hi bro , happy new year to you and your family ✨🙋♂ i have a good history lesson for you ---> Iron Maiden - Alexander the Great ( with lyric ) and sure , Pink Floyd ( live to Pulse concert 1994 ) for your friend .. 😎👍
I can't imagine having only listened to Rap all my life, and then hearing this. I think my brain would have to be re-wired first, otherwise I'd be afraid I might blow a fuse.
I was 13 in 1970. Huge fan of Zep, The Who, Stones, Steely Dan, Aerosmith, etc etc. lol There was so much amazing music that decade and late 60s, all with a signature sound. I always felt I was blessed to have grown up then. Music is my oxygen.
Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Robert Plant , & John Paul Jones are by far the greatest super group that's ever existed. These guys were collage age young men when they did were doing this. 16 to 30 predominantly,1968 to 80. John Bonham tops most any list as greatest drummer of all time. Jimmy Page tops the list or at least top 3 of every list of greatest guitart of all time. Though page was the owner & founder of the group. Producer. The leader & it was his whole vision that designed them. Robert Plant is always in a top 5 bracket of greatest rock vocalist of all time. Jones always a top 5 or top 10 rock bassist of all time. No other band has a line up of the most elite all in one. The fact most of the greatest of their catalog of songs were recorded in Hedley Grange, Jimmy's Home he purchased in the country. They band is the second greatest selling rock band of all time. 5th greatest selling artists of all time with 112 Million albums america, 300 plus world wide. And the fact they never released singles & only produced 8 albums in 11 years. Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones mixing & producing all their material. Them writing all their material. Jimmy Page vision to recreate the Yardbirds as a super group to take over the world is nothing like it. Knowing Jimmy their is a great movie in the works. Their had not never will be another group even close.
Great reaction guys!!! First heard this song, in art class at school, back in 1971. Our art teacher let us bring in albums to play during art lesson and my mate brought in the new Led Zeplin 4 album and played this track to the class. My reaction then was pretty much the same as yours!! My go to record if I need a pick me up!!
Thank you for not stopping the song. There is nothng more irritatingto me when others do it. I kave no problem if you talk over it. Great vid. I give it a 👍👍 up!
I have watched you listen to this song the 1st time...the smile and look on your face this time is how you will feel every time you hear it...has been for me for the past 50 years. And the look when it finally hits your friend! Enjoy!
Watching the smile come across your friend's face is just nothing but delightful. And I can't even remember the first time I heard this, it would have been in grade school but I've heard it so many hundreds of times that I don't remember. But it was so incredibly popular through Grade School junior high high school and into college. It had a longevity to it and then at that age I started playing in a post punk band and I was more involved in like Punk and Post Punk and rockabilly type stuff in terms of music. But you know what, 15 years later, you can turn on a classic rock station and you're going to hear Stairway to Heaven you're going to hear it it's guaranteed, laugh. And I never get tired of it. Just right now listening to it I always pick up new slight details. And actually I don't know either of your name so I will just call you rapper friend, but rapper friend, John Bonham as your friend said, is regarded as one of the greatest drummers in rock and roll. And really he could hold his own in the Jazz world as well. He died way too early and it ended Led Zeppelin sadly. He was known for hitting really hard but he was just so incredible and he played hand drums he could play his whole drum set with just his hands he can play tablas, you know the Indian hand drums. But what I thought was interesting about maybe approaching it from a hip hop point of view is the beat. And did you know that some of his drum beats have been sampled heavily in hip hop? You guys should check out When the Levee Breaks from this exact same album as Stairway to heaven. It's based on a really old blues song but they give it their own complete treatment and it is mesmerizing. It is also considered a masterpiece. But John Bonham's slow deliberate drum part in there which goes crazy with fills at the end. That one in particular has been sampled and used in rap music a fair amount.
So I just left the other post we were commenting on and this song was recommended next. Click on the comments and here you are again. Promise I'm not stalking you!

Show him Pink Floyd's,"Comfortably Numb" from the Pulse concert; Santana's "Soul Sacrifice" from Woodstock, Lynard Skynard "Free Bird" from Oakland in '77 to get him started. It's always fun seeing people react to rock for the first time! These live performances are epic.

I'm 72, and have listened to Led Zep, Pink Floyd and dozens of ARTISTS back in the 60's and 70's. We were immersed in so much great music that the youth of today never heard of let alone listened to. Great review, saw your mom doing PF and it was righteous... Nice Job!!
@@jeanettecameron7530 Hi, Jeanette honey. And not just our amazing music, but weren’t things so much more fun back then. Of course, we were young back then and now we’re not, but I know that you, like me, have so many wonderful memories of those days.
I was 18 years old when this song was released. My friends and I would gather at someone’s house… Whoever had the new album at the time… We would listen to the album, pass it around, read the lyrics, smoke pot, etc. We were so blown away by stairway to heaven, that we just sit in silence trying to process it. I will never forget the first time I heard it.
I was ya'lls age when this song came out... can't even imagine how may times I've heard it since, and it still is one of the very best ever. Happy trails!
When I was your age and first heard this, neither had anyone else. What a great Era in music '65 -'85 was! Put him on all Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, and others and he'll probably never go back to rap.
What a great moment to watch you two react , especially the guy in green without the cap. Fifty years, in 1973 I was 15 years old and went to a friends house. We smoked a spliff, got high and he said, “you gotta hear this song man”. We listened and it blew me away, just like you two guys. I was speechless too. So gratifying to see two young guys rocking and appreciating in the same way I did 50 years ago. Peace.
I moved to Arizona for about 10 years when I came back to California my brother had converted my young cousin from Hip Hop to classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple Etc.
How refreshing to see 2 young men enjoying such an iconic rock song. I was lucky enough to be a teenager in England during a time when Glam rock was around as well as groups like Led Zep and Pink Floyd. I wonder what you would make of UK glam rock greats, T.Rex and Bowie. So much good rock music out there, keep having fun discovering it.
I graduated from high school in 1983. Stairway to Heaven was the theme of our senior prom. I might be old......but I got to see all the cool bands LIVE!
Loved the reaction to this song. It took me back to when I first heard it in the UK in 1971and your reaction was similar to mine back then. I could not believe what I was hearing. I still have my original 1971 fourth Led Zeppelin album (from which this song comes) and I still have a record player and still play it. Led Zeppelin had already produced stunning music, but this seemed to lift things to a higher level. One of you (the Rapper) mentioned how good the guitars sounded. In that era, every rock band worth it's salt had a superb lead guitarist. Led Zeppelin had Jimmy Page, Deep Purple had Ritchie Blackmore , Pink Floyd had David Gilmore, The Who had Pete Townsend, Queen had Brian May, UFO had Michael Schenker, Uriah Heep had Mick Box, The Rolling Stones had Keith Richards, Black Sabbath had Tony Iommi, etc. Anyway, thanks for the video. Your reactions took me back to another time.
See your rocking the Toronto Blue Jays Hat and that's awesome....much love from Toronto Canada... Your friend has been given a gift from you and believe it or not he will thank you fifty years from now ...what a gift !!!!!
Wow, not only a _Zep_ virgin, but a *Rock virgin!!!* Next, I suggest you guys react to the greatest Zep track of all-time, *"Kashmir".* (Be sure to use the studio version!)
I first heard Zeppelin when I was 15 and saw then live the following year. It was an awesome concert! I would suggest The next band to introduce him to is Rush Xanadu from Exit Stage Left which you reacted to so he can see REAL musicians performing. Working man live in Cleveland would also be an excellent choice and one you haven't reacted to yet. I like your Blue Jays cap. Geddy Lee from Rush is a huge Baseball fan and can be seen at Blue Jays games since they are from Toronto. Cheers
love your reactions and you got roberts hair to 😂 . remember when i got my first zep record back in 72 at 5 years old and from then i was hooked on zep. but boy what a tragedy it was when john bonham died no more zeppelin that was so sad. keep up the good work man ✌
Please, please, please react to Roundabout by the band Yes. I promise you that you won't regret it! Bring your friend along for it too! It came out the same year as Stairway to Heaven, and you will totally be blown away by it.
I've been a huge fan of Led Zeppelin for over 50 years and it is great to see that this stunning music can still have an effect on young people. Try "Gallow's Pole" or "Whole Lotta Love".

You performed a miracle! He is one of us now, one of us now (in a creepy voice). It was amazing to see a smile light up his hithertofore expressionless face. Welcome, Bro! Thanks for keeping great music alive! God Bless!
Great reaction! Hip Hop is the most popular genre of music in the US today. Hip Hop, which can contain rap within it, originated along with rap in the early 70s making this genre of music 50 years old... Rock music died out around the 50 year mark. I wonder what will be next :)
@@sueparras6028 Well no music genre ever actually dies. You can still find rock venues and heck, jazz venues today. But in terms of the dominant popular genre, rock's day has come and gone just like Jazz's. But Rock and Jazz are certainly still around.
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was in about grade 3, it came on the radio and I refused to get out of the car and go to school until I heard the end. Mind blown at about 9 tears old!!!
I consider "Stairway to Heaven" Britain's greatest rock-n-roll song of all time and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" America's greatest... so hard to choose though. Your friend has a TON of songs to go through!
THe song was originally put together in 3 parts and then put together into a single song. You can tell the difference in all 3 parts and this song has been put up there with the all-time best songs ever made.
Always love the look on rap fans faces after they hear actual Musicians, vocalists using melody, instrumentalists, talent, versus push button studio crap.....
Great reaction. This was my Moms music and I remember her rocking out to this song, long black hair flying. She still rocks out and so do all her daughters
The only disadvantage of starting your rock and roll journey with "Stairway" is that it's sort of at the top of the rock and roll hierarchy. So after "Stairway" it's only downhill from there. I heard "Stairway" for the first time in the fall of 1973 when I was 12. I remember thinking that it as "lush" and "melodic." I knew it was a song that would get remembered because it was so different. But the legendary status the song has now was not evident at the time. It would take years for the song to achieve this stature.
I'm glad guys like you are listening to this stuff because you never know what you're going to like until you hear it, and your bringing back music that should have never died in the first place. Rock music comes from blues and jazz, and rap and hip hop come from rock because of RUN DMC. So alot of what you guys listen to these days runs deep through rock music, so keep listening because you might hear alot of stuff sampled from this music in the stuff you listen to now. And try live NO QUARTER from Led Zeppelin off the soundtrack Song Remains the Same, I find it better than the recorded studio version.
Well DONE! Well Done!! I really like watching your reactions to all this great music. Same reactions I had when I was your age. Take a look at my vids on my "Crosswind" and "Rock n Roll" playlists. I actually played in the early 80s through the 90s in rock bands and it was great. Your comments and insights are very interesting and some takes I had never thought of. Looking forward to more of your vids, Keep 'em comin'!
You're starting to become one of my favourite reactors to music. What I like about your style is that you don't pause the song and tell what you're thinking you let the song roll and let it do it's thing. Also the way you react is really great and mellow at the same time. Keep doing what you're doing my man I love your content. I would give you a lot of suggestions but that will take too much time to figure out so I will give you my 3 so here you go!. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born on the Bayou Budgie - Breadfan Ten Years After - I'd Love to Change the World
LED ZEPPELIN, "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN". Like all 60's, and 70's, the music was more than outstanding. I glad you two like it. Another band to give some time to is, Traffic singing "DEAR MR. FANTASY", and "THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH HEELED BOYS"....
there was a recent poll to make the best best ever by picking individuals. robert plant was voted BEST EVER singer john bonham was voted BEST EVER DRUMMER jimmy page was voted 2nd best EVER guitarist and john paul jones was voted 3rd best bass player EVER. no other band got ANYWHERE NEAR that level of talent and chemistry, they were ALL top 3 ever!!!
Hey Brady Aerosmith's " Dream On " ( 1972) Is a close second to Stairrway( similar type of Epic Anthem) and essential reaction! 70's Aerosmith were like the U, S equivalent of Zep & the Stones. Aerosmith inducted Zep into the RocknRoll Hall of Fame and they performed together .Funny 2 r Famous Rap tracks Sampled both Stairway & Dream On.
I was watching and just waiting for him to smile. I knew it was coming, just didn't know when. And you're right, I've listened to it for forty years and it'll never get old.

Greatest rock song ever! The live version is a must!!
THe song was originally put together in 3 parts and then put together into a single song. You can tell the difference in all 3 parts and this song has been put up there with the all-time best songs ever made.
Wish I was you young man. You have so much great discovery ahead of you, late 60’s through early 80’s rock is unbelievably awesome.
NO way he has not heard the song before! Almost impossible if you are an American for sure. It has been played non stop for 50 years!
Pink Floyd is really going to blow his mind.
It really will
Or Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused live MSG 73
@@Rockmusicpodcast yes dazed and confused is the logical next step for zeppelin. From Jon's drums on. Everyone needs to hear the God of Thunder
No sh#t!
Don't get me wrong I love Pink Floyd also by Pink Floyd is not even Indy
Always love the look on rap fans faces after they hear actual Musicians, vocalists using melody, instrumentalists, talent, versus push button studio crap.....
Great reaction. This was my Moms music and I remember her rocking out to this song, long black hair flying. She still rocks out and so do all her daughters
great family
The only disadvantage of starting your rock and roll journey with "Stairway" is that it's sort of at the top of the rock and roll hierarchy. So after "Stairway" it's only downhill from there. I heard "Stairway" for the first time in the fall of 1973 when I was 12. I remember thinking that it as "lush" and "melodic." I knew it was a song that would get remembered because it was so different. But the legendary status the song has now was not evident at the time. It would take years for the song to achieve this stature.
Awesome watching you young dudes vibing with it.
Another great reaction to an iconic band. Glad your friend appreciated it.
I heard this on acid at 19yrs old in 1971 the day it came out. My musical bar was set then, and holds true to this day. Great reaction. Thanks guys.
The pure talent of Led Zeppelin.
I was in awe the first time I heard it. I love that solo, and those drums are amazing.
Thanks so much for this...your pure reactions is probably the same as the first time I heard it in '72....and still to this day!
It's still leaving us speechless!
My favorite song by my favorite band...
Yes!! No Quarter is a must on the playlist!!...
Dynamics are very important in music and the vocal intensity very much matches the rest of the music's intensity throughout.
Introducing your friends to classic rock, awesome!
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is still hope for the future🙂 Thanks for the reaction🙂
I see the smiles getting bigger as the song progresses. Great seeing that.
You should do stairway to heaven live...from song remains the same.
The solo is double length and incredible. 😎
Zep truly is a band for the ages.... for all ages...
The grin on the metalhead's face is priceless LOL!!!🥰🥰
Well DONE!
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born on the Bayou
Budgie - Breadfan
Ten Years After - I'd Love to Change the World
Mission accomplished !Bring your friend back for more please
LED ZEPPELIN, "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN". Like all 60's, and 70's, the music was more than outstanding. I glad you two like it. Another band to give some time to is, Traffic singing "DEAR MR. FANTASY", and "THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH HEELED BOYS"....
there was a recent poll to make the best best ever by picking individuals.
robert plant was voted BEST EVER singer
john bonham was voted BEST EVER DRUMMER
jimmy page was voted 2nd best EVER guitarist
and john paul jones was voted 3rd best bass player EVER. no other band got ANYWHERE NEAR that level of talent and chemistry, they were ALL top 3 ever!!!
Hey Brady
Aerosmith's " Dream On " ( 1972)
Is a close second to Stairrway( similar type of Epic Anthem) and essential reaction! 70's Aerosmith were like the
U, S equivalent of Zep & the Stones.
Aerosmith inducted Zep into the RocknRoll Hall of Fame and they performed together
.Funny 2 r Famous Rap tracks Sampled both Stairway & Dream On.
Hey Jonathan hope your doing well
I was watching and just waiting for him to smile. I knew it was coming, just didn't know when. And you're right, I've listened to it for forty years and it'll never get old.
