- Episode three of Demi Lovato’s four-part docu-series, ‘Dancing With the Devil,’ dropped Tuesday on UA-cam. The 28-year-old singer reveals she relapsed on heroin following her 2018 overdose.

You know I don't think anyone realizes that its a constant battle being an addict. Its a lifelong struggle really. There are always going to be moments where you think you are going to relapse and it takes strength to overcome that feeling.
She needs to move away from Hollywood.🙏
I've done this. It's just PTSD. You put yourself in the same position of trauma thinking you have the power to undo and fix everything that hurt you. It just cuts deeper. I feel for her so much.
Instead of "her people" sticking a microphone and cameras in her face, she should be in a therapist office. She's far too young to have all of this "drama" surrounding her!! Years from now, this "drama" will be revisited and realized that she needs help, not more publicity.
Lovato's celebrity status is what's making them money. If she's not in front of the cameras, they don't make any money. "There's no such thing as bad publicity", in fact bad publicity is probably better than good publicity. If Lovato were completely recovered, healthy and well adjusted people wouldn't find her as interesting. "Her people" know this and are exploiting it.
“People places and things” she needs to MOVE out of la and lose contact with anyone from that circle. She’s going to fall back at some point.
She's so strong but so weak at the same time.
She's built her wall up so high it's a struggle for people to truly be let in.

U can’t be “California sober” and be sober. Ur either sober or ur not. There is no moderation when it comes to addictions. That is an excuse to still do what u wanna do but slap a label on it(a.k.a California sober) and say ur ok. Not trying to sound mean but If almost dying doesn’t wake u up, death will, but then it will be too late.
@ Marlena Stratton, I absolutely agree with your statement. There is no such thing as “California Sober”... You either are sober or you’re not. When we chose to get into something it’s self inflicted. I have never smoked, drink alcohol nor tried any type of illegal drugs (unless I have had a short term doctors prescription for a cough) and that has been my choice. I don’t judge people for what they chose to do or use, just don’t create pity on yourself for your own choices. I don’t want to offend anyone. It’s just my humble opinion.
@@Diana-jc6pq You are absolutely wrong. Firstly, if you have never tried anything, or had any kind of addiction/impulse to substances, this is not your place to be commenting. Secondly, you wouldn’t understand being someone who has only felt one way their entire life. Once you cross a threshold into hard substances, mixed with the millions of things that triggered her issues, less-hard “drugs” like marijuana, a PLANT, can help you into a normal life style where you can enjoy things and not be craving hard drugs. I guarantee you she can live the rest of her life “California Sober” and be just fine.
@@swishkid99 You are absolutely right! However, WE make the choice of crossing that threshold in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t judge anyone for their choices but OUR choices have consequences. I guess I have been a woman who has taken accountability for her choices. It’s like we chose to jump off a bridge willingly, then we cause pity telling others how the consequences were death, a wheel chair, living on pain medication for life, etc. I am just giving my honest opinion based on my knowledge, experiences and choices. I’m not offending anyone or at least it’s definitely not my intentions.
I do agree California sober will not do her justice but she knows her limits and she can make that call but I agree its either you stop or you go full speed ahead you don't need a fluff because that may cause you to trip up. I am 2 years sober after 10 years of using heroin. After getting clean both my mom and my sister died of drug overdoses. My advice is if you feel like your loved one needs help--help them. A month before my mom died I was set to get her 51 50 in a hospital because she was using in an abcess in her arm that she almost died from TWICE by not letting it heal. I felt guilty for what i was about to do to her and I hesitated. That hesitation cost me her life. Listen to your gut. You dont want to hear that knock in the morning..

People need to be educated about addiction. It's a disease that is swept under the rug which has created wayyy too much ignorance in society along with many other issues.
Wow! Her story is so incredibly sad. This is a woman who’s so beautiful inside and out but has lots demons that she is fighting day by day due to substance. It’s unbelievable the fact that she is still standing after everything she went through. I don’t know how it feels because I never tried any substance nor have I ever been raped, but I admire her strength and awareness to make a difference in those who may be going through the same path.

Exactly until your in that position in life, you don't know what Anyone goes through. You can judge her and say she's a bad person with a horrible habit but until your in that position which I hope no one ever has to go there.... Guarantee you will understand what she has to say bc it's not easy to admit anything until you're close to death and your whole outlook will be different from there here on out. For her to come out fighting to do what's right,is already halfway there including getting help immediately. Credit is given where it is due.....I pray she stays on the recovery path from here on in

I'd like to remain optimistic for her but unfortunately if we look at her track record I don't think she's going to stop the cycle. That's just my honest opinion.

In addition to this revelation, she also announced today that she’s pan sexual. I understand it’s important to bring awareness to addiction issues, but all I hear about when her name comes up are her problems and not her music. I would think that an artist would want to be talked about for the work they produce, but her PR machine seems to want to promote her as being a mess. It’s very off-putting.

Well yeah, people who do drugs have serious issues, that they need help with but unfortunately a lot don’t get the help they need and turn to substance abuse instead. Drug dealers however take advantage of those people with addiction issues.

In a way it is, she knows that was the wrong thing to do now and said that in the episode that, calling him back didn’t give her any power.
You’d be surprised how a lot of sexual assault victims react that way. I think it sheds light on it to be honest. She even said it didn’t make her feel any better trying to take back the control.

Yeah just another person commenting on something that they haven't experienced first hand to understand the brain pattern leading to these behaviors. There just is not enough education out there about addiction and sexual trauma domestic abuse etc.

Demi Lovato makes me sick. I'm in recovery from heroin myself and she makes a mockery of the sober community. She said she's California sober, makes jokes about drugs, and doesn't take any of it seriously.

@@OscarMPG1 because she is a victim of substance abuse, and yes it was 100% her choice but it wasn't her choice of getting addicted. Not every drug addict who is going sober doesn't always have a one chip wonder, they relapse because of all of that build up in their body and they mentally/emotionally/physically need the drug to get that high one more time.
