Some people have much severe cases to where they do actually NEED outside help. That’s what she pays a lot of these people for, her team. To help. They want her to be sober so they can keep making money but don’t want to give her proper support.
I love how she says "you take the responsibility". Kids and adults have the trouble. Once you accept the fact you have a problem..then comes the understanding of how to fix the problem.

She is such an inspiration honestly. She takes full responsibility to what she did to herself. That takes so much and i believe only a handful of people are strong enough to do that. Sure other factors played part in it, but taking the full responsibility also means that she can now hopefully have peace with herself. And she is so so soo strong for talking about this on a big platform because im sure its super hard to talk about this (and while staying strong). A lot of people dont understand how hard it is to rehabilitate. People dont look at what plays behind the decisions that others make. How she worded it was so well thought out and im happy for her for inspiring people who are going through the same
its hard to rehabilitate but its harder not to. cause the pain is there and if you dont deal with it you have to keep fighting it. you may as well face it and deal with it. and have a happier life. its liberating to deal with our demons its alot worse not to. though it takes a lot of courage, it ultimately pays off cuz all of us have demons we need to confront with or it swallow us up. so swim or sink. you choose.
Lewey The Frog Yea, it kind of sounded like that to me, too, and I’m not trying to be a brat. I e battled addictions too, but that didn’t seem like full responsibility to me
Out of all the public speaking she has done about the issues she has dealt with.. this honestly seems the most genuine she has ever been. She truly looks happy and in a great place mentally and physically. Everything she says seems so honest. When she said “you don’t need anyone or anything to make you happy” I felt that For real this time. Good for her!!
I feel for her. With her eating disorder on Disney, and being forced to be around her ex due to a tour contract. I would definitely use lipo if I had the money. At least I would be confident and not feel much pressure. But now she learned to love herself how she is, we STAN a strong Queen!!!
I'm 51 and my heart goes out to anyone in recovery but especially to people in the spotlight. Recovery is a long and difficult journey for some and to have to do it under the glaring spotlight of Fame where perfect strangers think they have a right to know more about a person than their body of work is grueling. Thank you Demi for your experience, strength and hope.
S Kael That team was selfish for their response to her cry for help. She asked for help, and their response was “it’s selfish of you to drink because it hurts us.” While that might be true, it shows how they care much more for their own wellbeing than they do for hers and is also not helpful to her in any way. She was asking for assistance, and they didn’t give her any.
@@skael1258 they didn't call her selfish for her drinking, but for her eating, which is body shaming & cruel.. This girl was suffering & they only thought of their pockets..!

What I love about Demi is that she never pretended to be someone else. She always openeded up about her emotional problems and addictions. She knows that being so transparent about these problems takes away a lot of people, the judges of good morals, for example. But even so, she continued to be faithful to the person she is, and to the problems that she has. I'm happy to see her well after all she been through. You go, Demi!!!!

I really love how Demi is so relatable even as a person who’s constantly in the spotlight. She emphasizes the importance of self love and self care in maintaining your mental health! When she was talking about her relapse, she didn’t sugarcoat it or give some scripted response. Talking about addiction, especially the feelings involved with it, is still considered a bit of a taboo subject, and I think the way she addressed this issue took a LOT of courage.
Bless, Demi. Bless her for being so raw and honest about the overwhelming feeling of being human. For her to speak to millions and millions about some of the most tragic things that came from her feelings and emotions is a powerful, powerful thing. My son reached out to some of his friends when he was 17 and going through depression, and everyone told him that he was the only one who felt that way... they felt great. It only intensified his feeling that something was wrong with him. Thank you for your bravery, Demi. You admit that life is about stumbling, falling, and then how you live after the fall. You will save lives.
Thank you demi, I'm not battling addiction but I'm battling mental abuse and I'm trying my best to overcome and focus on myself. Thank you for the encouragement. You are a strong woman!

her manager who, upon hearing Demi relapsing on her bulimia because of a break-up said 'you're not the only one wh's going through a break-up' on a CAMERA. Her sober coach who should never work as a sober coach in the first place (I mean he laughed at a homeless man who, most likely, struggled with alcoholism). Yeah, those people. I'm so glad Demi opened up about her struggles, it proves to others that your not alone whatever your going though because shes been through struggling. We are all so proud of demi. Stay Strong To All!💕
Amazing. Demi’s honesty is truly beautiful. I found myself being really honest this evening to a group of students I know in the group singing class that I take. I mentioned my sobriety and that I’m 7 years sober but last week I just couldn’t attend. My depression was at a low and I HAD to go to a meeting. They were all so respectful and some were shocked. I’m pleased that I opened up to them. They know I’m here for them now if they or a loved one of theirs needs to ever talk. I wish that talking about recovery, sobriety, addiction and alcoholism weren’t still an awkward topic for some. There are a huge amount of incredibly talented famous people out there who are in recovery, I wish some of them would open up more to talk about their own stories but I respect their decisions to keep it personal. The more we talk the better the understanding and the less of a stigma and shame. Also, if we were to talk more then we might, just might still have Whitney, George, Michael, Prince..I could go on. Thank you Demi...you’re a beacon of hope for us all.

How she worded it was so well thought out and im happy for her for inspiring people who are going through the same
Well obviously who else is she gonna blame
Gabe Jones-Lang Some people blame anyone but themselves because it’s easier than admitting it.
its hard to rehabilitate but its harder not to. cause the pain is there and if you dont deal with it you have to keep fighting it. you may as well face it and deal with it. and have a happier life. its liberating to deal with our demons its alot worse not to. though it takes a lot of courage, it ultimately pays off cuz all of us have demons we need to confront with or it swallow us up. so swim or sink. you choose.
Aimee Grice It kinda sounded like she was blaming her team for not helping her and the unhelpful comments they made.
Lewey The Frog
Yea, it kind of sounded like that to me, too, and I’m not trying to be a brat.
I wish Mac Miller can be on here talking about the same thing , r.i.p
Kingbear24 wow that hurt

Kingbear24 she’s not dead
Wow ! :( that one hit hard
SDT PokemonGo can you read?
Omg the moment when she says "you at home" 3:18! Really felt like she's talking to me
I feel for her.
Thank you so much for the support you give for recovery. Alot of people don't understand addiction is real
I’m so glad that she’s not with her previous selfish team
Dickxya Rai seems like a toxic team honestly.
That team was NOT selfish for telling her drinking would be selfish of her.
Joseph Sherby right!
@@skael1258 they didn't call her selfish for her drinking, but for her eating, which is body shaming & cruel.. This girl was suffering & they only thought of their pockets..!
Ellen seems so genuinely happy to see Demi happy and I’m hereeee for it
Demi Lovato is such a class act and she’s so brave to put all those struggles out there to the world!!! She will do great things!!
Especially after her “ex” sexually assaulted her and Disney did nothing about it
I feel like anytime a celebrity wants to get candid or honest they go on Ellen. Ellen is a wonderful listener. I could never imagine Demi or anyone doing this on Jimmy Fallon
Lulu Harshie
Very true
Well I mean, Ellen is a talk show and Jimmy Fallon is a comedy show so...
Well, of course not. Ellen's is a daytime show. Jimmy's is a late night show. They serve different audiences and different purposes.
Love how she went from ‘tell me you love me’ to i love me’.

Sobriety is so hard. So much harder than people without addiction could ever imagine.
Yes it is. The key is to never get addicted in the first place. They teach you that in school, they talk about it all the time.... but you people dont listen.
For real
@@LL-wu5ui ok, Miss Self Righteous. I guess you're perfect and have never tried a drink, drug, or smoke in your entire life. * eye roll *
@@user-fb4sb1zi8g well, i back lea's words and i know for sure i never "tried a drink, drug, or smoke in my entire life". and into my 2nd year at med school.
a weak mentality leads to addiction, since such people couldn't handle the world as it is but rather ran away from it.
@@3b0d1999 you went to med school and don't believe addiction is real? It's just "running away from life." You need a refund for your education.
I’m so proud of her for having the guts to address this. I can’t imagine how many people she inspires and helps just by sharing her story and being transparent about her struggles.
Love the way she’s carrying herself, she’s matured a lot since her Disney days
We’ve all grown up with this girl. Her smile has always been so grand and beautiful. I’m so glad she’s here to speak her story; it’s inspiring really; I hope to one day follow in her footsteps of solid sobriety. ♥️
Nothing to add I haven't met yall. Is there a meeting soon. Thanks for everything,.!
She's got the most beautiful smile and laugh I've always thought so 💕

@@crystalrainnwalton oh either way She is beautiful face and seems to have a good heart inside.

She has always been someone I looked up to but she’s also a real person. I was so sad when she relapsed but she seems to be surrounded by better people and it seems she has a better head space. I’m always rooting the best for her.
Sometimes when I hear her talk about this stuff I think about her on sonny with a chance and it breaks my heart:(

I love and respect this woman so much! She is so strong.
I’m almost 7 months sober! Demi is such an inspiration.
Good for you.
Yay! You got this girl. Stay strong. With Love.
Good for you. I’m proud, stay strong with everything.
Congratulations! That is wonderful!
YESSSSS
What I love about Demi is that she never pretended to be someone else. She always openeded up about her emotional problems and addictions. She knows that being so transparent about these problems takes away a lot of people, the judges of good morals, for example. But even so, she continued to be faithful to the person she is, and to the problems that she has. I'm happy to see her well after all she been through. You go, Demi!!!!
You’re right she’s so real and honest and I think a lot of young women and men can look to her inspirational
Wait, her “team” of paid professionals to help and assist a famous pop stars were asked for help and said she was being selfish?
Yes. That is heartbreaking to hear.
They said that drinking and breaking her sobriety would be selfish.
Believe all woman
@@orangexylem I mean...it is in a lot of ways. But clearly a "team" that you're paying is outta wack if they're even having that conversation honestly.
U don't know all of the story. U werent there. U have absolutely no idea of what they have done, or what Demi has done. U are just being here judging people in a "team" that u dont even know what they look like just by one sentence that Demi said. Who are u to judge? Shut your mouth and think about it.
As a recovering alcoholic/addict and a HUGE Demi fan, she constantly amazes me. Her music has been there for me my entire life and she has saved me and inspired me countless times. Addicts aren’t junkies and sobriety isn’t easy. Own it and grow through what you go through. Share your hope, experience, and strength and help the next suffering alcoholic/addict. Be kind and love others, but most importantly love yourself. “You’re a 10 out of 10!” Thank you @demilovato for my tears of joy again and for sharing your story.
God Bless her On her success as a recovering addict
Addiction runs in her family. Didn’t know. That explains a lot.

When she said “you are a 10/10” i just able bawled. I really hope she always feels this way. She’s so strong.
I love Demi so much. She deserves all the happiness in her life. She’s such a strong woman after all the struggles she’s been through!!💗💗
She is the only artist that whenever I listen to her story or songs I get emotional. 💜
“You are a 10 out of 10” proud of you!
I AM PROUD OF ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO HAS STRUGGLED WITH ANY ADDICTION! YOU CAN DO IT AND I BELIEVE IN YOU! YOU ARE WORTH IT!
Thank you I have struggled with depression anxiety and self harm
Thank you demi, I'm not battling addiction but I'm battling mental abuse and I'm trying my best to overcome and focus on myself. Thank you for the encouragement. You are a strong woman!
Every word she said was so extremely important.
Her telling Ellen the reason it happened made me tear up. Glad she’s back and healthy again.

Who the hell in her "team" had the audacity to tell her she's selfish for seeking help!??! She needs a new team
she has a new team now, and a really good one
They meant it would be selfish of her to go back out drinking
That's like what happened to Avicii, you should watch his netflix documentary.
her manager who, upon hearing Demi relapsing on her bulimia because of a break-up said 'you're not the only one wh's going through a break-up' on a CAMERA. Her sober coach who should never work as a sober coach in the first place (I mean he laughed at a homeless man who, most likely, struggled with alcoholism). Yeah, those people. Oh, plus they made her feel like she owes them because they were her "saviors"...

Demi has such a kind soul. I love how shes open about her experiences to help those that are going and everyone that might go through this. She deserves the world!
