The one thing I love about both Insideout 1 and 2 is how it makes me analyze and check in with myself.
Last year was the roughest time of my life and I feel like this year, my joy, core values, and what I truly love are finding their way back to me ❤
Yes!!! wow fully agree!! i kept just comparing these emotions to my own!
the first one was sadness now 10 years later Anxiety is the more relatable one!
Well put! So awesome that you're doing better.
@@burnt-pop-corn thank you!
I was 6 when The First Inside Out came out and now I'm 15 and This has been the roughest Year of My Life just going through Puberty and all that stuff and a lot of really difficult things happened for Me but Watching This Film I Related to it more than any Movie I think I've Ever Seen I'm Experiencing what Riley is Experiencing and it just made Me remember that Everything's going to be Ok eventually.
And it was just Such a Good Movie!
I've been hearing plenty of good stuff about the movie so far, and because of that, it's making me even more excited for it. I was originally excited yet still had some concerns, but after some of the stuff I've been hearing, I'm now going in with hardly any concerns and am just excited.
Don't have your expectations too high!
First episode is 10/10, this one I can give it 9/10. It’s way higher than my expectation
@@leonli7394 bro said “episode” 😭
I saw the movie yesterday and it was absolutely incredible. I'm not sure if it was better than the first one but you should definitely check it out either wayyyy
@@leonli7394 for me it's the opposite
I didnt cry the first, but I couldn't even hold it back on the 2nd
Prob because of my current age. But the lack of detours compared to the first movie made this hit hard. (When I say detours, I mean there's less dream cinema, less abstract thinking, there's a few silly areas here and there on the 2nd so it really focused heavily on the emotional impact)
Anxiety needed that hug, loved when Joy got her a chair she can be relaxed in at the end.
Amazing movie. This could get the Oscars for Best Animated Feature.
Inside Out is my favorite Pixar film, and my second-favorite Disney-affiliated animated film at all after 1994’s Lion King. Seeing both Sean and Dan Murrell love this film so much is making my showing this evening so exciting!
Pixar is back!!! Let’s goooo!!!
Elemental was that bad ????
@@AliFrankTheTank I thought it was very good, I really enjoyed it. It’s kinda over-hated.
Remember, just because one studio made a good movie (Puss in Boots 2) doesn't mean that the next movies later on will be as good as this (Megamind 2)
@@wogardrodriguez2671 You’re damn right
@@wogardrodriguez2671to be fair, megamind 2 was not a sequel in the same way that puss in boots 2 was. megamind 2 was made by dreamworks' television division, making it much more akin to a tv movie or straight to dvd film, rather than a proper movie. the main issue is that dreamworks tried to market it as a proper sequel, which it was never intended to be.
I just saw Inside Out 2 I can confidently say it’s a flawless masterpiece! This is prime Pixar at its best! This is the Pixar we know and love. This may be a little controversial, but I think Inside Out 2 might be my new #1 favorite Pixar movie. Inside Out 2 made me feel something I’ve never felt before. There isn’t a word for it, it just felt special, or heartwarming! That’s the best way I can describe it. The minute the music started playing in the beginning, I immediately started crying of happiness because I remembered how amazing the original was. Keep in mind I’m 21 years old and I rarely ever cry at all. It takes a lot to get me to cry, and for Pixar to be able to crack at that and get me to cry should say something. Inside Out relates to me and almost everyone because we all express emotions and growing up can be a challenge especially teenage years.
Here is an interesting Easter egg that I just caught while looking over the bedroom scene where all the emotions sleep. When they zoom in on Joy, if you look next to her bed you can see a Bing Bong statue or mini toy. Such a nice touch. 😭💔
The music gets me every time too man
i think inside out 2 is the best pixar film
You really are a joke. I wun say inside out 2 is a disaster but it's not a film that I am going to remember after say 2 weeks. It's just a genetic film that's all. You really think this film is comparable to the original star wars or avatar etc.
I think you are not right up there to be honest
I was 11 when the first movie came out. I saw it in theaters and I absolutely fell in love with it! I even remember seeing it again in theaters that summer. Now I'm 20 and I'm excited to see the sequel in theaters!
Same lol. Shoutout 2003
Omg same
I’m taking my mom to see this on her birthday.
Nice!! Hopefully she enjoys it!!!
June 14th? If so then fun fact: she shares a birthday with Donald trump
@@ItsLucasLazer No, June 17th.
@@SG002 oh ok
Well happy birthday to her
This movie was exactly what I was hoping it would be. I love the first, and this one definitely holds its own in comparison. Fantastic stuff
Soul to me is a special movie
It really hit me in 2020 too. I graduated college (online) and felt really lost dealing with the pandemic. It hit a lot of the right notes.
"Maybe growing up means there's less Joy."
Dang, Pixar bringing the truth out.
I balled like a baby at that one.
Nah word, that hit me like a truck in the theater
@@jordansweet8054haha. Guess your school life must be pretty p a thetic
Oh thank god Pixar is back!!!
(For now at least)
One thing I think you missed on the “Bad” section was the character of Envy. I thought Envy barely even represented what she was supposed to be and served only as a character that allowed Anxiety to bounce off of her.
Yes, I felt kinda the same way. I wish they would of explored envy more but when I thought about it, envy and anxiety can go hand in hand. Like you see other people in your life who are doing way better than you and that makes you envious and you put tons of pressure on yourself to get like them, which is anxiety.
The original inside out is my favourite non toy story pixar film, I feel like I was the perfect age to see it at the time and I had recently moved house so it really touched me. However, I didn't have the highest expectations for this because I haven't been impressed by Pixar's films over the past few years and the trailers didn't blow me away, so this review has got me excited and now I honestly can't wait to check it out.
I saw Inside Out 2 yesterday, and I really loved the sequel
Ever since watching this movie, I cannot get Pouchy out of my head. He so reminded me of Toodles from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
i am so so so happy that everyone is enjoying this movie! i saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it!
Looks like Pixar is back at the box office! Great video Sean, I completely agree with you. This is a return to form and another Pixar classic!
Hoping it’s really good. Pixar being my second favorite studio, I haven’t been a big fan of their last couple of movies, tho I have at least liked them. I’m hoping I’ll love this one and that it’ll be a great time at the movies with the fam 👍

My favorite would have to be Ghibli
I saw the movie and I love it. Possibly the best Pixar movie. I like this movie on the same level as the first movie.
Sadness is my favourite character too❤❤❤
I can’t believe how personal this movie felt to me. It was so good👌😄
Great Review Sean and I’m so glad you enjoyed it so now I feel better about seeing it myself cause I’ve been nervous for Pixar but one good thing I found out today was that Pixar said their not going the live action movie route which is a breath of fresh air in my opinion just stick to animation because that’s the best 😊 Have a Great Day and God Bless you and your family ✝️🙂
I love how the film tackles many abstract ideas and makes it simpler for kids. Both these films are absolutely top tier pixar for me and I love how they make/help me to feel my emotions!
Never knew your emotions are that "simple". I mean animalistic
Watching inside out two and I loved it. The way it tackled handling your new emotions as you grow up while also deciding the kind of person you wanna be.
1. I enjoy Inside Out
2. I am excited about Inside Out 2
And we were all worried about Pixar. If it wasn’t attached to Disney they’d be showing us how it done. To bad it is that funding that give them the creative freedom.
I think this movie is an absolute Disney masterpiece🙌 it’s such an amazing movie for adults and children and in ways an important one for children to watch, solid 10/10 for me
Really excited for this one and super happy to hear the good reviews! I loved the original and thought it was ripe for a sequel ever since I saw it. Can't wait!
Looking forward to this one. Hope its not disappointing like most other stuff coming out of pixar sequals these days
Great review sean and I am excited to watch this as I really liked the first movie!
You should do an updated video of ranking every Pixar movie including Inside Out 2 from the worst to best!
Are you new here? He's the ranking guy! It's what he does!
Glad to hear. Looking forward to this one and hoping it would be a point on the board for Pixar, which they haven't had in a while.
I'm so glad you mentioned how riley was a actual character now that was my biggest takeaway. In the first one I couldn't wait to get back to the emotions and riley was kinda background. In this one I wanted to keep seeing how her story would play out.
This movie really resonated with me. I’m about to head off to college and have been experiencing a lot of sentimental and anxiety inducing thoughts. I really enjoyed how the new emotions played into the story, especially anxiety. I was reminded of why I love Pixar and was given moments to reflect, I saw myself in Riley. Really solid film, not up there with the greats of the studio, but one that I appreciate and really feel will ring home with a lot of people.
I, like so many others in there, have been really nervous about seeing this film. But since watching your review I’ll definitely see it :)
I saw this today with my Mom and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was 8 when Inside Out released. I’ve always loved that film, but when you’re that age you mainly just understand the general ideas, and not as much the deeper themes. Now, seeing this in the theater 9 years later, I have nostalgia for that movie, but I’m also at the age where I can understand the jokes and themes because I’m literally going through everything this movie is talking about as we speak. For that latter reason a lot of this really hit home. Glad you liked it a lot too, Sean!
Inside out 1 and 2 are top 5 Pixar I love these movies
Definitely a special movie. I don’t care if people disliked it or not. This movie was such a good representation of teaching all ages about mental health and emotional intelligence. I feel like everyone should see it especially if you are someone that deals with anxiety, having trouble balancing your emotions and if you don’t feel good about yourself. Great message and loved the positive affirmations in the movie
Woww wow wow..this movie is for teens and also actually for people going through adulting where we feel scary of losing of ourselves & feeling lost..love the director, such a fun and intelligent way of storytelling..cried at climax..so much connected
Love this movie 5/5 ♥️♥️💥
I loved the first movie. I'm excited to see the sequel on Friday
Had so much fun with this movie
It was good in a really weird way- like the first movie you felt emotions spaced out but in this movie all of the emotions hit you like a truck! It also feels really quick but somehow still enjoyable. I liked it.
As a 23 year old woman who went to watch this movie, I agree with everything you said. It left me realizing new things about myself. It definitely is a special one! There were some parts that had me bawling like a baby
I am very excited I'm most likely seeing it Saturday
I'm going to see this movie with my former school parapro sometime next week. I can't wait to see it.
My number one most favorite pixar movie is inside out and my second favorite is elemental and I was 7 years old when the first movie came out and now I am 16 ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 and I also think that anxiety is one of those misunderstood villains 🧡 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
We are the same age

As a point of reference, I know that you really like Toy Story 4 (which only came out 5 years ago), and have it as one of your top Pixar movies. How does this movie compare to that on your Pixar ranking?
One of your better reviews (irregardless of the film and its quality), plus you made me laugh in your interaction with your daughter. I am very surprised in the metacritic score differences between the two and the difference in writers and directors may have something to do with it. The score has made me hesitant (as well as the price) of making this the second film I'll see in theatre's this year. I saw the first in the theatre and really did like it. I may see this one, not sure.
Best review I've seen. I described it to my friends as this movie feels like a therapy session to me.
That's why I will never go for therapy. You see I am much more complex then you
Nice! Not so sure If my cousins will enjoy this film though 🤣 but we'll give it a try.
I'm so glad to hear this sequel is good. I think the first one was really good and special
Great review my dude cant wait to see this movie and chloe looks like she really enjoyed it a lot too lol and from what I heard it's a movie everyone wants to especially teens who are into pixar as well :)
Amazing review 0:21
This is the first movie I saw in over a year being 25... I enjoyed it.
Loved it especially anxiety
can't wait to see it
Good:
This film explores the experiences and feelings of pubety to perfection! Its crazy how accurate the whole puberty story is. This is without a doubt the most relatable pixar film. The selected the perfect group of new emotions. The new emotions are very well designed and they're all really fun and quirky, anxiety is the big stand out. I like how anxiety is perceived as a villain but she has very good intentions. Once again the imagination is through the roof, with things like the sar-casm and the brain-storm. It was nice how Riley is much more of a character and we follow her life just as much as the emotions. Nice how the other og emotions were along for the ride too. The panic attack was the best scene in the film. It was a very powerful scene because of how incredibly well it visually showed an anxiety attack.
I did have a few minor criticisms though. For one it was strange how sadness spent the majority of the runtime completely seperate from the other og emotions. Also it didn't feel like the film had different acts. You couldn't tell where each act ended and began. Also even though there was plenty of emotion this film didn't quite reach the same emotional level that the original did. Like for example bings bongs death is probably the saddest scene in all of pixar.
But i still really liked and it and its so nice to have old pixar back
My only negative about Inside Out 2 is that the family island is way smaller than the friendship island. While it is accurate to teenagers, the way they mentioned it made me think it was for shadowing an important plot point; especially since Riley's parents were really important in the first one. Other than that, the movie was great.
See I have to disagree with you. I like that they kinda treated it as no big deal. Because it’s very true for almost every child that at some point, friends take center stage over family. And it doesn’t mean family is not important, but at some point it’s important for everyone to start making their own important relationships. As a parent it’s scary and a little sad to know that someday my kids won’t need me as much and they will probably view other relationships they have as being more important than their relationship with me, but it’s comforting to know that it’s natural. It’s comforting to remember that I went through the same thing. And I like that the movie presented it as natural instead of treating it as a problem.

$6.25 all the way baby!
I'm super excited to watch this movie! I really have got to rewatch the first one
As a 24 yr old man , completely loved this movie . So many emotions involved. Both movies are a 10/10 to me.
That axe murderer mustache/beard combo you got going there Sean. You're either a truck driver now or an axe murderer lol
Im making a review right now, i think it was a good movie but it can’t compare to the first one. The first was way more emotional and had better stakes.
I was 10 when the first one came out. They first movie I saw at the brand new movie chain that opened up near me (emagine). Loved every second of it and is still one of my favorite Pixar movies to this day. I’m 19 now. This movie lives up to the hype. I don’t think it’s quite as much a masterpiece but it’s still great. It’s ever so slightly weaker than the first but still a worthy and great sequel. Also related to this movie a lot, honestly more than the original.
Great Video!!! I LOVED THIS MOVIE SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! I Was 6 when The First Inside Out came out and now I'm 15. Having had a Similar Experience to Riley, With Moving Away from Home, I Related to it a lot and now as a Teenager, I Relate to it Even More now. It was So Sad and Emotional, But also So Sweet! Definitely One of My Favorite Pixar Films! And now with This Movie, Being a Teenager I Might Relate to it even more than The First One. This Movie Perfectly Captures what it's like to be a Teenager. All of The New Emotions were Fantastic! Anxiety in particular was Such a Fantastic Character! As someone who Definitely Experiences Anxiety, It was Such a Perfect Depiction of what Anxiety is and what it does to You. And Of Course all Of The Old Emotions were Great as Well! This Movie was just Absolutely Phenomenal!!! One Of The Best Pixar Movies Ever!!!!!!
the orginal felt so real
Just saw it, and loved it. It was such a great movie, better than the original, with personally emotions that work. It's Pixar magic

I get what it’s trying to say, I get it’s mature and deep, I get it’s a message everyone needs to hear and everyone loves to hear, but it just doesn’t work for me. I give it like a 6.5 personally.
I was 9 when the first came out and loved it so now I’ll be able to watch this film as an adult.
Will you do an updated Pixar ranking?
I honestly love this more than I did the first one. Don't get me wrong I loved the first one too, but coming into this with the perspective of a college student getting ready to move on to the next chapter of his life; I came to like this one more especially with a character like anxiety. I don't have real bad anxiety like most people but I like many people understood where anxiety was coming from in this story.
As for my thoughts on the current state of Pixar, I think Pixar is in a better place creatively than it was 14 years ago. For me personally, I've been loving the films they've been putting out since 2020 (with the exception of Lightyear.) Infact this is the first Pixar sequel that I've found to be on par with Toy Story 3.
So just because Pixar makes an average movie once in a while. It's now caught up. You are so easy to please
Anger is the best character. He consistently makes me laugh so hard
And funny how "anger" does not portray anger except by his make and shape
i soo cant wait i love animation and pixar
Nice.
Hey Sean I was wondering if you can rank all of the emotions
It’s crazy that when the first one came out I was 9 years old.
The Wild Robot and Despicable Me 4, good luck
One is generic and the other is a soulless cash grab.
Is it bad that this affirms the statements in the interview and will make Pixar do more sequels and less original films
Eh probably, it’s the first sequel in 5 years and I know they are going to make some more sequels, but I’d like if it was 60/40 sequel/original for a few years to think of and create new and original films.

Inside Out 2 feels so much smaller. The "Sarcasm" and "Brainstorm" are great world building, but they don't work too well as roadblocks because they aren't really a result of Riley's conflicting emotions. They're just a part of Riley growing up/literally thinking! (In the first movie, the roadblocks were Riley as a person breaking apart).
I'm looking forward to this movie, but will probably wait until it's on streaming services.
Bruh you’re the reason that Pixar has box office bombs. Please see this movie on the big screen.

I’m very glad this movie is good, but Pixar is going to continue to receive the wrong message: that sequels are preferred over original stories
Admittedly, I’m extremely late to the party to this franchise I’m about to watch the first film for the first time probably Friday evening before I go see the second movie with my mom on Saturday afternoon so admittedly, it’s one I haven’t gotten around to but, since I have Disney+ I’ll catch up on the original on Friday evening most likely with my mom before we go see the second one

Best movie I've the year?
To be honest I’m struggling as to which is my favorite movie of the year on one hand there’s kingdom of the planet of the apes which I thought was great but on the other hand there’s inside out 2 which really surprised me and I really enjoyed but I think I’m gonna have to go with kingdom just by a tiny bit though I do think that movie has more flaws it’s just I love that franchise and I thought it was great but inside out 2 is in really close second
Nice To See A Not Only Good But Great Pixar Sequel, I Don't Think We've Had A GREAT Pixar Sequel Outside Of Toy Story
Um monsters university it’s a prequel I know but it’s still a second movie and the incredibles 2 were great sequels
Haven’t watched the video yet. I’m guessing the score is an A 9.0
