    We are amazed by your sense of adventure. Please do not change yourselves just for us, you viewing audiences. John, you have taken us to many places and pleasures of Japan of which you represent. My Son and I love the way Kanai smiles and her quiet beauty. Keep up your curiosity and your sense of travel adventures. It’s not over till it is over.

    I’m 3yrs late to this video. Just discovered your channel and I’m marathoning your all vids. Firstly, want to say I enjoy your contents. 2nd, I want to respond to this vid…at 10:30 of this vid, you spoke of why JP still calls it Peking when China says Beijing. I’m not linguistic expert but the sound Peking probably derived from Cantonese phonetics during the Hong Kong British colony days. Beijing is mandarin pinyin. 😊 cheers!

      It couldn’t be helped - the ramen is more important than the music. It’s so hard to control everything in live streams. If it’s gets dinged, I’ll just replace the parts that were questionable by UA-cam but it’s okay right now.

    I'm curious: why is Haneda Airport open basically 24/7, but the bigger Narita Airport effectively closes between 10PM and 6AM? You would think that you'd want to close the airport closer to the metropolitan area if noise is the issue...

    I don’t think 5000 yen is too expensive. I paid 6700 yen at a capsule hotel in Narita Airport several years ago.

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  4 роки тому +1

      For a capsule hotel? You can stay at many APA hotels with a full room for ¥5500. The typical business hotel is ¥5500. A capsule should be priced no higher than ¥3200 in my experience. That’s for a true capsule hotel. Now there are luxury capsules because “capsule” is a trendy word these days for foreign tourists. Because demand is high, they can charge more. I typically have paid between ¥2500 to ¥3600 for a capsule for a night. I won’t pay more than ¥4000 and for that price, I’ll just get an actual room :)

    • @onlyinjapanGO
      @onlyinjapanGO  4 роки тому +1

      I think it’s supply and demand. It will get more expensive as we get closer to the games and then ... around the end of autumn I think it’ll start to come back to normal. Basically, many people will have to stay outside Tokyo and commute into the city from Chiba, Saitama and Kanagawa and even Ibaraki - the neighbors. jalan.net is one site Japanese use for accommodation that has more options than other sites.

      Mechcam 79 noodles are - but this kind of ramen is ONLY in JAPAN. China has soup with noodles. I had this discussion with people in Beijing. I was thinking of making an episode on it. In Japan, original ramen is called CHUKA SOBA (or Chinese soba) but it’s really come to a higher level the last 30 years and even in the last 10!!
