Whenever I go on a cut I cant get lean. I will lose fat for the first week and then will gain it back over the course of a couple weeks. This cycle continues over and over. I stay in a 500 calorie deficit and get over 10,000 steps a day while still working out. I’ve talked to my doctor and he has no idea
There’s no excuse. It’s nurture not nature. A lot of people who can’t lose weight it’s got nothing to do with exercise because exercise just converts the glucose into muscle which helps you lose weight but it doesn’t make u lose weight. A lot of overweight eat too much carbs and salt and not enough protein and fibre. I see overweight people always go for the chips and not the chicken. They don’t eat enough seafood because seafood helps u lose weight
Actually, muscle weights more than cholesterol. You'll burn cholesterol at the same time you grow your muscle. Getting into good shape for average people isn't really determined by weight loss. My tummy is getting smaller, but I'm gaining weights. Use your tape to measure your body size.
I'm curious how doing a 4 hour mountain climb and dancing in ONE day, accompanied by NO FOOD that same day, shot my weight up by 3kgs in 4 days! The rest of that week, I exercised and kept my diet at a 300 calorie deficit, and still, I kept gaining every day. I eat high protein whole foods only. No sweets, no junk, no takeout, low carb, no sugar, etc etc. As a personal trainer and dietitian myself, I am flabbergasted by this past 4 days' insanity.
Are you going to the bathroom regularly? Sometimes when I cut my calories drastically I notice that I’m not going to the bathroom and I’m guessing my body is holding on to everything and it’s all building up causing the scale to go up.
I had been running for years and ended up being skinny fat. I trained and ran Marathons, Half Marathons, Trail races, etc. I could not believe that although I was doing all this exercise I would look like an unfit person. Then I started lifting more alongside my running. I saw some strength improvements and gained a little bit of muscle but still, I had a lot of excess fat, especially around my tummy. I then decided to eliminate running and replace it with walking and hiking. Of course, I continued lifting weights. 1 year later my body drastically changed. I do not know if this could work for everyone. But you could give it a try I suppose.
I had recently (2021-2022) lost 96 lbs. Over then last year, I gained 10 lbs back. 3 weeks ago, I started walking 4 miles every day and cut my calories to 1352 (using an app) and cutting out sweets, etc. I started losing weight and now it is going back up. I am 63. Does this mean that these walks have sabotaged my weight loss? Reduction of calories? Drinking too much water? I’m beside myself and ready to give up. 😢😢
I have a question. How do your clothes feel because maybe you’re building muscle from all the walking! 🎉 The increase in muscle might cause you to gain weight since it weighs more than fat 😄
@@KerriJ87 I thought of that, too, but they didn’t feel any different. I think I was eating too little so my metabolism basically slowed down to that of a rock. I stopped starving myself and I started doing 30-40 minute indoor walks and short outdoor walks. I feel happier, and have noticed my clothes feeling a tiny bit looser. I do believe I gained some muscle but not enough to gain weight.
This happens to me. Couple things: water retention in females is often higher by nature. So if you drink a lot, it can affect the scale. Menstruation also affects this. Stress can also greatly affect the scale. That number isn't that big of a deal. Measure with tape, clothes and increase protein
You are missing the 2 biggest points. 'Diabetes and hypertension'. When giving advice, it is important to take into consideration what most obese people are suffering from. 🤣
Then do this...eat less and run more 😂. One day eat very low, then use your craving to binge next day. I am trying it, bcz nothing is working to gain weight. And one more thing, l really like you ❤😊. Want to talk to you.
It’s not a medical document on obesity an diabetes ,duh an if your obese ,your probably not running ,or you’ll have another problem ,bad knees ,runners don’t have diabetes or hypertension, obese people do ,it’s a lifestyle an that’s what the elliptical or walking is for ,athletes run ,obese people walk ( if that)
wow there's so much misinformation in just this one comment. diabetes doesn't JUST affect "fat people", it can affect even thin people and someone you visually perceive as "fit". but you'll probably not believe that until you're ~50 with sudden failure to process glucose (which isn't just in sugary or "bad" foods btw :) )
Jeff, please consider reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, reading that book was the best thing I ever did
Will the weight gain be avoided by doing just walking as daily exercise instead?

was it physically noticeable fat or just muscle gain? 😮
Sounds like a witch hunt 🤔
Have a great run too. 🇺🇸
Because you are stressing your body and stimulating hormones that cause weight gain. A dietitian should know this.

Keep doing it, you are gaining muscle. It's impossible to gain fat if you eat the correct things and walk@@lormor460
When are you eating? Try intermittent fasting
I graze when I am hungry (on fruits) small breakfast. Lunch and early dinner. I’m trying to fast from dinner to morning.
I woke up at 172 then in the middle of the day i was 175 and at the end i was 179?PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME
Water. I always gain weight throughout the day. Watch your salt intake as well

Only weigh yourself in the morning right after emptying your bladder. There's no reason to weigh yourself multiple times in a day.
Thansk
I cut carbs, drink alot of water, go to the restroom regularly, and eat only 1000 and i fast why am i still gaining weight
Same here! and I thought eating fast food will make you fat and gain weight!
Same. Eating good. I am Hypertensive is that why. My goal is just to get healthy not lose weight. But not gain weight either.
