This series is basically showing again and again that in Yugioh, the really bad stuff is also the really cool stuff. I really appreciate the representation of all these iconic schoolyard cards that otherwise are always left in the dust.

@@Ubersupersloth not necessarily, you can finish the whole game only with THTD and equips ^^. MBD is nice, but as someone who speedrun the game, I can assure you, if you don't get MBD quickly, you just continue and try to finish THTD-style, or it can be a run killer (if your deck is not good enough for the end game). But I agree, MBD carries the end game :)
Also, with Joseph complaining that much about not ever being able to summon the boss monster of his deck, i think the folks on Twitter really should have forced him to play Gate Guardian in some capacity instead
This is my first time watching this series I thought the punishment wouldn’t be that bad it’s just a shirt right? But dang cimo looks ridiculous in that shirt still gotta love him though XD

Like, cimoo has spell trap negate, enemy controller and anti targeting + graveyard destruction without having to pay half of his lp and went through 10 cards kekw. It’s not like gage deck is consistent to begin with. Beside these decks can use dm staples which will shjt on gageh for obvious reason. If you apply extra deck cards to them they will get even better. Anyway I think it’s enough of bullying gageh now. Hope he win next set.
Suggestion: if you have a format with multiple jank-decks you should do a "jank tournament" where all the Decks compete in a bracket against each other to crown the "King of jank" of a certain era 🤴 Idea comes from me thinking that those decks actually look pretty good against each other so this could put things more into context
TBF on Stein in Goat it is very good but without cards like Cyber Twin in the fusion pool, it's much less of an auto-win card and that's such a liability in a format where you can just survive often enough to go into BLS and kill you
I gotta say you're putting out content like a goddamn MACHINE!! Which helps since I can't get enough of all these Yugioh Sagas. I really fell back into this scene after being absent for years, because these videos remind me of all the good times that were had in the back of the classroom or on the playground. The only disappointment for me in the deckbuilding was the lack of Frontline Base in XYZ to actually get all the pieces on board in one turn... theoretically,
19:43 in when you chain warlord Trap to E-con, what happens is your trap causes your Z tank to go to GY, even on DL, if you take control of a monster you have no space for, the target just goes to the GY as the effect has to resolve still so it limbos the target to GY. Just heads up as most don't know and yes DL has 100% same rulings as TCG.

This shows once again, that it doesn't matter how powerful the board could be (and that game 1 board was super broken for goat standards), but how consistent the deck is.
Never could make the deck in person, but Horus was my go-to deck in the old 2006 GBA game, so glad to see it get its due. I know it lost, but still the first game was a great showing of what the deck can do.
For a future jank episode, in Edison format, please play a MacroMill deck using Necroface, Gold Sarc, Soul Absorb (for ridiculous life-gain), and D.D. Dynamite (for otk).

GX to me is when YuGiOh really started rolling with the idea of archetypes, so hopefully we start seeing a lot of archetype matchups, like DHero v Ancient Gear, etc.

oh man, i used to play a deck that focuses on getting out Horus and Jinzo in the Tag Force games. it was incredibly bricky, it doesn't work, but man when it work it felt amazing
@@Angiooletto he does but that’s actually not illegal. Royal Decree doesn’t prevent trap cards from being activated. It just negates trap effects on the field which is different. This is what differentiates it from Jinzo which negates trap effects on the field AND also prevents trap cards from being activated. So technically, a player can just activate all their trap cards while Royal Decree is active, but they of course wouldn’t do anything.

Not an illegal action, but e-control still goes off under Rivarly. Enemy controller effects still work, but if the monster being taken is of a different type than monsters you already own it is immediately sent to the grave
These were like the 2 decks I wanted to make as a child. So happy to see them get played here but also a bit dissapointed in how the xyzs didnt get summoned
XYZ union cards where always a childhood favorite of mine. While they weren't competitive, I did love using them in school and beating everything with a 1800 Atk X-head cannon because at the time that was actually almost a instant win if you didn't have anything above that and using XYZ dragon cannon was also an instant win. I loved mixing them with Cyber Dragons in the PSP Tag Force 1 game because I could use future fusion and then overload fusion to summon Chimeratech Dragon with a HUGE ATK. Plus the deck was machine so most support cards work well with the XYZ cards.
These were actually some solid games. Its a shame we never got to see the XYZ monsters do anything at all but I suppose that’s MBT’s point bringing up the comparison to Speed Duels.

At locals I once went into Skill Drain + Tyrant's Temper + Horus LV8 (in a Hieratic Deck) so that my opponent's monster effects were negated, traps didn't affect my monsters and he had no spells to work with. I felt like my life was complete.
Horus is a genuinely really good deck, it doesn't belong here - if built right. And fun as heck, too! If anyone wants to try it out: Don't run the LV4 as it's unneeded, only one LV8 to unbrick it, only one Stein to unbrick it but run two or three Tomatoes to make it accessible, My Body to cover Horus's only real weakness (non-targeting monster effects), Creature Swap instead of Enemy Controller, only two Fusilier to unbrick it, two Decree are enough (you only need them for the lock), two Dustshoot because it's nigh mandatory in Goat (three is out of step with the deck's tempo and Decree), maybe cut one Goat, replace Tsuk with Tribe, run Breaker because it's good, run CotH and Prem for cheeky LV6 or Stein recursion, probably jam Upstart and maybe MoF, also one Ring or Mirror (but not both; Ring is quicker and more versatile, prefer that one). Goes way harder than you think it does, reaches LV8 shockingly often and quickly, and can default to basically playing Goat Control when LV8 isn't out. Have fun!

Horus LV8 looks like a silver version of The Winged Dragon Of Ra

The perfect showing for jank. Open the god hand to shut him out of the game on turn 3, and then lose to z-metal tank beats two games in a row.
XYZ-Dragon Cannon is so cool looking, and it’s absolutely devastating to learn that it’s just too hard to summon.
Not that it matters, but the Ojama Knight in Cimo’s Fusion Deck is not legal in Goat Format.

The final duel perfectly showed why BLS is ridiculously good and was banned for so long.

Horus level 8 was one of my favorite cards that i had as a kid : )
At locals I once went into Skill Drain + Tyrant's Temper + Horus LV8 (in a Hieratic Deck) so that my opponent's monster effects were negated, traps didn't affect my monsters and he had no spells to work with.
I felt like my life was complete.
Horus is a genuinely really good deck, it doesn't belong here - if built right. And fun as heck, too!
If anyone wants to try it out: Don't run the LV4 as it's unneeded, only one LV8 to unbrick it, only one Stein to unbrick it but run two or three Tomatoes to make it accessible, My Body to cover Horus's only real weakness (non-targeting monster effects), Creature Swap instead of Enemy Controller, only two Fusilier to unbrick it, two Decree are enough (you only need them for the lock), two Dustshoot because it's nigh mandatory in Goat (three is out of step with the deck's tempo and Decree), maybe cut one Goat, replace Tsuk with Tribe, run Breaker because it's good, run CotH and Prem for cheeky LV6 or Stein recursion, probably jam Upstart and maybe MoF, also one Ring or Mirror (but not both; Ring is quicker and more versatile, prefer that one).
Goes way harder than you think it does, reaches LV8 shockingly often and quickly, and can default to basically playing Goat Control when LV8 isn't out. Have fun!

Horus/Decree/Stein into Dragun actually works really well in a Reasoning Gate shell. Played that one a bit on DB rated and won a few matches.
