Mephisto: Father of Lilith & The Prime Evils - Diablo Lore: Part 3
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 сер 2024
- The story of Diablo 1, Diablo 2, and Diablo 3 doesn't fully explain all the lore of Diablo. In episode 3 of this Diablo lore series, we look at who the Prime Evils were: Diablo, Mephisto - the father of Lilith - and Baal. We discuss their discovery of Sanctuary and their plan to create the Triune and star the Sin War. Could any of this lore be relevant to Diablo 4? Could Diablo 4 be a prequel?

In 3 episodes, you've taught me more than I've learned from playing the games for 20 years... well done!
What he said 👍
Lol I never pay attention while playing the game I just wanna kill some demons.
“Mephis spirit of love” *who was actually mephisto lord of hatred* mood
My ass burns
"Bring little Diablo with you" 😂
Maaaaaaaaaaaa
I get that these videos are five years old, and probably don't fit some algorithm BS, but man are they just the right size. So many videos in 2023 are half an hour and way less engaging, both because of the length and just the lack of entertainment. Wish I'd found them sooner. Big props, my guy, this is how you lore video. Everybody take notes.
This is helpful to explain the Diablo 4 trailer.
Yes
Totally why I'm here.
Ya I had to watch the Lilith one, now I'm about to smash the rest. Hope Rhykker does a new one soon, maybe a part 10.5 to rehash the lore. Been playing Diablo since its inception and have missed about 95% of this. Don't know if thats my fault or Blizzards.
@@maxpain6156 Majority of the lore is from supplementary material. I ignore any lore that isn't from the games, so most of this stuff is new to me. Mainly Blizzard's fault. If they want people to see lore, then they can put it in their games, not try to force people to buy more shit (books, comics, etc) to complete the info.
@@SStoj i do not think that a book or a cool comic is a "shit" as you mentioned it. I know nowadays ppl hate reading because they have to use their imagination, but this is a personal problem :D
"Indulgences of lil' baby Diablo."
A line I didn't know I needed to hear.
I am absolutely sick and tired of UA-cam channels putting stuff up with titles like "________ EXPLAINED" and "EXPLORING ______ LORE" and it just being some guy reading off the wiki for whatever given property it is or just rambling for 11 minutes. I clicked on this series without really thinking, and was about to back out thinking I was going to be bamboozled again but it's three episodes later and I'm glad I didn't! Great use of humor, well structured lore explanations, and good editing are making me happy to come back and I'm happy to subscribe 😊
I have holes in my mouth
@@MultiLexos no shit
Had me in the first half
Someone needs to take this story and adapt it into an HBO/Netflix show. It could be incredible with our CGI nowadays.
I've never played any diablo games but I really liked the lore.
Same. I’m really enjoying the lore series here. I’m prolly still not gonna play the series but at least I can enjoy the lore!
@@BabyKhan-pb9ov i feel the same way i got a console but rarely use it, let alone a laptop.
Diablo 2 is by far the greatest. Made in 2000 and people still play it like crazy. The real question is why hasnt blizzard remastered it yet
Frickin weirdos
Guys, play at least the first one.
Now remembering how much of a gut punch it was to see all the D3 concept art that was never utilized...
i've found myself to really like this new series so far. Loving the humor touch here and there!
2:36 I simply cannot wait for Mephisto and Baal to be added in Heroes of the Storm so we can see this kind of interaction between them and Diablo in the pre-match conversations.
5:13 Also worth noting, the Sorcerer from Diablo I (whose real name is Jazreth) became The Summoner fought at the Arcane Sanctuary in Diablo II.
8:27 Now I also want a Mecha Diablo skin for Heroes of the Storm where he turns into a Lamborghini when mounting.
I love how all the D1 heroes can be seen in D2 :)
Even the "DLC" ones appears in D2?
Besides the Summoner, who else in D1 could be seen in D2? Never played D1.
Yes indeed.
Took me a long time to understand this :) Like I played D1 but was so young back then and during D2 launch I was just so hyped and played soo much and only later on went deeper to the story.
The Rogue is the Bloodraven
The Sorcerer is the Summoner
The Warrior is the Dark Wanderer aka Diablo :)
@Sun Shower
Out of the playable characters, all of them.
*_"The Warrior",_* Aidan, the eldest son of King Leoric, who killed Diablo himself in the depths of hell below the Cathedral of Tristram. Diablo was possessing the body of his younger brother, Albrecht. In an attempt to contain the evil essence of Diablo, Aidan shoved the soulstone on his forehead and became the Dark Wanderer before being completely taken over by Diablo.
*_"The Rogue",_* Moreina, part of the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye, joined Aidan in his quest to slay Diablo. After the events of Diablo I she returned to her order in the Rogue Encampment, scarred by the events. This moment of weakness made her vulnerable, and she was eventually corrupted by Andariel, and became the Blood Raven. In Diablo II, Act I, Akara even mentions that the Blood Raven was one of the heroes that fought Diablo in Tristram.
*_"The Sorcerer",_* Jazreth, was a member of the Vizjerei Clan sent to investigate Tristram, and joined Aidan and Moreina in their quest. Like Moreina, he was also traumatized by the battles that took place below Tristram's Cathedral, and later traveled to Lut Gholein to find the Arcane Monastery. After fighting countless demons in the Cathedral of Tristram, Jazreth wanted to go back to the roots of the Vizjerei teachings and learn how to bend the will of demons himself, but this led to him being corrupted by the demonic influence. He then took the mantle of The Summoner and impersonated Horazon. In Diablo II, Act II, Deckard Cain mentions that The Summoner bears resemblance to the sorcerer he met in Tristram.
Among other returning characterss, there is also Griswold, the Blacksmith, and Wirt, both characters from Diablo I that can be found at Tristram in Act I, during the quest to rescue Deckard Cain. As you know, Griswold is fought as a Unique Undead, while Wirt's body can be found, where he drops plenty of gold and his wooden leg (which is a material for opening the Cow Level portal).
I'm rewatching these after the announcement of D4, and I absolutely adore the amount of personality you put into these
The Sin War books were such a good read! A must read for any fan of the Franchise!
Soooooo sanctuary is Flat right?
Nope, it's being carried by a giant man
If you got the world stone it can be whatever you want
Azeroth is flat aswell since you are able to see Argus from all over Azeroth at the same time which is only possible if its Flat :D
Lul
@@LittleZero86 I think the continents of Azeroth are all on a single hemisphere.
I also wanted to say how much I appreciate your work in explaining the lore of the game. Your very knowledgeable and your passion for accuracy is very evident. Thanks so much for your videos and please keep them coming!
Also I'm sure I speak for others when I say I hope for more of the lore to come through in future games.
you're doing gods work with these lore videos, I feel so ignorant to the lore of diablo even though I've played it for over 10 years. This is so interesting! Love it man!
Inarius became a social media influencer
"That's a real thing, look it up." Best line in the video for me.
Can't get enough of this series! keep them coming I would say.
REALLY digging this series of videos, Rhykker. Thanks for keeping these coming steadily and major props to you or whomever you hired to do all these thumbnails for your videos. AWESOME ART, dood.
I love this series man, the humor is great and makes it really fun to watch. I've always enjoyed Diablo's lore but this is by far the best please keep these going!
Just found this lore video playlist. Love learning about this universe! Your idioms are also such a great personal touch to your readings!
The sin war books are fucking terrific. Such a good read.
These lore videos are so good. When I watch the videos it feels like I am feeling the creation of religon throughout yhe history of humanity. Excellent job.
I highly recommend giving the Sin War series a read if you haven't already great lore and fills in alot of the backstory not told in any of the main Diablo story line
These are great man, and a nice change of pace from the regular content. As someone who read the books a LOONG time ago, I forgot a lot of this stuff. Hope to see more in the future, very well done.
I am absolutely loving the lore segments man. These are just great. And you kinda got a good story telling voice as well.
When Rhykker gets his closeup comparing him to Inarius I cracked up so hard.
Yes! Love these videos! Keep up the great work Rhykker!
mephisto is in the game
I realize this is almost two years old, but I'd suggest subtitles for the names (and places). :)
Why haven't i saw this earlier?! I see you in a different light now Rhykker! You're a great story teller man :)
I could listen to you talking about angels and demons for hours ^^
Thank you for the Lore videos( and videos in general).
So, the prophet Irina keeps talking about in D3 is actually Inarius. Interesting. Keep up with this great series!
Really loving this series! I hope you do more. Blizzard lore has been my favourite and why I've been playing their games since I was a kid
Love it. Im gearing up for diablo 4 and learning the back story
So much of this is not easily accessible in the game and to be honest the game does not suffer from it sometimes you need that sense of wonder and excitement. Nice video. Keep up the good work.
Love these lore videos! Make more of them!
So freaking cool thanks for those videos, so looking forward for the next ones !
More!!!! Truly love these vids. Awesome work and keep it up.
Really enjoying this series of videos. Haven't followed the game from the beginning so these are informative - doesn't hurt that you are a good conveyor of information and entertaining - cheers!
When the High heavens find out about sanctuary
High heavens: " I smell some heresy "
This is really cool! More visual would be amazing, cut scenes, concept art, etc
I can't wait for the next part!
Looking forward to the ep. 4! Keep on doing these :)

These stories are great and you do a good job telling the story. Makes me wish more for a MMORPG created from this lore would be so epic.
The Original Funkoman well there’s a game created from this lore. Can’t remember the game’s name. I only know it has 3 parts and the last part was 10 years late
@@omgosh9301and the 4th 10 years late too

Love this series!
Good job!
These are my favorite videos!
Wow you make it sound like a tv with that ending 😂
I haven't played any diablo in many months, but I still love those lore videos! Honestly, they make me want to play again.^^
Cant wait to slay demons and angels with mommy
I seriously thought he was going to say NEXT TIME ON DRAGONBALL Z
keep'em coming!
love these lore videos
great video
Just started following and recently kicked started diablo 3 again. I am enjoying your videos and content.
So since the angels and demons just respawn when slain, the demons would be destined to win the Eternal Conflict because of their ability to corrupt and their sheer numbers? Other than the soul stones which merely contain the essences of demons (which still allows them to corrupt nearby beings), I can’t see a way for the angels to truly defeat the demons.
Keep em coming! Upvoted
So during season 18 of Diablo 3, were the powers of the Triune actually being given by the prime evils? MIND BLOWN. We were actually worshipping them last season! (The different sub cults of the Triunes had the same themes as each of the different Triune circles.
Oh come on!!! Just 12min?!
Still, amazing content as usual man!
This is Rhykkerrrrrrrrrrrr
Great video bro ^_^
two bros are in HOTS
Now we wait for Baal too :D
*hyped*
Hell yeah now we are round the sin war trilogy great books
do you think you could do a lore video on Diablo: Hellfire? or maybe about some of the books that haven't been talked about in game
This serie is good AF
Man i love these vids
You need to speed up publishing these so I don't have to pull my books out! ;) Excellent work!
Excellent content!
But have you seen it with subs? The names are hilarious.
