I know in Minnesota the minute your vehicle hits the ice you have no insurance, it's null and void. The recovery is not cheap and Minn DNR have hefty fines concerning this.
Very interesting, I always wondered how they got vehicles out of the water. I would have never thought that a tractor that size would be capable of pulling out something out that heavy. That's got to be one hell of an expensive tow.
So, the way to catch fish during winter in Wisconsin is to open the windows of your truck, drive onto the ice, let your truck sink in the river, pay a few thousand to have your truck hoisted out of the river, and then remove the fish from the passenger compartment -- right ?
Amazing how they retrieve vehicles out of the water. I wonder if driving out onto the ice is worth not only the cost of the extraction, but the additional repairs to the vehicle.
Is the frame work of that device all wood? I wonder though if it's prone to spread apart at the bottom with the weight. Weather warms up they could put a floor on it and have a party raft, have a ladder to go up top and dive.
Sheriff Dryden told us yesterday that it costs anywhere from 5-10K to pull it out. Not to mention all the pollution that is contaminating the lake the longer it sits! Not good. It affects all of us!
Everything about this looks dangerous, I'm sure it is. I've never ice fished, I have flew over WI, and MN and have seen all the lakes and ice fishermen on the lakes. The story of these vehicles falling through every spring reminds of of watching some people at the supermarket driving around, and around the parking lot until they find one close enough to the door of the supermarket. Is walking out on the lake pulling a sled, far more prudent than the leisure, and danger of driving a truck out on the lake..
After that car went through the ice and had to be pulled out, they should have done a bit of scouting before taking that much heavier pickup out there. It's nice for the recovery guys though.
Totally wrong, most insurances do provide coverage for this kind of incident, it just depends on if the owner has it in their policy or not, it’s usually under full coverage with omprehensive.
Think the vehicle recovery team and the rig need to undergo some design flaws and techniques. Wonder what it costs to have them come out and pull someone's stupidity outta the lake
Do you mean to tell me you drug out a 198889 Ford F-150? Not only that but videotape it. The truck is is worthless as it was brand new. I'm sure you lost money on the whole deal. Fix or repair daily.
Ice Lake, what is this Lake a free car wash or something, or people in Wisconsin don't know any better? Seem's like a regular thing in your state? I'm thinking that Buying Ice skates, or an Ice Boat? would be far cheaper to fall in with them, than replacing a $30,000 dollar vehicle, aren't there state law's prohibiting this, or are these stolen car that were ditched in the Lake?
David E Reese your not insured on the ice and subject to pollution charges but its your choice a truck like that doesnt even need 10 inches of ice these people just need to wait for thicker ice
David E. Reese I don't know where you're from but people here in Mn. goes through the ice here don't know any better here either. so don't say Wis. drivers are stupid I have lived in Rice Lake, Wis. for year or so in the winter
I have to agree with Allen Hunter. No matter where you live here in WI (like I do) some people wait for the ice to get thicker and other people don't care at all. You just have to use your damn head if you want to loose your new truck or your life
You guys are the kings of vehicle extraction.
That is the best vehicle recovery i have seen. Great job to those guys
That's my good friend doing this.
I am glad they remove the trash from the lake.
Used Ford truck , well taking care of , all fluids changed , interior steam cleaned , must sell ...😏
She be clean as a whistle!
Won't start I think it's flooded
Dale olson ha ha ha ha....like the comment
It probably just has water in the gas.
😂 🤣😂 🤣😂 🤣😂 🤣
I know in Minnesota the minute your vehicle hits the ice you have no insurance, it's null and void. The recovery is not cheap and Minn DNR have hefty fines concerning this.
Totally incorrect about insurance in Minnesota
you can get off road coverage
This happens so often they built this expensive looking rig?
Perhaps it is not obvious to many but I was under the understanding (since childhood) you don't drive on a lake that has open water?
Probably wasn't open water until he fell through it!
my father would never drive our truck on ice. I guess that is why I do not either.
BUT your talking common sense
Do you use bar oil in the chain saw, to cut ice? St.Paul,Minnesota.

Sarah K. Roughly 5k
They winched it out. The tractor then towed it to shore.
@@juan23775 now 11k.
We drive on the ice all the time, there was a river inlet at this exact place where he went through. They tried to brake but slid right in.

Bingo!!
How frigging cool was that. Don't be fishing off the tail gate hahaha or anything else 😉 hahaha I love the view thanks Guys
Amazing how they retrieve vehicles out of the water. I wonder if driving out onto the ice is worth not only the cost of the extraction, but the additional repairs to the vehicle.
Without a doubt. The amount of money ice fishing generates easily makes up for the cost of pulling a few vehicles out each year.
For a second there I thought it was driving away lol
I heard there were some big Muskies in that lake, but isn't that bait a little large?
It is quite a setup for extracting vehicles from the icy lake
Obviously been done enough to justify building such an elaborate rig.
And to think I used to live in Rice Lake years ago
Same here too.
wow , no damage , how much does this cost
Here an idea just put pontoons on your truck and cut out the middle man
Is the frame work of that device all wood? I wonder though if it's prone to spread apart at the bottom with the weight. Weather warms up they could put a floor on it and have a party raft, have a ladder to go up top and dive.
put it in four wheel drive..good job guys.
They figure out a good little system that works
Best of Luck Fishing !
Looked like someone was wearing a cowboy hat in the truck for a sec 2:43
Only in Wisconsin..... hold my cheese watch this
Curious, How much did that cost to pull out?
2 Cases of Canadian!!
and a short arm release. LOL...
Just guessing.....1500 usd
What ever it was it wasn't enough.....
hard to hear what they say with wind blowing across the mic...
Awesome setup. Im looking at doing recovery on rainy lake.
Now I know why Ford has those big tow hooks at the front.
now there is an excellent cold start project
Sheriff Dryden told us yesterday that it costs anywhere from 5-10K to pull it out. Not to mention all the pollution that is contaminating the lake the longer it sits! Not good. It affects all of us!
OOhhh I knnnnooooowwww.....
Is this rice lake Ontario
Wisconsin.
I hope that the fishing trip was worth it. Why would you drive out on a lake with open water.
People are awesome
If it was a Chevy you could have drove it out
I wonder what it costs to have the truck pulled out?
DeaconMike 6 or 7k
So they do that often they need a vehicle recovery float boat????
Wow I would suppose they can charge as much as they want since the truck is totalled and insurance has to pay to get it out of the water.
He will be glad to get that parking work pass back
You know the chance you are taking as you drive out onto the ice.
!

Logic does not enter the brain of a person who drives on a frozen lake. Just call me, Mr No Adventure.
Oh yah! Hold my beer!
I wonder how much they get paid to go into that cold water.
Because so few companies do salvage and the government requires it, said companies can charge whatever they want and you have to pay it.
And how was it to give there?
Holding the chainsaw backwards...watch ur toes lol
Looks like 'vehicle extraction' is having a six figure month.
After that car went through the ice and had to be pulled out, they should have done a bit of scouting before taking that much heavier pickup out there. It's nice for the recovery guys though.
Well atleast the headliner is still good!
Not a Ontario plate
Damn the dollars signs made me cry.
I wonder how much this costs to do
Matt Brad about 3-5k depending on extraction time
That looks like a hard job
Cost or recovery?
500$
It’s a old Ford !they should have just left it there
Well she's clean now der eh?
Well that went as smooth as crap thru a goose....
Look Ma! I got the truck washed!!
$50,000 fish dinner
Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏
F150 for sale. Ran when parked
most insurance companies have the policy that once tour tires hit the ice your coverage is 0 . This is all on the owner out of pocket + fines .
Totally wrong, most insurances do provide coverage for this kind of incident, it just depends on if the owner has it in their policy or not, it’s usually under full coverage with omprehensive.
Wow that worked really good. Bet it wasnt a cheap bill
What an expensive extraction. But truck needs to come out. Someone just wasn't thinking clearly about driving on ice. So sad.
Again???
think they should've just left it. if you don't drive out onto the water you don't have the issue of your truck going through ice.
I would’ve asked, can’t we just call it a reef and break even?
Gotta army buddy from Appleton, (demokrap), that would do something stupid like this. NO. Don't take truck on lake.
Good old wisconsin
Think the vehicle recovery team and the rig need to undergo some design flaws and techniques. Wonder what it costs to have them come out and pull someone's stupidity outta the lake
How about ! DONT DRIVE ON THE ICE
Tpp much wind noise.
Obviously not a professional video company. Desperately needs a wind filter.
This is why you don't loan your pickup!
Makes for a nice commercial for the bobcat company. Towing that nasty Ford at the end.
looks like a Gehl skid steer from the '80s weighs 4000 lbs.
they opened the windows hoping it would sink
They should have let it sunk. They had to cost more to retrieve it!
Tell that Ford driver not to park there anymore.
FORD TOUGH
Didn't know Ford built submarines
all the auto manuf. do, it's a top-secret thing.
Free car wash with every extrication!
Ran when last parked... you won't find another one cleaner.
Better to leave a Ford in the water.
US plates
This was in Wisconsin USA
amazing that they do that for FREE !!
Who said they do it for free?
3000$ for a trailer 6000$ for a car.
klass
That poor f150
stupid is as stupid gets
Now that this truck soaked for awhile it is junk.
Dad! I've
The window is down on the passenger side OH NO!
Paul Yarek Probably to get out
Do you mean to tell me you drug out a 198889 Ford F-150? Not only that but videotape it. The truck is is worthless as it was brand new. I'm sure you lost money on the whole deal. Fix or repair daily.
Freshly washed....... needs wax!

David not only you lose that $30.000 plus the cost of pulling it out which is not cheap anywhere.
ThreatToSociety wasn't even that when new lol
Should have just left it, as if a 20 yr old F150 was worth what it cost to pull up.
