Welcome to the wacky world of the Internet - where anonymity brings out the worst of people! Not so long ago I was in a quiz, we were asked which decade Maria Carey was born, I'd heard the name but couldn't place it. I'd been reading about early 19th Century prison reformers and thought perhaps she was one of those. I guessed the 1770's and everyone laughed........quite a lot! 😂 - at least yo' givin' it a go! 👍
I'm not offended in the slightest! I'm only happy you've decided to start digging into these excellent old tunes! I am American myself, and I will turn 50 (FIFTY!) this year. Songs like Stairway To Heaven were the soundtrack of many of our lives, and I think people unconsciously assume that EVERYONE hears the soundtrack. Anyway, I really enjoyed this video (and your Pink Floyd 'Time' one)--thanks for sharing your reactions with us. It's good fun! You Brits have given the world some really exceptional rock music, might I also suggest you give a listen to 'July Morning' by Uriah Heep? The band name references Dickens so you're almost required to check 'em out. Cheers!
Don't worry what others say young'un you are the same age as my son and he was lucky, well he reckons not, as I brought both my 2 up on rock etc. Music is a journey through life and try listening to more Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and all the great British bands of that era. I would rather you at least listen and give a view than not bother. Ps you are from my neck of the woods by the sound of it and there are lots of local pubs that support local bands that play covers, worth going to listen to some of them if you get the chance. I was lucky to have been born in the mid 60s and have older brothers who listened to some great stuff. Enjoy what you like its all relative and very personal to you.
@briank05 before you found out that what they did is called "cover" today, but they didn't always name the artist on their albums which resulted in some lawsuits, and some songs that are claimed stolen are actually traditional folk songs that were covered 20 30 times by others as well. Also they made the songs by lightyears better than they were by their original artists... I mean, listen to Taurus by Spirit, and after that to Stairway to Heaven. It's a completely different song, the intro isn't even that similar. But it sounds much better by Led Zeppelin, actually it's the greatest song in the world.

To this day, Stairway To Heaven is *still* one of the most covered songs in history, and probably one of the greatest rock ballads of all time. I actually went out and bought LZ IV when it went on sale in 1971, mainly because of Black Dog, Rock & Roll, and Battle of the Evermore. At the time Stairway to Heaven was just a nice diversion to me (and overplayed to hell on the radio). Later on, when Led Zep gave their blessings to Heart to do covers of their music, Nancy and Anne Wilson came out with an acoustic version of Battle of the Evermore that was off the charts! There's still several versions of it floating around UA-cam, and most definitely worth the watch!😍 Great reaction Georgia!😉 🤘😎🤘
I.B., you have just scratched the surface with Zeppelin. They are an INCREDIBLE, life-affecting band. Look into more and enjoy the glorious journey! God bless.
Better late than never ! Led is from the sixties, i began listening to them in the 80's. A girl in 2020 listening to this is almost like me listening to Vivaldi !
Always an epic listen. As a guitarist I just go into another dimension over the orchestration Jimmy created with the 12 string. Then the solo, what can you say, just melodic in quite emotional ways that cannot be duplicated. Does anybody else get how emotional this solo is?
Anyone experiencing something new and enjoying it is wonderful to see! Everything else is irrelevant!. Carry on experiencing, and ignore the rest. Stay safe
Its amazing to see what I've known since around 1970, listening to my little transistor AM radio when I was 9. Whole Lotta Love used to scare me and when this song came out, I couldn't believe how beautiful this song was. I'm glad you liked it, its been voted the number 1 classic rock song of all time in man th polls and contests.
I sat in front of Lois B's house in my HemiCuda and sang 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'House of the Rising Sun' with her over and over. Good memories. BTW - 'Barracuda'. by Heart was later my car's theme song.
I play Guitar and work in Music. Love seeing your reactions to my generations Music. Saw Led Zeppelin many times front row, my fav band. also Pink Floyd...
Almost married an Irish lass from Dublind Ireland many years ago. My dad's family is from Ireland. Love the accent. Love Zep. My favorite all time band. They're your neighbors. You should get to know them. 😄
I am old enough to remember hearing this when it came out on the radio in the early '70s. I was in junior high school and had been a fan of theirs since Led Zeppelin I. They just got better with each album. My only regret is I never got to see them live. They played Madison Square Garden a number of times in the mid to late '70s and back then tickets were relatively cheap around $10 to $12. Another song you should react to is "Kashmir" from the "Physical Graffiti" album, circa 1977.
Omg id love to be back in that era you're so lucky!!😭 The list is vvv long but I'm definitely gonna be seeing more of led zeppelin it's just to beautiful not to😁
Thanks for sharing. I consider myself lucky to live in ‘Led Zeppelin’ country to the West of Birmingham where Robert Plant was from and John Bonham lived with his family. I regularly walk past Robert’s old house in Halesowen and recently I took my son to see Bonzo’s final resting place not far away, we wrote a little message in the church book for him, always remembering the most legendary rock drummer ever. It’s great that you are showing an interest over 50 years after this great music was thrust upon us. Long live Led Zeppelin!
I dare you to find a single human who's listened to Stairway and not been whisked away by it's spell...I think the greatest thing about the song is it grows more powerful everytime you hear it, and familiarize yourself with it. Loved your reaction!
@@TylerLL2112 The Levee Breaks is definitely the next song. Kashmir is almost as laid back as Stairway. Now, if you want an example of a bizarre guitar technique, Khashmir is the tune.

Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest British exports. Try doing In My Time Of Dying live at Earls Court, 1975. Also, The Song Remains The Same and The Rain Song.
Nice seeing someone hear this for the first time. The first time I heard it was in the early 1970's Have loved it ever since. Got to hear it live once.

And I know a thing or two about this stuff.peace, Phil
This is one of the all-time great rock and roll songs. If you get a chance, check out the video of the Kennedy Center Honors video of this song, when the members of Led Zeppelin were honored. It is the BEST tribute to the band imaginable. In case you weren't aware, the drummer, John Bonham died in 1980, and Led Zeppelin broke up after that. For the tribute, his son, Jason Bonham, who is quite an accomplished drummer himself, played drums on the song. It is moving and brought tears to the eyes of the band members, and it was cool to see President and Michelle Obama and classical cello virtuoso YoYo Ma rocking out to this song.
Really your first time hearing this?? You literally could do a hundred or more reaction videos on Zeppelin and be this amazed or more many, many times. Greatest rock band ever. Period.
The slow begining section played in the church for the funeral for a girl I knew , very emotional time. This was back in the late 1970s .. she died in a car accident. Unfortunately one of the many funerals I attended of friends during my school years.

This is the best moment for each generation to learn music from the past. Thanks to the internet. I discovered so many songs that I couldn't get to know if the internet didn't exist. And of course the radio. One of my favorite bands is Queen but unfortunately I couldn't be at any concert because I was only one year old when Freddie died. But what this band has created will always be in my heart and in many other people. The music is beautiful and will stay in the heart forever. Music is the best invention of man. Peace!
“If you listen very hard, the truth will come to you at last” zeppelin (stairway to heaven) zeppelin is a story told over many albums. It’s a journey that took several years. All journeys begin with the first step. Aka their first album (Led Zeppelin) from 1969. Begin at the beginning and your life will change forever. I know...sounds a bit over the top. But if you take the journey (and listen very hard) like so many have before you....then you’ll know.
There are many more Led Zeppelin songs that are great listening too, that you may want to check out some day. "When The Levee Breaks", "Whole Lot of Love", "No Quarter", "Black Dog", "Ramble On", "Dazed and Confused" etc.
I was 7 when this song came out but was just a couple of years before I started listening to the radio regularly. I didn’t hear this song until I was 12 years old and remember thinking, why is not everyone talking about this song? But back in those days, when a song was 5 years old it was an old song. There were no oldies or classic rock stations. No FM stations in small towns like where I grew up. It’s fun watching people listen to classic songs for the first time. Cheers!
An absolutely adorable reaction but also a Perfect one because we can tell you felt the song. Between his vocals, Jimi Paige's guitar magic, the drums coming in late but what got you was the flute in the beginning. Hahaha, welcome to the club. Keep it up, Peace!
Robert Plant studied accounting and Celtic Mythology at Oxford he dropped out to pursue Rock Stardom. At the time he wrote the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven Robert recollects that he was reading Tolkien at the time.

Do not worry about what people say....i am 58 and was younger then you when Zeppelin were just getting famous, it took me 35 years to realise and appreciate what a great band they were and wish i had listened to them more as a teenager and maybe gone to see them live
Thank you so much! And it's absolutely amazing!!! Can't believe I've never heard this!!
@@InsaneBlondie check out Heart covering this, search Heart Stairway Obama
Always have listen to Led Zeppelin there music is timeless and no matter what your mood is. Good times !!
Headphones or ear pods are must, otherwise you miss sooo much detail!
Understandable!! :)
I.B., you have just scratched the surface with Zeppelin. They are an INCREDIBLE, life-affecting band. Look into more and enjoy the glorious journey! God bless.
Each verse has a change/layer climaxing with an explosive finally. The first time heard this, i was like ??, but i was drawn in. THen bang, boom.
Yessss exactly!
JUST LEGENDS
Arguably the greatest song ever written. Enjoy discovering more. Your life will be richer for it.
Love watching a younger generation getting turned on to music I grew up with. Now for the next opus would have to be Hotel California by the Eagles
Richard Rodriguez I think hotel California has been heard by literally *everyone*
Only if she has a problem sleeping!
glad you liked led zeppelin, i have been listening to them since 1969, and i never tire of them, good luck girl!!
thank you!!
6:35--The genius of Jimmy Page
Anyone experiencing something new and enjoying it is wonderful to see! Everything else is irrelevant!. Carry on experiencing, and ignore the rest. Stay safe
Thank you so much!
You can never go wrong with Led Zepplin. One of the GREATEST ROCK BANDS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is HISTORY and Music...Made by Hand !
I’ve listened to it a thousand + times , and every time, I get the same feeling
It's starts on a breeze, gradually builds to a maelstrom, and leaves on a whisper.
I play Guitar and work in Music. Love seeing your reactions to my generations Music. Saw Led Zeppelin many times front row, my fav band. also Pink Floyd...
They were part of the great Triumvirate of the early 70's Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath
Basil Keen and zeppelin were the giants
And "QUEEN" , they also start in 70's
James Rulona Yeah but, they really aren’t comparable, they were hardly hard rock (pun not intended)
Almost married an Irish lass from Dublind Ireland many years ago. My dad's family is from Ireland. Love the accent. Love Zep. My favorite all time band. They're your neighbors. You should get to know them. 😄
Im a geordie :D & I should definitely :D thank you!
It's a north eastern English accent, I say this to inform not to mock :) .
That's not an Irish accent mate 😂 north East England. 👍
Omg id love to be back in that era you're so lucky!!😭 The list is vvv long but I'm definitely gonna be seeing more of led zeppelin it's just to beautiful not to😁
Me too! I'm 60
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN nothing more to say.
PERIOD
I dare you to find a single human who's listened to Stairway and not been whisked away by it's spell...I think the greatest thing about the song is it grows more powerful everytime you hear it, and familiarize yourself with it. Loved your reaction!
true true thank you so much!
You should listen to their song When The Levee Breaks ☮
That song and Kashmir never fail to get me going. Awesome song.
@@TylerLL2112 The Levee Breaks is definitely the next song. Kashmir is almost as laid back as Stairway. Now, if you want an example of a bizarre guitar technique, Khashmir is the tune.
My favorite song ever I think
More correctly, their cover of "When the Levee Breaks."
All of My Love should also be listened to, such a gorgeous song and written about Robert's son Karac who died suddenly when he was on tour with the band.
A true CLASSIC. AWESOME!!! song. Led Zeppelin. Made a song that is memorable even after all these years. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍😉
exactly!!
OMG I love you !!! it’s crazy satisfying seeing people reacting to stairway to heaven for the first time. If you really enjoyed it you should check out Stairway to heaven covered by Heart. They did such a great job😊
Alfred Diaz - ...at the Kennedy Center. Plant said they did it better than Zep ever did.
My 17 year old son walked in one day when I was listening to some Zeppelin and asked who it was. I looked at him and said "Once you open that door, you can't close it again."
It still amazes me that they never had a #1 hit...
That alone is a testament to the greatness of 60s and 70s rock
They deliberately didn't release singles, only albums- that's why.

ASBATH?
You need to check them out live. Particularly in the 1973 madison square garden concert
This was the music I listened to in High School and College. Led Zeppelin is a fantastic band....... I love them! Brings back so many memories. Thank you Georgia........... :-)
This is the 2nd time I've seen you commenting to a non Nightwish song. Good to see you're a song reaction junkie like me :)
@@Lothian55 :-)
It's absolutely amazing now I'm addicted to that song😣😂 I bet you had an amazing childhood with that band! It's crazy how songs bring back so much! Love you lots Ann💜💜💜💜
@@InsaneBlondie Yes it was an amazing time of music when I was growing up. The memories is one of the reasons that makes music so great........... Love you....... :-)
OK then. I have grandkids your age IB. It makes me smile whenever one of them gets the chance to hear this Zep anthem for the first time. I'm smiling now for you.
Aww bless you! Thank you! 😁
Zeppelin and Floyd are the two best bands ever never go wrong with either.. Dazed and confused is a good second for Zeppelin..
Black Sabbath?

Oh thats very good
Listing to real music for the first time
This song is iconic. It is so very well constructed! Starts out slow and soft and the buildup takes some time, then the final climax and denouement. Incredible guitar playing from Mr. James Page. And the amazing lyrics! 'Tis truly one of my all-time favourites! Thank you for this reaction!!
It's absolutely amazing!!!!
I wish I could've 😭 I'm jealous!
“Good times, Bad times” and “Black Dog” booth of LZ
Livin lovin maid.
So glad that a world of outstanding music is opening up for you! You will be transformed by all of the great music out there. Peace friend!
If you can find it, I'd recommend listening to Heart doing it live. They sang it as a tribute to Led Zeppelin , who were watching them, Ann Wilson has the best female voices in rock imo
Another fun fact, Jon Bonham's (LZ's drummer, pointing this out for Blondie's benefit) son was the drummer for that specific performance.
This song is really soothing, I listen to it when I need help sleeping some nights. Thank god for Led Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin are the undisputed masters of the time and signature changes in their music.
The guitar solo was recorded with a Fender Telecaster. If you liked that acoustic intro, check out 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You'.
How could you not love it? Rock n' Roll.
You tell them girl! I’m older and from Got damn mother fucking TEXAS! I grew up with this music and ZEPPELIN is my favorite band. Hey it’s better late than never. You’re getting to hear them now and THAT is what counts. So screw any criticism and just explore the beautiful and cool world that is rock and roll! You have my blessing. And I know a thing or two about this stuff.peace, Phil
watch their whole 1973 concert at madison square garden called "The song remains the same"
Which even the group and Peter Grant knew was shite.
Period.
I know even my boyfriend was surprised now it's literally on repeat😣😂😂😂 more led zeppelin in my life yes pls
I'm 65 saw them twice, best live band ever, check out the James Gang
The slow begining section played in the church for the funeral for a girl I knew , very emotional time. This was back in the late 1970s .. she died in a car accident. Unfortunately one of the many funerals I attended of friends during my school years.
Oh no! :( Chin up and keep remembering her! May she Rest In Peace!!!!
Welcome To The Zeppelin Family.
Thank you!!
Their Madison Square Garden concert from the early 70s will blow you away. All the songs on it are jaw droppingly good. It captures Jimmy Page at the peak of his creative powers.
Listen to Since I've Been Loving You by them the studio version....it will send chills down your spine....
Live Version Since ive been loving you 1973
@@michaelwhitton8226 I was at that show in 1973 and she does not know much about LZ and the live version that I love can be too much for a newby....and also the solo in the studio version is awesome as well!
Oo someone else recommended that im definitely gonna! Even the title sounds like my type 😂 if that even makes sense😂🙄
@@InsaneBlondie Its a very intense song about love lost....and I actually know the guitarist Jimmy Page and his girlfriend is a dear friend of mine...that is me and Jimmy on my profile pic!
@@InsaneBlondie Now I got to follow you!🤗
This is the best moment for each generation to learn music from the past.
Yeah I understand alot of people have actually mentioned that Im excited to hear more!!!
First heard this song at my dad's drum shop in Sunderland, and never looked back.
Love your reaction! Another beautiful masterpiece by Led Zeppelin is The Rain Song.
Thank you! Most certainly!
There are many more Led Zeppelin songs that are great listening too, that you may want to check out some day. "When The Levee Breaks", "Whole Lot of Love", "No Quarter", "Black Dog", "Ramble On", "Dazed and Confused" etc.
I'm excited 😁
Kashmir is the result of all their creative juices flowing at the same time.
A rich explosion of eargasm.
It was absolutely amazing but it got blocked😭😭😭
@@InsaneBlondie,
Try it again.
Your reactions are entertaining. 😊🎧
This is my point. My mother saw Led Zeppelin in 1971...THE SONG THAT REMAINS THE SAME tour.... Good for her ... 👍I
I like their song How Many More Times live from Denmark
You loved it... So does the world... Unquestionably the best & most famous rock song ever written.
Led Zeppelin - Babe, I'm gonna leave you .. is another (reaction worthy) song you should definitely listen to. If you haven't already.
Definitely heard alot about that one!
Thank you!! it was beautiful indeed!😁
Antonio Charo You know without paulie the band wouldnt work lol
Robert Plant studied accounting and Celtic Mythology at Oxford he dropped out to pursue Rock Stardom. At the time he wrote the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven Robert recollects that he was reading Tolkien at the time.
Wow! Smart guy!
You should react to HEART's version as they played it to led zeppellin at the Kennedy center and John Bonham's son Jason was on drums.
That performance had Robert Plant in tears, that's how you know Heart killed it.
Oooo!!! I'll add it to the everlasting list thank you😁😂
Yes beautiful
I'am 62 years young Led Zeppelin changed my life and I still listen to thier music everyday...stairway is still my favourite song but then I love everything they ever did. Simply the best
