  • www.ted.com Insects and animals have evolved some amazing skills -- but, as Robert Full notes, many animals are actually over-engineered. The trick is to copy only what's necessary. He shows how human engineers can learn from animals' tricks.

This is the best channel I've come across on youtube hands down.

That was amazing. Can't imagine the state that robotics is going to be at in 20 years if more people start doing this sort of thing.

Dawkins had a clip from the 80s about such a use. It was referenced in one of his books, I believe. It involved an aerofoil being developed through natural selection.

Finally, we'll be able to use the Internet to tell tiny robots to deliver a cold Slushy to our doors.

you need to do some research. you'll find it, it's cooking a big cake.

Take a look at BigDog, XRL robot or other biomimetic robots. Their development isn't probably accelerating, since quadrocopters surpass them in almost everything. Snake bots are made for crawling into tight spaces where you can't fly.

+x1plus1x that's a great question, big dog is kinda cool but its just a bigger version of this stuff from a long time ago. even the military, who you would think want this kind of stuff for surveillance, planting bombs, etc, are still using WW1 track style robots

First of all, it's called natural selection not "section". Second of all, natural selection has nothing to do with the second law of thermodynamics nor does it break it. The second law of thermodynamics states that entropy will always increase and is never conserved as you foolishly stated. As organisms(not "orgamis") grow more complicated and organized, they release heat and result in an over all increases in entropy.

Don't try and advertise your shitty videos, if it's good people will find it, if it sucks then it has no views for a reason. Just for saying, "check mine out for a beautiful one" I am going to NOT check out your video.
