@@taylor11111 Assuming your being sarcastic and stating that what I said was a joke. Do me a huge favor, never speak about historical topics because you clearly don’t have the gravitas to do so. You seem like the kind of person to apply modem day philosophy and morality to people who died hundreds of years ago. You seem like the kind of person to stan for communists like Stalin and Mao, but then talk about how trump is an evil Nazi. Grow the fuck up. History is not there to confirm your biases. Those were REAL men, with FAMILIES, with FRIENDS, who have MOTHERS and FATHERS, maybe even children of their own. Yet you brush them all over with the same brush because of your lack of knowledge on the topic, because you eat up the common modern sentiment, and refuse to acknowledge the reality of what war is. Bitter old men who send the young and naive to die. Don’t blame the solider, blame the politician that made him fight.
Is it sad that I unironically kinda like the vampire lore/rules in these movies? For example, the idea that children are banned from becoming vampires because they lack the selfcontrol to not eat every human it sees, it's simple yet interesting. I hate the movies themselves, but kinda like the ideas that they have in place for the vampires.
As a twilight fan for so many years, the fact that the vampire lore got pushed back because of romance always irked me after i moved on from the tween idea of "Oh how romantic ect" the Volturi and the history about the werewolfs and vampires is so fascinating!! Its sad that it never got explored better as it deserved, also, the fact that other franchises, actors, ect from other shows mocked twilight and its plot makes me think of how dumb the fact that those other "vampire shows" lack depth and rules, like in the originals, the baby was a tribrid, a witch, werewolf, vampire... like, how does that even work?? the genes must be such a convoluted cesspool of surreality, how can the kid control the magic? (I know the kid doesn't activate her werewolf curse until she's older nor her vampire side) *which is such a stupid scape goat excuse* but they mocked the fact that twilight vampires lived with rules that kept them safe, they had a smart way of living, and the fact that it was not aceptable to change kids makes me think the twilight universe had more brains than tvd or any other show around that time. Without adding the fact that the twilight vampires are practically indestructible and truly frightening with their powers.

I appreciate that you didn’t just knock these off as “eww bad teen girl movie” and seemed to actually analyze it for what it is: a teen vampire movie in 2008. It’s not supposed to be revolutionary, it’s fun
Not only is the last one mostly planning, it’s planning for one fight scene that is actually just a vision. And that battle sequence doesn’t even happen in the books. It’s real bad.
So apparently the first twilight had a very small budget. To compensate for the lack of set design/wardrobe/ higher quality filmmaking stuff they used a blue tint (kinda like the first two seasons of Rupaul's dragrace). Also they totally didn't think the movie would do too well, but definitely didn't think it would be the start of a successful franchise, so everyone in it played up the goofiness and campiness of vampires spending a hundred years redoing highschool in small suburban towns. After it was a hit though alot of the cast (particularly Robert Pattinson) were pretty displeased with working on them, especially as studios wanted to make them more "serious" ultimately taking the fun out of twilight, which is really the main thing it had going for it. That's my theory as to why everyone after the first one looks so sad and mad all the time. In the first one they look weird, and kind of constipated, but that's just kind of how its written, in the second, third, and fourth one they literally look like their reading the scripts to other movies. Except for Jasper who seems to be the main cast member to really embrace twilight and openly state what a great time he had and how much he loved working on it, etc. In the last film the vampires are noticeably smiling and laughing at everything, kind of for no reason, but I think it's because they were excited to wrap up the four year process of making a story none of them were fans of. Also I always thought the third book was the worst as the the first movie had already been out, meaning Stephanie Meyers (the author) knew the rest of the series would become movies too. So she tried alot of backstory and attempts at witty dialogue and action but she never really succeeded. All of the films however are pretty good examples of good book to movie adaptions. They stick to the main story really well, character depictions are accurate to the book, unnecessary side plots or details are usually left out (like Angela and Bellas job at a sporting goods store), and actual dialog is sometimes said strate from the book, it's just the dialog was never that good to begin with. My problem was always that their were such interesting characters and the story at its core, somewhat exiled vampires existing amongst humans, is interesting enough. It's just gone about in the mst mundane and PG-13, 2008 way ever. With two people much older than teenagers constantly staring at each other whilst making bad decisions. I missed the actual twilight "hype" of the early 2010s but getting into it afterwards is hilarious just because of all the people that either get embarrassed or weirdly defensive when I bring up the countless plot holes or weird moments. Like how come human blood is so irresistible but the topic of menstruation is never brought up until pregnancy, or how Bella literally sees and hears hallucinations of her ex boyfriend and her first thought is "I should try and hurt myself to see if that happens again." But when you just sit back, laugh it off and except it as what it is, Twilight can be pretty fun.
The first one was the best because it was the most "indie" of the saga, it got cringey and annoying when they started to become large scale blockbusters (and I agree with you I miss the blue color palette so much it did a lot to add to the atmosphere and "vibe")
I dont know why there was a team Edward vs team Jacob thing going on when Bella clearly wanted Edward throughout the whole series. I completely expected Bella trying to choose between the 2, but no. It was always Edward.
My favorite one is New Moon because of the 2009 MTV vibes it radiates, I remember how they hyped the shit out of it and played the videos from the songs that were in the movie and I finished liking it because of that.
Honestly this is why I was so disappointed when the first director didn’t come back for the future films bc you truly notice a difference in tone and campiness The first one just hits different 😂😂 it’s so extra I love it
The Amanda cameo was a welcome surprise, none of the Twilight films are great but I have a fondness for them anyway and I've loved seeing both Rob and Kristen's careers take off. Quality content kurstboy.
Amanda’s part of the video sounded like my physics teacher trying to explain to me how something that doesn’t matter at all works and how you make an equation out of it
When you talked about the directors changing I started going into my rant about why Catherine Hardwicke should have been the director of the whole series to empty air. Maybe someday someone will listen to it, because I have FEELINGS.

my local movie theater had like 5 rooms and on opening night for the last breaking dawn pt2 all of the tickets were sold out to the point where ppl sat on each others laps and on the stairs (im p sure they oversold them) during the fight scene ppl were literally yelling like they were watching a boxing match, jumping in their seats, grown men and teenage girls LITERALLY crying it was insane, keep in mind that this happened in Angola, a country in Africa where English isn't spoken at all and the subtitles were barely working on the screen for some reason so ppl had no idea what was being said half the time. just absolute madness, never experienced anything like it. say what you want about it but twilight pulled numbers only Kpop stuff is capable of nowadays
*1st movie:* The new Room *2nd movie:* Snorefest *3rd movie:* David Lynch-esque *4th movie:* Problematic? *5th movie:* The greatest movie ever made since Plan 9 From Outer Space
The only thing I've ever seen of Twilight in my whole life, is one scene I saw on a Bus when I was a kid, it was just Kristen Stewart falling of a Motorcycle, and it was so random, and very hilarious.
i watched these for the first time with my friend last year and we totally missed Eclipse but the story still made sense at Breaking dawn 1 so we didnt even realise we missed a whole film

I completely expected Bella trying to choose between the 2, but no. It was always Edward.
My favorite one is New Moon because of the 2009 MTV vibes it radiates, I remember how they hyped the shit out of it and played the videos from the songs that were in the movie and I finished liking it because of that.
Honestly this is why I was so disappointed when the first director didn’t come back for the future films bc you truly notice a difference in tone and campiness
The first one just hits different 😂😂 it’s so extra I love it
Karsten: "I'm really getting into motion graphics."
Motion graphics: 17:02
THE BIG JOEL IMPRESSION WAS SO GOOD WHAT
this is exactly what i needed from you.
“when the shapeshifter imprints it finds their soulmate” NO WHAT NO NO NOOOO
This was TOO MUCH FUN. loved Karsten gayshiping. loved that Amanda was in this. oh god I wish I was there seeing all of his reaction
The Big Joel impression was unironically amazing.
The Amanda cameo was a welcome surprise, none of the Twilight films are great but I have a fondness for them anyway and I've loved seeing both Rob and Kristen's careers take off.
Quality content kurstboy.
2:40 "First of all james is a hilarious name for a villain"
james moriarty: am I a joke to you?
Why do you think he goes by "Moriarty" most of the time lmao
14:43 i had to rewind FIVE TIMES and turn subtitles on to make sure i heard that correctly.
and i %100 agree
I think the most disturbing part of this franchise is that basically Bella made out with her son in law.
"This is weird, right?" Had to pause and just giggle to myself after that little Big Joel chestnut
“Jimmy Neutron bloodstream” KILLED me 😂😂
Amanda’s part of the video sounded like my physics teacher trying to explain to me how something that doesn’t matter at all works and how you make an equation out of it
When you talked about the directors changing I started going into my rant about why Catherine Hardwicke should have been the director of the whole series to empty air. Maybe someday someone will listen to it, because I have FEELINGS.
that Big Joel impression was actually kinda good 💀
The only good thing I remember about twilight is that the soundtrack was brilliant muse, paramore, linkin park, the killers and Radiohead are some of my favourite bands
i appreciate the bossa nova during the intermissions of the video
I have no idea who Big Joel is, and he sounded the exact same to me during the impression 😅
But I love hearing these takes! I like how earnestly you experienced the movies. Fun to watch you experience it!
The baseball scene lives rent free in my mind
“bella! where the hell have you been loca!!” 🙄😂
my local movie theater had like 5 rooms and on opening night for the last breaking dawn pt2 all of the tickets were sold out to the point where ppl sat on each others laps and on the stairs (im p sure they oversold them) during the fight scene ppl were literally yelling like they were watching a boxing match, jumping in their seats, grown men and teenage girls LITERALLY crying it was insane, keep in mind that this happened in Angola, a country in Africa where English isn't spoken at all and the subtitles were barely working on the screen for some reason so ppl had no idea what was being said half the time. just absolute madness, never experienced anything like it. say what you want about it but twilight pulled numbers only Kpop stuff is capable of nowadays
The Big Joel impression was scary good ngl
*1st movie:* The new Room
*2nd movie:* Snorefest
*3rd movie:* David Lynch-esque
*4th movie:* Problematic?
*5th movie:* The greatest movie ever made since Plan 9 From Outer Space
i’m telling you i was not impressed until the radiohead needle drop and then i binged the other three movies immediately
1:42 Never expected a burp like that from Karsten Runquist
Robert Pattinson is about to be batman. Sure hope he doesn't disappoint.
i am very passionate about how i think karsten should make a “what should’ve happened in the twilight movies” video
“you have amazing abs. you have *great* shoulders. you can do better” yes karsten, go off
The only thing I've ever seen of Twilight in my whole life, is one scene I saw on a Bus when I was a kid, it was just Kristen Stewart falling of a Motorcycle, and it was so random, and very hilarious.
I wish I could relive the first time I saw that last scene with 15 step playing at the credits
Watching Karsten's face go from glee to despair during Breaking Dawn Pt 1 was my personal favourite part of this video
It's nice to see a review of twilight that isn't hyperbolicly angry and a dash of bi sexual energy.
I am so confused by the fact that THE CGI BABY IS NEVER MENTIONNED?!?!?!
i watched these for the first time with my friend last year and we totally missed Eclipse but the story still made sense at Breaking dawn 1 so we didnt even realise we missed a whole film
Dude, i commend you for devoting your whole time watching the Twilight films. I remember those because of my female classmates and a kids magazine talking whether they're Team Jacob and Team Edward.
First time watching your stuff. First thought was “discount Orlando Bloom” but it was a cool video
“it’s stupid, but I like it,” sums up how I feel abt Twilight tbh it’s like a comfort movie from my childhood that I’ll never let go 😗
