Whether you arrive at Haneda or Narita airport, I highly recommend taking the Airport Limousine Bus into Tokyo. Check online for their various stops in Tokyo. It may cost a bit more but you won't have to lug your baggage, transfer to different trains or get lost in the train station. Buy a ticket in the arrivals lobby after clearing Customs n Immigs. (There might be discounts for round trip tickets, seniors). You're allowed 2 pcs of luggage to go in the bus bay. Board, sit back, enjoy free wifi. There's even a toilet on board.
@@mishunot. You will need to check their schedule online. I stayed at the Tokyo Hilton Shinjuku and the bus stopped there only at certain times. My travel agent booked me a Company called "Green Tomato" that had a driver waiting for me at the airport. After a 10+ flight, it was a Godsend just to be able to walk into arrivals and have someone standing there with a sign with my name on it to drive me to my hotel. Hi Kensho, this is our first time going to Tokyo in October for 5 days for vacation this year. Your video series is exactly what we are going to follow. Thanks a million.

Kensho Quest videos are absolutely wonderful and so incredibly pragmatic. arigatou 🙏🏿. I'll be traveling in and about 2 months in this video coupled with your guide on getting to Tokyo City from the airport are wonderful.
We arrive around 10:15pm. What would be the best option to pick up a pocket wifi or sim card around that time? We plan on taking the monorail to the hotel near hamamatsucho station
Thank you so much for the video you guys are so so helpful we are planning a trip in November and your videos have been some of the most useful and insightful thank you so much.
Hi, we intend to at some point but to be honest, Narita is a completely different animal! It has 3 international terminals that you can arrive at. But do let us know if you have specific questions :)
Hello, Your channel has been a gold mine of information for our upcoming Japan trip. Everything is so detailed and well explained. I do have a question, where exactly did you find the image of Haneda airport. I tried finding it myself but they look so different from yours and I am a big prep person so was to physically write out notes on the map so I map out the route when we arrive to Haneda. Thanks
Thanks for the guide. We decided to take the Keikyu line but there are trains going to different destinations running on the same track. We got on the wrong train and figured it out after several stops. Then it was hard to get the right train even with Google maps because the information on the train itself flashed so fast in Japanese and English as it was coming into the station. We got to our hotel eventually. That was hard after a long flight and first trip to Japan
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. It certainly can be confusing and you're right, the displays only show for a short time! But glad to know that you got to your hotel :)
Thank you it was very helpful. The two travel cards you mentioned will work on Bullet trains ? Also we are travelling hokkaido was well as to Osaka. Will those cards work there too ? Please help me understand these two. Thanks
Hi. IC cards such as Suica are for paying for local trains and buses. As long as you get one of the 10 major IC cards, it will work most places in Japan. There are some remote areas of Hokkaido that don't accept payment by IC card. Here's our video on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/mZqrVpQLRbk/v-deo.html For bullet train tickets you can purchase them at JR ticket offices, from ticket vending machines, or online. Here's our introductory video about Shinkansen bullet trains: ua-cam.com/video/f3JDRc5sl5I/v-deo.html We also have separate videos about purchasing bullet train tickets online. 🌸 Heidi
Thank you so much for the amazing info.im gonna go to japan on 14th april and it is my first time to go to japan.i'm overwhelmed by all of the things i should know or i should do first 😂
I am going to have my second trip to Japan soon too for Cherry Blossom season this time and I will recommend keep watching videos on UA-cam and Kensho Quest videos are really helpful! and also when you get there you'll see people are usually very helpful as well and google maps/google translate were my best friend on last trip! remember to book in advance any of the activities that are must to see!
Thank you! Going to Haneda in 4 days and this is very helpful. Does Customs search every bag? If so, do they look at everything? Our bags are packed to the top and it would be tough to get them in good shape while being rushed.
We had nothing to declare and they didn’t search our bags at all. Maybe double check which items are prohibited from being brought into Japan and what amounts need to be declared.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm going on my first ever solo Japan trip on April 18th and since it's going to be my first I'm actually quite a bit nervous 😅 but your videos have given me some confidence boost! Also question: is it true that there is another type of SUICA card that will let you refund your remaining card balance? If so where can i get that one?
HI, yes you can get a regular SUICA card but currently it is only available at major stations in Tokyo and at some JR ticketing offices in Tokyo. I suggest going to Tokyo station if you want to purchase the regular green SUICA card.
Another great video; much appreciated. For those arrival very late at night, i.e.: closer to midnight, is the taxi into Tokyo and to surrounding western "suburbs" the only option, or, does the monorail and train lines still operate till the early hours of the morning? (I understand they do have to shut down for maintenance and safety checks). Thank you.
Hi, the last train and monorail runs before midnight and don't start again until around 5:00 am. there might still be some buses depending on where you are going. Otherwise, there are plenty of taxis and almost all take credit card.I wish there were more options.
Thanks 🙏 but I will arrive late around 10.30 pm in Haneda tomorrow. I’m not gonna make it onboard the train I guess. Taxi not for me maybe expansive, what I’m gonna do? Can just stay in the airport until morning or maybe a hotel nearby?
Hi, there are hotels nearby, even at the airport, have you watched this video? It explains most of your transportation options: ua-cam.com/video/CK_zOn5QW8c/v-deo.html worst case, you can wait at the airport until trains start running in the morning.
Thank you for the video! I have a question about 7:35 Transfer. We will be arriving in Haneda at 07:15am and our connecting flight to Osaka Intl (Itami) is at 09:30am. Do you think we have enough time to transfer if we don't collect our pocket wifi, IC card etc. ?
Hi, not sure what you mean by 7:35 transfer? But if your connecting flight is at 9:30 am, as long as you pre-fill all your forms online ahead of time I don't think you will have any problems making your connecting flight. You will need to change terminals and that might be what takes the longest.
Hi, for sure you can purchase by cash. I am not certain if credit card is accepted, but there are ATMs in the terminal where you can get cash as shown in the video.
Hi there! Thank you for the updated information. Your channel has helped me immensely in planning my trip. Would you know if haneda sells the actual suica (green) card? If so where? And if not where could i get one? I plan to make multiple trips to japan and this card would be nice since its good for 10 years. Thank you in advance!!
Hi, I asked the JR office at Haneda and they said they currently do not sell it at Haneda. They recommend going to Tokyo Station where for sure, at least a couple of weeks ago it was available at Tokyo Station. currently only Welcome SUICA is available at Haneda.
This might be a silly question and I also know it all depends on what we are trying to do but… How much would I need in average, we are going for 12 days and we are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) I am also using my credit card for things if needed or available to pay with card. I won’t have any transactions fees due to my credit card being a travel card. Any idea?
thanks so much. as always, very helpful. I hear IC cards are not available temporarily. is that true? should I somehow try to order it online before arrival or right there at Haneda, just purchase on the spot?
Hi, I should have been extra clear about this in the video but things can change! As of mid February 2024 you can buy both Welcome SUICA and PASMO Passport at both Haneda and Narita Airports in Tokyo. If you want to purchase the regular SUICA or PASMO IC cards you can do that at Tokyo Station. There are other places where IC cards are available but what I listed is definite, at least for now.
Thanks for another great video! I have one question, that I hope you can answer🙂 I have red that you can top up the Suica card to 20 000 yen, but since the balance is already 500 yen when you purchase it, does that mean you only can top it up with 19 500 yen more, or is it additioal 20 000 yen?
Hi, the balance cannot exceed 20,000 but I do not know if it has a hard stop programmed into the card or not. But the 500 yen is a deposit, so you might be able to add a total of 20,000.
@@KenshoQuest Yes, the 500 yen is a deposit, so that make sence👌 Thanks for the fast reply by the way, and for consistently putting out quality content🙂
Thanks for the video! I'll be traveling in a few weeks and as I get there quite late (10:30 pm according to the plane ticket) I wanted to know where to go to speed up the process. I am a bit scared that some of the sim stores will be closed by the time I'm done with immigration 😢
Hi, yes most will be closed so we highly recommend you book in advance and have your SIM or pocket WiFi sent directly to your hotel or nearest station. During checkout you will have options for delivery
This was a really informative video. I’m picking up pocket wi-go at HND but I’m leaving out of NRT airport. Can i drop my pocket wi-go there? Or must i drop it off where I picked it up?
What about these automatic portals supposed to help you go swiftly through immigration and customs, with the QR code you received upon registration online?
At Haneda Airport we have shown our QR code to an immigration officer and gotten a sticker/stamp in our passports (twice). It’s important to us for picking up JR rail passes. I also used my QR code at a machine for Customs, but I think since we are a family, we still had to show our passports to a person, as well. 🌸 Heidi
Hi , thanks so much for your videos. They have been very helpful. My wife and I are going to Japan next month. We are getting to Haneda Airport and then we want to take the shinkansen to Kyoto. Which train do I have to take from Haneda Aiport to get to the shinkansen? TIA
Hi, if you are going directly to Kyoto after arrival at HND, then assuming you have already purchased your Shinkansen tickets then take the Keikyu train to Shinagawa Station where you will board the Tokaido Shinkansen to Kyoto. You can also purchase or pick up Shinkansen tickets at shinagawa station
Hi, the vending machines for purchasing either welcome suica or pasmo passport will be open. However they are cash only. For SIM or pocket WiFi they will most likely be closed. I highly recommend you book in advance and have shipped directly to your accommodation or near a station where you will be staying. There will be options during your checkout process
If you are catching a connecting flight on JAL or ANA, have you ever considered using the JAL or ANA Domestic Transfer/Connection Service Counter to check in and drop off your check-in luggage? As soon as you enter the arrival hall, walk a couple hundred feet to the right, and they will be on your left. We used it on a recent trip where we caught a connecting JAL flight to Nagoya in Terminal 1. It saved taking your check-in bags on the shuttle and checking in at Terminal 1. This was after a HNL to HND flight on JAL. In May, we plan to fly to HND on Hawaiian Air and catch a connecting JAL flight to Sapporo at Terminal 1. The question is: Can we use the JAL Domestic Transfer/Connection Service Counter if we fly into HND on Hawaiian Air? We have called JAL and the Haneda Information Center several times and have received conflicting information. It sounds like it may be up to the discretion of the JAL agent there. Have you heard anything about this?
I think you are allowed to use the JAL domestic transfer counter since you're connecting to a JAL domestic flight. As a backup plan in the off chance that they say no at the transfer counter, stop by the visitor center to get a free monorail transfer ticket by showing your boarding pass. At the payment gate for the monorail, you may not notice any person present. To the left of the gate, ring the mechanical bell (like the bell used at a hotel desk)--a person should check your ticket and let you through the payment gate. After you reach terminal 1, you need to surrender your monorail ticket to exit the monorail area. It's a bit faster and usually less crowded than the free terminal transfer bus that anyone can use.
@@emikami1 Thanks for the response. Yes, we flew into HND on Hawaiian in May and used the JAL domestic transfer counter to transfer our luggage to our connecting JAL flight to CTS at Terminal 1. No problem!
Sir.. i would like to know, can we just use the free bus shuttle to go to jal city hotel haneda, or should i ask information center directly? Or should i buy the ticket for bus limousin? Which one is preferable if i arrive at mightnight? I got confused.. many Thanks if you can reply me as soon as possible, or any of the netizen that is very kind to reply me 😅 im not have a fluent japan.. thank you!😊
Hi, yes, if there is a bus available. I do not know all the times and hotels that offer the service but many do. I suggest you check with them first as that would be your best option. Then if not available during your time look at other options. But do note that there won't be many options if you do arrive after midnight. Please see this video: ua-cam.com/video/CK_zOn5QW8c/v-deo.html
We get a better rate using an ATM and proceeding in Japanese Yen. Here’s our video about avoiding ATM fees in Japan: ua-cam.com/video/kKccD_Ee4iw/v-deo.htmlsi=KDXbb9nH5UB2r_Z7
Hi, Japan is the land of the rising sun so there will be many things open. We suggest you first head to your hotel and leave your luggage then head to Tsukiji Market for breakfast. There will be too many options to choose. Then go for a walk in the nearby Hamarikyu garden. If this is too far you can just walk around I’m sure you will find something interesting quick. Your hotel may have some ideas as well. Have fun!
We are arriving at Haneda around 3:40pm. Should we be concerned about trying to use train with our luggage to our hotel in Ginza district as it is approaching "rush hour"?
Hi, it will be crowded but since you are starting from the airport you will be able to board either the Tokyo Monorail or the Keikyu Airport Line, which both originate from Haneda so you will be the first on the train or monorail. If it is too crowded, you can wait for the next train. Also these trains have designated luggage space.
Got some tips from your video but my question is we’re flying into Haneda Airport Terminal 3 on JAL from the USA and traveling to Sapporo on JAL domestic flight from Terminal 1, From what I heard we have to go to the foreign arrivals area just like everyone else and clear immigration and customs then pickup our luggage. I heard that outside the Arrivals area there’s a JAL domestic luggage drop off area to bring our luggage, do you know where it’s located? I also heard it’s faster to catch the Keikyu Line to Terminal 1 because there’s always a long line with the free shuttle service. Seems like JAL made our layover only about 1 hour 35 minutes which is pushing it. If you can assist us with what you know it’ll be greatly appreciated.
Aloha, after you clear immigration and customs, you enter the arrival hall turn right and go all the way to the end of the hall and you will see the Domestic Transfer counters. If they are not open, you will see the elevators or escalators that will take you downstairs where you can check-in. Taking the Keikyu or Monorail is debatable so choose which you think is faster depending on the time of day you will arrive. The last time we took this exact same route on JAL was in February. We arrived at 8:00 am and when we boarded the monorail there was no line. So it really depends on the time of day. Since you are short on time, please choose to fill out your forms online, it will save you a precious few minutes.
is the Welcome suica card available now? I heard there is shortage of chips, so Suica is just back to be available, one card per person. not sure about welcome Suica card.
For a child SUICA card you need to go into an office, to show their age. Here’s our video on how to get one: ua-cam.com/video/BbvQurJdOnc/v-deo.htmlsi=Hmwonz4S1nT5B5yJ
Have you tried using an international plan from your US provider? I have T-mobile and it seems like I can just pay a fee that will allow me to roam without a giant fee. Why do you opt for the pocket wi-fi?
Hi, I have not personally, but a good friend of mine uses T-mobile every time he visits and hasn't complained of issues. However, I have heard from others of mixed results. So your experience may vary. We personally always get both a pocket wifi and an eSIM - but we use a lot of data!
I am desperate to get through the airport as quickly as possible as I am on a very tight five minute scheduled to get to the cruise ship. I’ve had no other choice with the flight arrangements. Did you use the QR code to get through customs?
Yes. We entered our information on Visit Japan Web and showed the QR codes for immigration and customs. It makes it a bit faster, but the main factor is how long of a line. Are you traveling as a family, by chance? There is a priority lane for those with a baby, pregnant, in a wheelchair, etc.
Hi, we have a ton of experience using them! Here are a couple of videos on this: more of a definitive guide to all data plans with our top recommendations for eSIMs and pocket wifis: ua-cam.com/video/9t-ubj4jNps/v-deo.html a year old but still relevant: ua-cam.com/video/H2ZQ6c_jA9U/v-deo.html
Hi, as of two weeks ago it was not but please ask the JR office when visiting as it might be available again soon. Otherwise, they told me you can buy at Tokyo Station
Can I ask you a question? I know that Sanrio Pasmo passport card expires after 28 days, let’s say I come back six months later can I treat that card as a regular Pasmo card and add money and keep using it?
I will arrived at Haneda airport and will take the connecting flight to ITM airport, Osaka. Can I purchase Suica card in Haneda airport while I wait for the connecting flight? If yes, where can I get one? Also, Is it better to travel from Osaka, Kyoto, than flight out Tokyo since the Shinkansen pass is very expensive?
HI, yes you can. purchase a Welcome SUICA or PASMO Passport as discussed in the video at those locations. Regular SUICAs are sold out again. As for transportation, I recommend you consider purchasing individual shinkansen tickets vs flying into ITM but compare the prices. Shinkansen will most likely be faster and a smoother ride since it is more direct, you don't have to go to an airport and no security checks.
Thanks for the info. My family will be flying into Haneda from Hawaii with a connecting flight to Sapporo in October. Flying with JAL on both flights. I have a few questions. Will we need to collect our check-in luggage before proceeding thru customs, and then catch our connecting flight? And should we purchase our Suica cards at Haneda or can we do it at New Chitose airport? I'm trying to figure out how much time to give for our layover at Haneda before getting to Terminal 1 for a connecting flight to Sapporo. Mahalo!
We also flew JAL both legs. Yes, we collected our luggage at Haneda and transferred to a different terminal before checking our luggage for our flight to Sapporo. If you want to get a Welcome SUICA card you should get it at Haneda. It’s possible to buy a SAPICA card in Sapporo, but it may not be as widely accepted across Japan as SUICA. It would work in Hokkaido, though. Be sure to be aware of luggage allotment for your flight within Japan, as it may be less than your flight from Hawaii. Here’s some packing tips regarding that: ua-cam.com/video/ih_FskqogVU/v-deo.htmlsi=VWO0LwZ8GZYfmVNL
If both flights are on JAL, take advantage of the JAL Domestic Transfer/Connection Service Counter. Go through immigration, pick up your bags, and go through customs. As soon as you enter the arrival hall, walk a couple hundred feet to the right, and it will be on your left. You can check in and drop off your check-in luggage there for your connecting JAL flight to Sapporo. You won't have to take your check-in bags on the shuttle and check in at Terminal 1.
There’s no need to load all the value on at once. We usually charge our IC cards in 1,000-2,000 Yen increments. You could put a bigger chunk at first. We don’t like to put too much, in case we were to lose the card.
@@KenshoQuest thank you, I have so e questions regarding JR pass, but I haven't watched your video on that subject yet, may be I'll find the answer there.
Hi, need more information about what you need, but most services like picking up pocket WiFis will be closed, vending machines will still be operating. Also, most like you will need to hire a taxi
Hello! Thank you very much for informative video. Really appreciate how your videos makes it easier to plan for first time travelers to Japan. Do you have any advice for a very early AM arrival? 4:45AM, it seems the Haneda Airport Garden is a good option to just walk around while everything opens up? I was hoping to get regular Suica in the airport but is that option not available? I understand that there was a chip shortage but recently it seems that it's only available in certain stations but there was no mention of it yet at the airports. I also tried to reach out via email (your website form), in hopes in getting a referral to Charles Schwab. Thank you!
Hi, the garden is a good option! Many shops will open by 6am. I asked about the regular Suica in early February 2024 and the JR office at HND said it was currently not available at HND. They recommended visiting the office at Tokyo station where it is for sure available. She also mentioned a particular machine at Tokyo station but I don’t remember the location. But since this was a couple of weeks ago you might want to ask the JR office at HND if they are now available. And thanks about Charles Schwab, sorry we are very slow to respond to emails as we get so many. Currently, Schwab only offers referrals if customers are making huge deposits but we greatly appreciate you asking😀
Hi, the fastest way would be to take the Tokyo monorail to Shinagawa station and board the Tokaido Shinkansen for Osaka. Here are a couple of videos of how to purchase tickets: ua-cam.com/video/KglsSHuex0Q/v-deo.html&lc ua-cam.com/video/zwMKE3pmBP4/v-deo.html
Hello…I am flying into Haneda in July with my 13 year old daughter. Do you know if Japan customs requires a notarized letter (signed by both parents) for a single parent traveling with child? Canada customs has asked me for such a letter when traveling there with my daughter. I guess to make sure that my daughter’s mother is aware of our international travel. Thanks for any info you may have!
Hi, great question, yes, you will go through immigration first, then customs. Right after customs you will enter the arrival hall where you can purchase your IC Card.
Hi, you will be cutting it close. If you have all your pre-arrival forms completed ahead of time it will still take 30-45 minutes during non-peak hours. Then you will need to take the train or monorail to either terminal one or two and possibly a long walk. I don't recommend it.
Hi. IC cards such as Suica are for paying for local trains and buses. As long as you get one of the 10 major IC cards, it will work most places in Japan. There are some remote areas of Hokkaido that don't accept payment by IC card. Here's our video on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/mZqrVpQLRbk/v-deo.html
For bullet train tickets you can purchase them at JR ticket offices, from ticket vending machines, or online.

You're welcome!
Thanks Mate🙏

Thanks for the video.
Can you put the same like Nirata airport with all the information including pocket wifi .We are going there in July.
Yes, we are working on it :)
Can you create a video for Departing Haneda?
Yes!
Navigating through the Arrival Hall to find ATM and Wifi do you do this after clearing customs or before customs. Hope this isnt a dumb question.
After clearing immigration and customs.
Thanks for this amazing video. Is Tokyo metro pass (3-day) available for purchase in Haneda airport?
Hi, I believe it is but I don't know the exact location. You can also purchase online and pick up from numerous stations around Tokyo.
@@KenshoQuest Sure, noted ☺️ Thanks so much 👍
Thanks 🙏 but I will arrive late around 10.30 pm in Haneda tomorrow. I’m not gonna make it onboard the train I guess. Taxi not for me maybe expansive, what I’m gonna do? Can just stay in the airport until morning or maybe a hotel nearby?
Hi, there are hotels nearby, even at the airport, have you watched this video? It explains most of your transportation options: ua-cam.com/video/CK_zOn5QW8c/v-deo.html
worst case, you can wait at the airport until trains start running in the morning.

Thank you.
You're welcome!
We will be arriving midnight at Haneda..this is so helpful! May I ask if Suica Card purchase can be made through credit card or cash? Ty!
@@KenshoQuestthank you so much for the information, greatly appreciated!!
This might be a silly question and I also know it all depends on what we are trying to do but…
How much would I need in average, we are going for 12 days and we are a family of 4 (2 teenagers)
I am also using my credit card for things if needed or available to pay with card. I won’t have any transactions fees due to my credit card being a travel card.
Any idea?
The Seven Banks that I see around Haneda can all be used to top up my old Suica card from years ago right?
Hi, most likely yes as most 7 Bank ATMs near stations have the ability to charge IC cards.
thanks so much. as always, very helpful.
Get an esim card. Install before leaving your home country.
@kenshoquest will you do this for Narita also?
Hi, yes in the near future!
This was a really informative video. I’m picking up pocket wi-go at HND but I’m leaving out of NRT airport. Can i drop my pocket wi-go there? Or must i drop it off where I picked it up?
The pocket WiFi usually comes with a return envelope that you can drop in a Japan Post mail box to return.
What if I going from Haneda to Tokyo Station, then I want to take a subway to Asakusa-Kumarae?
Helpful video mate! Can you confirm if there is a limousine service to Ginza?
Yes, there is an Airport Limousine Bus from Haneda to Ginza. Here is the timetable: www.limousinebus.co.jp/guide/en/timetable/
@@KenshoQuest Yes, I saw this link earlier. It seems this particular route is out of service as it is shaded grey!

Very helpful but we will be arriving in Haneda at 12am, are the stalls still open? Where do you suggest we get our welcome suica and sim cards? Thanks

We didn’t use the connection service. Thanks for letting us know about it. Sorry we don’t know the details of who can use it.
Hi, yes, if there is a bus available. I do not know all the times and hotels that offer the service but many do. I suggest you check with them first as that would be your best option. Then if not available during your time look at other options. But do note that there won't be many options if you do arrive after midnight. I have a red eye flight arriving at 4:30am. Any suggestions of what to do until our hotel check in time around 2pm?
Hi, Japan is the land of the rising sun so there will be many things open. We suggest you first head to your hotel and leave your luggage then head to Tsukiji Market for breakfast. There will be too many options to choose. Then go for a walk in the nearby Hamarikyu garden. If this is too far you can just walk around I’m sure you will find something interesting quick. Your hotel may have some ideas as well. Have fun!
@@KenshoQuest thanks

The problem is the tourists from China don't us mobile app and use the paper forms to clear customs. This causes a big back up in customs.
Where is the haneda garden mall ? Is it inside this terminal ?

Is the 10 year Suica card available at Haneda now?
Hi, as of two weeks ago it was not but please ask the JR office when visiting as it might be available again soon. Otherwise, they told me you can buy at Tokyo Station
Can I ask you a question? I know that Sanrio Pasmo passport card expires after 28 days, let’s say I come back six months later can I treat that card as a regular Pasmo card and add money and keep using it?
Sorry, but no. The PASMO Passport will no longer work after 28 days.
Here’s some packing tips regarding that:
ua-cam.com/video/ih_FskqogVU/v-deo.htmlsi=VWO0LwZ8GZYfmVNL
If both flights are on JAL, take advantage of the JAL Domestic Transfer/Connection Service Counter. Go through immigration, pick up your bags, and go through customs. As soon as you enter the arrival hall, walk a couple hundred feet to the right, and it will be on your left. You can check in and drop off your check-in luggage there for your connecting JAL flight to Sapporo. You won't have to take your check-in bags on the shuttle and check in at Terminal 1.
How much money would you recommend that I put on the welcome suica card for a 28 day stay? Thanks

Is it any restriction luggage size to carry into monorail ?
HI, yes. You can bring on 2 items per passenger with a maximum combined weight of 30Kg.

Yes, each individual person needs their own separate IC card.

Hi, sorry but we have no definitive information regarding this matter.
Do you go through immigration and customs before or after you purchase an IC card?
Hi, great question, yes, you will go through immigration first, then customs. Right after customs you will enter the arrival hall where you can purchase your IC Card.

Is 1.5 hr layover doable(baggage, customs and immigration) for international flights with a domestic connecting flight ?
Hi, you will be cutting it close. If you have all your pre-arrival forms completed ahead of time it will still take 30-45 minutes during non-peak hours. Then you will need to take the train or monorail to either terminal one or two and possibly a long walk. I don't recommend it.
