  • Have you ever heard of the DEA operation Fast and Furious? Ioan Grillo explains some of the most horrific acts of violence in the most dangerous parts of Mexico. Ioan has been conducting journalism in Mexico for almost two decades and has seen the worst of what mankind can do. He gives us a personal account on the Shawn Ryan Show. Often, we see photographs of cartel gunmen holding .50 cals, RPGs, AR15s, heavy machine guns, gold-plated pistols, and much more, but we also wonder how they are getting their hands on these?

    The group that kickstarted this wave of hyper-violence were the original Los Zetas who were special forces that broke away from the CDG. This group revolutionised the cartel war and brought a level of brutality, military organisation and ruthlessness that Mexico and the world had never seen before. It took the Mexican government, US government and 4 cartels that joined forces to stop them.

But, they were essentially the Mexican equivalent of American Special Forces before deciding to become Cartel muscle, and then a cartel themselves. When you discuss the modern cartel violence and mentality- it’s important to remember you’re talking about individuals who at some point in their “career” voluntarily left the human race. Some left at a young age before their brains were fully developed, but the point is these are no longer humans. They are void of all the characteristics that we attribute to a human. Even the most brutal warriors in history at least had honor. There’s no honor in the modern cartels. Just bloodlust and money.

    So people know, these guys buying the guns are getting paid $50 for each pistol they aquire, $100 for each assault rifle and $500 for each .50 bmg. That's not how much they are paying for the guns here, that's their fee rates. Buying a gun in Mexico can cost you up to double what they're worth stateside.

    Hey not that it'll be too constructive but an atf agent who recently quit to be a park ranger told me that they know this is happening, but due to the ease of buying weapons in certain states, they have no way of stopping these firearms from being trafficked. He said they have no legal mechanism to use. It was his opinion that we, as citizens, need to understand that in some places, you can buy a rifle a day, everyday of the year, and nothing can be done to stop that person from driving across the border to drop them off,since no one checks cars on the way out.

    In jail I met some soldier guy that worked in the armory here in our town's base. Eyes lit up cause I was in charge of collecting ammo etc on the US side. Right before his higher-ups got him out we exchanged numbers. Met up a few months later and started a nice business to the point I had to store everything in my crawlspace because you couldn't cross it into Mexico fast enough.

He just says yeah everybody needs the right to bear and purchase arms just because somebody’s from somewhere else doesn’t mean they can’t buy arms which is true because there’s a lot of vigilante groups who need guns as well.

    The only reason these cartels aren't labeled as terrorist enemies of the United States is how many Americans are involved in the drug business in one way or another. You would have to start labeling Americans as terrorists.

    • @SwayNoir
      @SwayNoir Рік тому

      This isn't true. The reason they aren't labelled as terrorists is because then that would allow Mexicans living in Mexico to claim asylum in America. You cannot be deported from America back to a country that is experiencing terrorism.
      If America labelled them terrorists, it would open the floodgates of people from Mexico.
