get enough color from them to dye papers. I have 9 pine trees on our lot and I have an abundance of them.
G’afternoon Pam! 💕 Love this! Haven’t played with my paints and coffee spray (I put leftover coffee from the pot into a spray bottle I keep in fridge) and stencils in ages. Holly and the lovebirds were happy today. Enjoy hearing them (as does my cat 😆). Thank you sharing your time and ideas with us. 💕
Hi Pam! Hi everyone! Hope y’all are having a great day. I love 💕 this way of getting alot of designer paper done to have ready to go for our beautiful designer craft projects. I have cleaned my sprayer tops with just sticking the ends in a glass/ceramic coffee cup filled with very hot water. Sometimes I also add a little dawn soap to it to help. 🦋💐💖
Just re-watching some older videos Pam, and if I didn't already know you were from Canada too, the Romper Room comment gives it away quick!!! LOL. also ages us as well!!!
I have a dish that catches the drips from my Kurig and I use it with a paint brush, fill a mist bottle or use a dauber with my stencils. I get various depths of color that way.
I thought about Romper Room as well but figured no one would know what I was talking about because it was a Canadian show!! I grew up with it waiting for her to say my name…
Love this. Ive not used my sprays for years! Its so annoying when they no longer spritz. Youve done some great pages... Hope we get to see you using them.... Mandy xx
Pam, I absolutely love your videos. They have all been so informative and helpful. Love your personality. I think I have attempted to make everything you’ve done! But this is my favorite!!! I tried this yesterday and my pages turned out amazing!!! Keep up the good work!
Hi Pam!! I love these junk journal papers and they are easy!!! You remember Miss Sally too on Romper Room!! She was so fun….or maybe that was because I was little. Lol!! But the papers are Beautiful and you can write on of them!!!
I have done this with tea, coffee, and onion water with different placemats (lacy & bamboo etc) between the papers. Now I must try with some stencils. They turned out so wonderful. I will try spritzing with my homemade alcohol ink for added color. TSVMFS ☺♥
thank you so much for sharing this! I love your video's and the way you present things! I used your technique and couldn't believe how great it worked! thanks for being you and so generous to share with everyone!
