As I mentioned in your 0.5.x video, you're the reason I started working on the A32NX. In fact, your RNP video is what pushed me to implement this feature. I'm currently rewriting the FCU from scratch which will solve some of the issues that it currently has (such as not being able to command a vertical speed without changing the altitude first). It might even fix not being able to select a track with the approach mode on like you showed in this video. By the way, can you be more specific regarding the aircraft reverting out of TRK/FPA during a go-around? Might be another thing I have to implement!

    • @320SimPilot

Thank you for your amazing work on the project and I’m really pleased to hear your kind words! It’s great to know the videos have helped in their own small way! The FPV is a fantastic addition and the new FCU sounds like it will be a great improvement. On approach if selecting TOGA and entering a go around phase the Bird will be removed, SRS AND GA TRK FD bars will be restored automatically. Hope this helps! Thanks again.

I hear "five" quite often... but not becuase my landings are so smooth, I just float down half the runway and then plonk it down :D not ideal, especially because he keeps repeating "five" and everytime I get more nervous as I'm running out of runway :D

Thanks for this - it's so useful! Had an autopilot glitch the other day when ATC assigned me a STAR inbound to Glasgow. The A32NX autopilot wanted to turn me around back to RIBEL so had to navigate manually using the heading bug. All the way in, I was making minute corrections to my heading due to wind, but if I'd used the bird it would have been much easier. Happy days!

Very brilliant explanation. I have a question. Regarding the track use, the FPV symbol( the bird) is always vertically lined up with the green diamond in the bar at the bottom of PFD? According to that in case of landing with lateral wind, specifically in non precision approach, would be better to have TRK/FPA always activated?

  • @jaysmith4302
    @jaysmith4302 4 роки тому +2

Thanks for the video. Good explanation. I have a question about normal law. If you are straight and level with the autopilot off and you command 30 degrees of bank, will the airplane begin to lose altitude or will it automatically put in the 1.15 g's or so that are required for level flight at that bank angle?

    • @320SimPilot

Can you do a video about handflying an airbus (In XPlane11) ? I know it is "not done" but I like it a lot (incl old school radio navigation) I almost never use AP and I find it very difficult in the Airbus . I think due to the "laws". The automated systems for attitude make it relaxed to fly but often I end up fighting them for control. I have no problems with any Boeing (IXEG 737, FF 767, FlyJSim 727 and 737) But I struggle with the Tollis A319 and even more with FF A350 . (often AT kicks in without I notice it, that results somehow in overspeeding and then the plane starts to pitch up and I end up in space with throttle at idle ;-)
I think the bird could be handy for this, I will try that first in the Toliss)

I have a question about flying the RNAV APP. I get one loaded and then as I get near to the critical point of starting the procedure, my FMC asks me (in orange type) to Enter Destination Details. These are already in the flight plan. If I re-enter the correct Rwy with the RNAV app, the rest of the flight plan goes belly up 🤨. I’ve tried to fly an overcast app into LOWI ( I know, nothing if not adventurous) but without much success. Any thoughts?
BTW, missed the fact that the addition of the ‘bird’ wasn’t freely available. Can I ask that you mention which update you’ve got the addition from. I’ve looked in the GitHub notes but can’t see it referenced exactly.

Is anyone else having a problem with the A320 in msfs 2020? It has happened to me twice now that I have been flying IFR in the A320 and it will suddenly nose dive towards the ground without warning. The first time this happened was right after I departed out of Atlanta and was climbing to 20,000ft from 10,000ft, and at 12,000ft my plane suddenly dived towards the ground, the autopilot disconnected and I tried to pull up but I was going vertical downwards at 400 knots. The second time was when I was already in cruise at 30,000ft, I had been in cruise for about ten minutes and the same thing happened without warning. I am using the A320nx mod but I’m not sure if it’s a problem with that or the default aircraft. If anyone could help by letting me know it would be greatly appreciated!

I have issues running the mod properly, I think I need to try the developer build, because the stable one just doesn’t work for me when I spawn at an airport, everything is dark, I have no EXT PWR available, and when I switch on the BAT1 and BAT2 nothing happens, I just have a dark cockpit, I can turn on the lighting in the cockpit, but the screens do not work, I don’t know, I’ll try the developer build later today
To add as well, I get like a consistent beep in the cockpit, which is not the normal sound you expect after switching on the batteries, it’s just a persistent beeping sound, I guess somethings wrong, but I can’t figure it out.
When I spawn in the air, everything is fine, but I mean, I always used to do stand to stand flights, not starting on the runway, AND even that is faulty, I spawn on runway only to have a lot of things completely incorrectly set up, either I’m stupid or somethings messed up in the mod, and I did use A320 flight sim add ons for years, so I feel like the A318s-A321s are my cup of tea

How and when do you know to change the altimeter barometric pressure to Std?

Each area has a certain transition altitude at which the local QNH changes to the Std mode (1013)

When you pass or will be passing the transition altitude which varies for each country. In the USA it’s 18000ft

I downloaded the latest version of flybywire A32NX but since the MSFS update, the mod doesn't work anymore. What am I doing wrong?

Delete the A32NX in your community folder, and then install the latest dev or stable using the downloader you can find on the FBW website.
