And at least they got some exhaust though them, a lot of the fake tips from today are not even close to the real exhaust (and would melt away if they were used)
I was just thinking, is it really necessary to say "Number X quirkiest quirk" at the top of every segment like people are going to forget what the list is about? You can just say "number X" but he just like saying the word.
The rivian electric delivery van's automatic door opening is maybe not much of a time saver as it is a repetitive motion saver. Over time it will help save many thousands of repetitive motion movements for the driver saving their arm and shoulder joints. Great idea!
The best part about the Monza SP1 is that for some reason the SP2 also exists despite both having all the interior and dash in them. They could have made 1 model and just included both a passenger seat and the cover, to be swapped around as required, but no, they made two distinct models that are actually the same.
One very funny quirk I love is the one on the Hummer Ev. The animations made by game developers really make the vehicle stand out. Merry Christmas Doug.
they definitely add rigidity too, though doors obviously won't be as stiff as something that doesn't move. but for something with no roof, it helps a lot
@@benjaminrobinson3842 I remember the first time i got into a ww2 jeep, and I took a hard right and almost went flying off. Flat seats, no seatbelt, and no doors, better hold on!
The Muira's "exhaust that isn't connected" is actually *VERY* common on modern cars. Fake exhaust tips that are solely for cosmetic purposes that aren't connected to anything but the bumper have been getting more and more common. I am absolutely shocked to find out that Lamborghini might have been the first to ever do it though.
And there's nothing wrong with it emissions-wise as he believes. They're just cosmetic as you said. They don't reduce the sound, it's not a cat etc, doesn't serve any function. Also how can he not know that those Smart car "doors" are for crash protection/safety.
Merry Christmas, Doug! I've been watching you for years and so it's so great to see your channel and Cars & Bids become such a huge success. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next year!
04:30 I saw that teal green in person a few weeks back. The teal really pops and I could tell right away this was the color from Daddy-Doug's video. Couldn't make out if it was the orange interior - probably wasn't.
Another reason the Miura was ahead of its time. And how did they know at the time that Audi, the biggest lover of exhaust-ish trim, would eventually buy Lamborghini??
The Volvo S60R enthusiasts love the Flash Green/Atacama color combo. Definitely sought after and can double the value of the car just for that color combo
4:58 I know FedEx usually drives around with their door open but our UPS trucks have a door like this as well. After you put the car into park then press the stop button, you can press the stop button again to pop the door. We call it the bulkhead door. Every second you can shave off a stop adds up over the course of a day especially when you do 100-250 stops per day.
I got a stomach bug yesterday, I'm very sick, I'm vomiting with a lot of diarrhea since yesterday. I'm isolating myself on a Christmas Day, but having fun with Doug's video.
I would say Doug is the quirkiest feature of the year. As according to Doug some cars with an feature can be outright crazy while in other cars it is an luxury. For example the 93 Ramcharger was according to Doug very bizzarre as it had an coolerbox between the front seats, while the 2022 Range Rover had also a coolerbox but in this case it was an extreme luxury. I guess cool Range Rover beers are just a bit more upper class. 😁

While it did not unlock doors or allow you to start the car my 2020 Subaru Legacy had facial recognition. Like other cars it had buttons to remember seat and mirror settings but you did not need to use it. If you programmed your face in the system it would recognize you and move the seat and side mirrors to your settings. It was pretty cool.
Doug made this quirky video about top 15 quirks extra quirky by making it the top 16 quirkiest quirks of all the quirks of 2022 (a quirky year in itself). King of quirks!
I think the Smart Crossblade was intended for people that want the functionality of a motor scooter, but with comfortable seating for two, safer and a little more room for luggage.
Rear view mirror- I’ve seen a dentist’s mirror (size of a quarter) mounted to a motorcycle to satisfy the mirror requirement. The Harley Davidson Sportster in at least one year came with the mirrors mounted BELOW the handgrips. Looks cool, can only see your elbows. But legal.
I remember seeing a mustang with the flip flop paint on a open track day at Limerock. It was cool to see the car change colors as it went down the track.
merry Christmas Doug can't wait to watch your car reviews next year and seeing which cars that you will be driving throughout next year hopefully some very cool and very exiting and very fast
Doug, you would probably make the list of quirkiest you-tubers, at least I'd vote for you - and I mean that only in a positive way. I put on any of your videos and I can't help but watch it all the way through, like I did probably 4 years ago myself. Happy Holidays, wish you the best in 2023.
I think the quirkiest quirk of the Amazon van is the fact that its modularly segmented. I know its not something just anyone can just do as a "feature" but it still would be much easier than most other vans like it just due to the engineering modularity of it.
Merry Christmas Doug and Doug viewers.

It's almost as good as not having a door there in the first place!
@@benjaminrobinson3842 you need the door in case of an accident so the boxes aren't hitting the driver.
I think it's more of a door closing system because otherwise the driver would probably just leave it open.

Man 120 cars!!! That's crazy. Thanks for all your hard work Doug
13:35 The doors do have a purpose, as armrests.
Also to hold the mirrors
I would have supposed side intrusion bars
Probably also as a safeguard against an unbelted passenger falling out during cornering.

I can't be alone in really liking the teal over orange?
It's a little two contrast-y to me, but I love the teal color itself. I'd just pair it with something more subdued, like tan or dark grey.
