Only person I’ve seen pre fill the spin on oil filter. Good on you!!! Seriously like every main stream Alison 1000 transmission change video does not do that. No clue why. Makes sense just like you would on an engine oil filter. Thanks!!! Thought I was crazy for a minute!
Your videos are awesome. If i could make a suggestion, would you create playlist by vehicle brands? Obviously, I'm interested in learning about GM trucks. That would make it easy to find the videos that will help me. Thanks. Please keep up the awesome work!
Did you end up figuring it out? I’m assuming your new filter came with the orange rubber oring it doesn’t really sit in there very tight in the first place.
I've actually had a local Dealer tell me that you never change the fluid in an Allison... I don't buy into this line of thinking... Follow the money$$$... Every 50,000... No flush. That's my regiment.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE My 2007 GMC 2500 HD I bought about year old with just a few thousand miles on it. In now has about 225,000 & best I can tell, I don’t believe I’ve ever changed the transmission fluid, maybe I did at 100,000 but can’t recall. And mine still looks pretty clean, as I just finally replaced my transmission coolant lines, so lost a small amount of fluid. But that being said, I’m thinking I might be due to changing & filter change.
Thank you, learning how to work on my truck one UA-cam video at a time

Thanks a lot for making this clean video. I am going to work on mine now
You saved me $250! Thank you! Great video
This is an oustanding video. Thank you very much!!
Great walk through, thanks for sharing so we can "keep the beast on the streets"!! 😅🤣😂
The man. Good Video
The red filter is much more better than the black one.

Good tutorial
Thank you for the help!
Thanks very helpful
Was this a shallow or deep pan I have a lly I’m about to change
Is this considered the deep pan or the shallow one?
A person wants to be careful removing the orange seal and not scratch the inside of the bore..if it gets scratched it won't seal/will suck air
At how many miles should we change the transmission oil or filter ?
GM and Allison recommend doing it every 30k-40k miles.
Lot of clutch dust/material...that fluid was pretty nasty looking
Drain plug is 26 ft lbs
That fluid looks like hell.
What is part number of internal filter

He literally said it and showed it in the video. Did you even watch it?
Need help my filter is brand new and wont stay in

Why didnt you flush the whole transmission?
Flushing the transmission does more harm than good. Drain and refill plus filter replacement is what most manufacturers recommend.

Ain't you sapost to check in neutral?
No most manufacturers want you to check it in park.
The dipstick also says to check in Park when Hot. Great Video!
That oil looked horrible. Don’t see how it’s possible to hurt a Allison trans but looks like yours isn’t doing to hot.
The person i did this for bought the truck brand new and this was the first transmission service and if I remember right it had about 150k miles.
