3 strokes and a heart attack. Most people don't get them until their 60's and 70's, and she had both at 26. Damn. She is resilient as hell.
OTT
Hmm, let's see... she's 26... and resilient... I wonder why... It's a mystery.
She was also doing drugs. Psh I had a stroke with no drugs involved. Never have done them. At 24 I had a stroke.
So it happens, happens more so when you add drugs. A least she gets to get help and overcome it. Some of us don’t get that much.
She’s 28
I don’t a person is resilient when they are the reason why they had an issue on their first place. She is more like addicted to destroy herself
she has a song called Heart Attack way back in 2013
And hearing that she actually had a heart attack hurts that much more
what's the point of even saying that? she already said she will no longer sing that song bc of this horrific and traumatic experience
She jinxed herself 😳
@@DaveGrohlsprincess why would u say that...
@@DaveGrohlsprincess y'all are messed up real bad
This will help other people open up and be honest about their addiction. I pray for Demi and everyone with these issues. It affects the person and the entire family.
You couldn't have said it better❤️
Being honest and talk about it is not the issue here , she need to stop or she is going to loose her life , everytime she talks about it and everybody says she is brave , honest ... But no one says : girl you need to get your shit together ,you need to be strong and fight it . This talking about it thing she does everytime , only get her publicity and more funs .
Lost a best friend to heroin. It takes way more strength than the average person has to ask for help let alone commit to the help. Bless this woman. Keep fighting Demi!
I’m so sorry for your loss 💔God bless🤍
Just lost a childhood friend from an overdose today. I hate drugs with a passion ...
I am so sorry. Only time can heal
Sorry for your loss 💌
kind of a good thing, weakness leaving the gene pool

Thank you! Prayers going back to you too man 😊
Thanks, you too.
@J Amen
You too!
What she needs to do is delete her social media, put her career on hold, we get it girl, you have so much talent, but please REALLY focus on your self.
She keeps coming back and it’s only hurting her because she ends up on square one. She needs to stop. It’s like watching a train wreck. She’s done like how many of these documentaries ? She hasn’t done any progress 💔 fame isn’t helping her. She clearly has all the money she could ever need, and it’s the fame that doesn’t let her focus on her true self. Every time she gets up she falls back even harder. Enough of being famous and in the public eye. She needs to put an end to it for HER.
It’s really sad
Update: i don’t hate her. I really like her voice and music, but she has gotten to an age where it’s far from acceptable to continue with poor choices and behavior. She can keep making music, that’s her passion, but what I’m saying is she needs to disengage from certain things and focus on her and not the outside world.
she’s had a-lot of progress, she’s getting stronger everyday from what i’ve seen i don’t know her personally, but i know she works her ass off. she’s one of the strongest women i know. she took almost a year off to figure out how to live a life SHE wants without her team controlling her, you’re right fame can hurt people but calling her a trainwreck from where she is right now is a little excessive.
What she really needs is to stay single for a while and really focus on herself. She seems to have progressed this time after the overdose, but I still fear she’ll end up dead
No, everyone be quiet 🤐. Zoey is right. She needs to put her career on hold. It’s every like 3 years she repeats the same patterns. How many times does someone need to relapse before you finally accept the lady has a problem? It’s very sad watching this play out.
She did, after her overdose, she did take the time to came back.
@@TonyLaJolla yeah! actually I did feel concern, like, on the MTV one she said she was better, then simply complicated came and the same, now, when she was dead for some minutes she comes back with this, I really really hope she stops with this pattern of getting back to the same old bad stuff and tragically kills hersellf.
hopefully this is a lesson for everyone in the industry.
Its not a lesson, happens all the time! Celebrities do this.

@@mikeredline27 well if you do some research a person can really survive several strokes if medical action is on hand. :]

@@lancep.1690 I think her youth helped her as well.
If she keeps doing drugs it won't take long until the strokes or heart attack catches up to her. Sad to see people not care about their life and waste it all away.
@@oAgL214 Depression is diff. from not giving care to her own life...also her life isn't wasted she saved a lot of person thru her songs and being open of her story...also I think she learned her lessons if shit 3strokes and a heart attack isn't enough to change someone's pov in life.
I feel sorry for all she went thru and I cant imagine if i were put to that situation
I see strokes and heart attacks in patients 60+, not 20s...that’s insane. So happy she pulled through. It’s an ongoing battle but she seems strong as hell. 💜
Unfortunately many people have them young even without drugs 😔
Insane??? Seriously??? She was using drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How does that make anyone strong???
@@Michelle-pn9xt not sure if you’re aware, but addiction is a disease. So she’s strong for fighting it and still being here today. 😊
@@breeannwalker8309 of course young people have them occasionally but it isn’t the norm. I work on a neuro unit and it’s 90% older people...typically if we see people this young it’s because of them having chronic conditions that make their blood hyper coagulate or from bad accidents. Three strokes.. how do her motor skills still work normally? That is major damage
Exactly
There are different types and degrees of strokes. She may have had mini strokes. Bobby Brown (Whitney Houston's husband) had a stroke from doing drugs and he's never walked or talked the same again.
She has said she couldn’t read for 2 months after rehab and she can’t drive bc she has blind spots in her vision
Not necessarily. Depends on what type of stroke and where. They can have different levels of severity.
Get education on them. I had one with little to no deficits after only 3 weeks of PT. The procedure to fix it 6 months later caused paralysis on my whole left side. After months of PT and learning how to walk again noone would know now. It was 5 years ago.
She cannot do drugs again. She won't survive another relapse. Hoping Demi commits to her sobriety for the rest of her life! 🙏♥️ We love you Demi!

Easier said than done . It’s not like she’s not trying
Are you kidding me? Do better? Do you have a slightest clue what addiction is about or how hard it is to deal with let alone having the issue while also being a celebrity figure who is constantly in the spotlight, stressed, busy and have no life of their own? Addiction is a disease just like any other. Would you tell a cancer patient to "do better?" Maybe educate yourself on the issue before saying things like that.

Yep! Finally someone said it and sees it . This is all God only reason she’s alive you think she’d live for God and talk to young people about that .
She releases a documentary and an album after every overdose. It's sad that her career is now based on sensationalism. But not the kind that people love to watch. It's the self destructive kind.
Omg THIS comment!!!! It’s totally true and it sucks because... she doesn’t need all of this, she’s so talented!
She’s publicly overdosed over or twice and the documentary is literally talking about old stuff. Y’all are actin like this is new stuff happening again but it’s not

@Jodie daubenmire and youre the perfect consumer that this is marketed towards. TWICE actually
She’s only overdosed once? She does this to help people you fucking idiot. Why is it okay for the media to talk about it for almost 3 years and spread false rumors but when she addresses it to help people and set the record straight, it’s not okay and it’s for publicity. FUCK YOU. You know nothing about addiction. It’s a lifelong battle & disease and you clearly don’t understand how hard it is to deal with it. She helps MILLIONS everytime she tells her story. nah that’s what we’re not gonna do, i struggle with a lot of the same things Demi does and i appreciate the hell out of her for bringing light to such a taboo topic! if we’re going to stop the shameful stigma when it comes to mental illness then we NEED people like Demi with huge platforms who actually use it for good bringing awareness to these things, we need to stop trying to force people to be silent on these things because it affects so many people 🤷🏻♀️
@@lindseylester9781 this is what I was thinking. I think it's great she's showing recovery is not linear. Sometimes you'll take a step back and relapse, but ultimately continue on recovery. That's more realistic to normal people's experience of addiction I think, its great she's showing that.

She took a step back for 3 years. If you see her on social media, you can very clearly see how much progress she has made. She’s far happier and healthier than she ever was now and a lot of that is bc she is no longer with the management and team that abused and enabled her.

See this isnt about money. Its about letting people know that struggling with your mental health is okay and that there is way out of this.
When someone talks about mental health they do start a conversation and that's what important about these documentaries

How many times is she gonna make a documentary about starting over, being sober, going back to what she likes to do? Being Strong? Surviving? Look at me and how strong I am although I relapse each time! This is what prevents you from healing! Stop this cycle narrative, get proper help and stay away from this toxic attention, the minute you don't have it anymore cause you're doing well, you'll hit bottom again. You're a singer, sing and talk about that.
And she’s been on drugs while filming her documentaries.
she has a right to tell her story after so much misinformation is out there don’t you think? people constantly make fun of her, spin lies about her and she’s just supposed to take it? let her heal the way she thinks is best. her telling her story helps so many people who struggle, including myself
You do know that she has gone through a lot of so much severe struggles and abuses. You do know that mental illness is extremely hard to be managed and treated and you also do know getting sober and getting away from addiction is a very long process. At the end of the day there are plenty of other people on similar journeys out there struggling with disorders and addictions, but they don't have the resources she has to get the help they need. So happy she’s telling it how it is and being raw and open to everyone
Like the last ten times...
Omg this poor girl. I will watch her documentary.
She was lucky. God knew she had a purpose to send a message from her experience. Kudos Demi it takes so much to be able to share the darkness. I pray everyone who uses can one day find sobriety or chose to get help to obtain a healthy life .
DEMI YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND GORGEOUS. I LOVE YOUR MUSIC. DONT THROW YOUR LIFE AWAY. LIFE IS PRECIOUS AND FRAGILE.
Omg JESUS This Poor Girl Wow!!!! Drugs are EVIL!!!!!! PRAYERS
Everyone has their own personal devil we’re battling...may God bless you and keep you ❤️❤️
Hopefully she will be able get back to doing what she is good at and it's great she is willing to speak about her dark times and mental health and addictions
She genuinely looks 40, that's what drugs to you! She sounds surprised that she's had a heart attack
WOW 😭so proud Demi!!!
My Dad had 3 strokes...he survived. Walked and talked again. After 7 years he passed away 2 days after Christmas of 2010 due to heart attack.
U know being a star and have those health issues it's so hard for them ... Hope she opens up about it and feel that people do love her and she is an idol an inspiration to someone else life .. love you @Demi Lovato this world that u are in is not as our world ordinary people ,,,be strong and encourage your self that u are strong tough and nothing else can put u down....💪💪
I wish everyone would stop having input when you don’t know the first damn thing about addiction!!! Unless YOU YOURSELF have been there then you have no place to talk!!! I don’t care if anyone you know.. your family or whatever YOU need to have gone thru it!!!
Getting clean includes relapses!! That might seem like a set back or that she isn’t taking sobriety seriously but it IS part of getting clean!! Also addiction isn’t as black and white as all you ppl think it is! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I'm so watching this
Omg♥️ happy she ok now 🥺🥺
Addiction is so sad. As a social worker in a nursing home, there are too many people that end up on vents for the rest of their life because of over doses. The youngest I've seen so far is 18! Just a baby! Didn't even get to live her life. I absolutely hate hearing these stories because it breaks my heart. Demi is soooo incredibly lucky. I really hope she realizes that. ❤❤❤
To be honest, as an ex fan of hers, I’m tired of listening to the same things over and over again. Stay strong documentary, simply complicated and now this. People want her to get better but what’s the point if she keeps sabotaging and repeating the same cycle all over again?
Yeah I don’t even feel bad anymore lol
She was under a manipulative, abusive management and surrounded by toxic people... they were exploiting her for their own selfish gain. Also you must not understand what addiction is like bc it’s a daily struggle. It IS a cycle... relapses are bound to happen.
@@caroljennings3760 right!!
if u don't like it, then don't watch. this is for her fans not u. MOVE
Same thing over and over again? She overdosed ONE TIME! Why can't she finally spill the details no one knows yet to the world? Her overdose was all over the news. Is she not allowed to speak her truth after 3 years of being silent? What is wrong with you?!?
I hope she doesn't need to do another documentary. I have watched all 3. Thought she was doing better after the first, then the 2nd revealed that she wasn't sober when did she did that despite saying she was and now she is addressing her overdose. I truely feel for her and hope that she doesn't have any more major struggles with her soberity or mental health. I truely hope this is the last time she does a documentary about getting sober and everything that lead up to her relapse. ❤
Wow I didn’t know she had 3 already I thought she just had the one from 2017. Yea she gotta get it together. I know it’s hard but she need to think about her life like how many ods are you gonna have. The last Better he a wake up call cuz she could of died.
@@mixce8975 this will be her 3rd sorry. Her first was Stay Strong in 2012 about her eating disorder the Simply Complicated in 2017.
@@LucyLive91 ohhh ok. I respect her for talking about her mental health (as a person who struggles with it) and her struggles but I also feel like that’s all she talks about. Like that’s all we hear from her either in her music or documentaries or in the news whatever. But rn I really just wanna gear something different from Demi. Cause it really gets depressing hearing the same stuff over n over by her.
@@mixce8975 Definately. She has had an amaxong career considering her issues and there is nothing with speaking out about mental health but it is getting a bit monotonous with her. She has her struggles, gets better, releases music, releases a documentary and rinse and repeat everytime she has her struggles.
The reason that her last 2 documentaries weren’t completely honest was bc she was under a really abusive and toxic management that was exploiting her to profit off her trauma.
I hope she can stay clean and healthy!!
Awhhhh poor sis . I’ve always liked her & her voice 🖤
