I like it tbh, It's not like the story hurts the entire lore. It shows how Cain became the more maniac man we saw in D3 even more obsessed with the End of Days and shows some smaller stuff which is just as important as the lore of the bigger events
You'll be disappointed. We're just running everywhere trying to destroy what's left of the Worldstone. Haven't seen Diablo. No signs of him. The only cool thing is the fight against Baal.
Nice! Another lore video AND its about a game I have little interest other than its lore. With this video I can move on to better things with no regrets. Thanks Rhykker!
I tried playing Immortal at launch and once I figured out the game was an infinite vertical treadmill AND based around buying loot drops with currency, I deleted it immediately. It sucks because as far as the polish of the game and the feel of it it's super well done for a mobile game, but then it reminds me of why I don't bother with mobile gaming at the same time. That entire space is rotten, it sucks that talented developers did so much good work that went to waste there.
I tried watching a walkthrough to see the lore, because I won't play this crap. But even if it skips hours of grinding it was difficult to keep my attention, it was boring as hell. The video lasts about 3 to 4 hours. I'm glad Rhykker saved me from watching the last 2 hours of that.
I love that you did this, Rhykker! I played the game till I just couldn't get by without buying into the in-game purchases, and stopped. I never spent a dime, but I always wondered what story is going on in there. Thanks for this upload!
I think there could be one episode dedicated to just tracking Diablo soul (and other bits) current location 😀 So we destroyed his soulstone in D2 after killing his manifestation. But that was caught by Black Soulstone as a par of master plan (D3), but before it was caught by Black Soulstone he worked a gig as a chair? And upon destroying said chair it was freed, manifested again for a bit... And then got sucked by black soulstone? Also... we don't really know where the soul even is now (D4) :-D Someone put a tracker on it please
Only one more video, huh? You might make it there before the Diablo channel lore videos. Hurry, tho, they've already made it all the way to the creation of Sanctuary. 🤣🤣🤣
I just got into Diablo for the first time by running through the campaign for Diablo 3 a few weeks ago, and this series helped round out my knowledge of the lore so well in time for Diablo 4. Thanks to this series, the Diablo 4 plot has seemed so much more impactful and exciting. Can’t believe this has been so long in the making, and I’ve caught up enough to eagerly anticipate the next episode!
Yes! Yes! Only D3 story left now. But thats a big one. And many. So… maybe we should only expect base game D3 to get done before release of D4. And a bit after that we can hope for… The 3 companions’ stories in a standalone piece. And Reaper of Souls gets it’s own as well.
I love the little stops and staring into the camera when you mention wortham being saved or leoric geting killed as if we dont know what happend in diablo 3 already
So when they freed the captured Angels when they entered Hell, is it safe to assume that's when Inarius was freed? Cause I can't seem to figure out how the heck Inarius ended up back in Sanctuary in D4, I have a theory that Inarius is essentially Mephisto's trojan horse to get into Heaven, I mean the guy is acting extremely sketchy, he's become very Narcissistic, I mean he killed someone pretty important(won't say names for those who didn't play in the Beta).
I really enjoyed playing immortal in the first few days, but even without PvP and the pay2win issues, it just never grabbed me enough to actually finish the campaign. Having the story locked behind "requires lvl XX for next quest" and having no real fun way to grind levels just ruined it for me.
Truly, you are a lore master beyond what I believe you realize. I can listen to you for hours. Yeah, it's that bad, but don't let this over admiration put pressure on you. My comment is of admiration and over-excitement of this lore that you are the narrator of. While I am a diehard Tolkien fan and player of LOTRO, you making me debate on being a Diablo player as well😶
i decided to watch through this in my agony of waiting for d4, by end of episode one, I couldnt stop. thank you rhykker, love the series, amazing to learn just how much lore there is to these games.
7:20 we better get the remaining areas unlocked in future expansions for Diablo 4. Especially the Jungle south of Gea Kul, Port city Lut Gholein west of Gea Kul, Khanduras... And ofc Tristram. ++
I watcher your vids like a year ago just for funzies, and remembered them because I wanted a recap before playing D4. I wasn't expecting any new videos but it's epic you continued with the series lore up to d3 (thus far) and it's been a great time re watching the older vids and seeing the new content. Awesome job mate
Hey Rhykker, is there a ep.13? It's Sunday 6/25/23 and I've spent the last 3 days tearing through this lore. You end each video like an episode of 1966 batman(cliffhanger) but then it bleeds into no #13. I've never played Diablo, but I'm a fan of video game lore and this is Gold.
Is the story of Immortal canon? Because prior to the release of the game, there was no mention of the immortals, Daedessa, Kion and Akeba anywhere in the lore. Its like they are just shoehorned just like that. Which is fine if its not important but the immortals is a fraction that fights demon serving as Sanctuary’s protector and we never heard of them until now
Just finished the Hell VI story. Was awesome, won’t spoiler anything. Wondering if the story of what happened there is the end? Felt like it should go further, couldn’t find anything online though.
Rhykker thanks a lot for these, i tried getting back tonthe diablo games, and your lore videos really got me interested more then ever. See all of you in the sanctuary
Please make the Diablo three lore video soon I am a completely blind gamer who has just been able to play Diablo4 because of the amazing accessibility features blizzard added and I am currently getting caught up on the three games that were inaccessible to me through your videos
I want to know where Leah was during Diablo Immortal. She'd be about 5 years old at that point. Obviously she wasn't with Cain, so where was she and who was watching her until she started travelling with him?
That moment when you come across the final end boss (named Immortal), except he's not immortal. he can be killed. With cash. Pure cash loaded directly into a crossbow. FIRE!
And the great hero spent $400k real monies to over come evil lol. I loved immortal just not the pay to win I still play it now and then can't wait for the D3 Lore and the release of D4.
Holy crap, they uglified Charsi, when I played she was a sexy 100 pixel red bombshell. Just like lara croft, you fill in what you can't see. damn she's rough. Pretty sure I'm not crazy though and she was originally made to be cute and got wokified, "it doesn't make sense that in an about to be apocalypse without showers that there are pretty girls around"
Jesus, now I get why they did what they have done Diablo 3. The story needed to be roped because it goes like this - there was x elements (characters, and in general some form of actors that influenced narrative this or that way) involved at start of the act, by the act 2 there was (5x)^2 by the end of the story, the original x were never only x but triple x and that all boiled down to Taylor Expansion of the function that had open ending for a sequel that follows. Diablo lore pre Diablo 3 is so messy. It just doesn't have a good flow. Almost reminds of Roberts Jordan story telling writing style (excellent world building, bad everything else)
Holy Hell am I glad that I never played Immoral. Not only was it a terrible cashgrab but they really went ahead and recycled the living shit out of existing material for some cheap fanservice.
Immortals: When we ignore our own lore and break our own worldbuilding rules to try to squeeze whales in foreign markets on a platform no serious gamer, either recreational or competitive, wants to bother with.
Your gonna sit here and tell me I just played through the whole game just to learn the lore when I could have just waited and watched this video? Mannnnnnnnnnn
I demand a Collector's Edition Autographed DVD collection with additional commentary for this entire series Rhykker!!
Just a dvd edition? I'm sure there's plenty opportunity for a blu-ray & a UHD collectors editions as well with commentary's and much more.
@@andrewlaidlaw7975 Pace yourself, we have to re-release this every 5 years with updated commentary on the evolving plot.
Can I get it on LP as well? Just cause?
I do not see Immortal as cannon lore, it is just something that happened in Greed's domain.
See what you did there 😂👌🏻

love the little jokes with a great lore explanation. "incels, i mean rogue rogues" had me dying. great vid as always man
Immortal lore videos are really needed because i will never touch that steaming heap. Having said that OMG cant wait for 4's release, so close
It's actually not bad if you only play the story
@@faridronin Year played through the story and it wasnt actually bad. What drags this game down is the grind and the pay to win aspect.

How do you feel about D4 now?
Yes, more lore~ Almost launch, you can do it! These will help us get over this last stretch of time that seems to take forever~
Haha you’re right
Stay awhile and listen…
I stayed a while years ago, haven't left since.
I've been following this series since day one and I would not have imagined that it would ever catch up to D4. I love you
You can get to D4 launch in time! Keep going!! Also, this is one I'm very interested in since I won't be touching DI

Uncle Rhykker, will you tell me another bed time story? One with Skull thrones and power vacuums?
Where is the Diablo 3 lore? I've been binging this playlist and I need more
the way rhykker said leoric will never rise again and the short silence afterwards make me think he'll be in d4 :P
