    I bought a 67 Chevelle Malibu two door ht 327 powerglide with very rare factory 8 track w 5 speakers, speed warning indicator ( littl adjustable needle on the speedo) factory AC , cruide control , tilt wheel , very rare walnut steering wheel just like this one ,same black buckets interior , rally wheels 295horse 327 but the original lady owner I bought it from in
    1978 in Pasadena Ca had factory ordered it brand new at the dealer there and didnt order console, so it had a rare 2 sp on the column so it looked odd with buckets no console. This car was garaged from new with 45000 orig miles , cream beige with black interior , comepletlly rust free Cali car in spectacular original condition , I paid 1350 for it and after owning fifty cars , it remains the nicest car I ever owned . Never seen another since so optioned out althoughthis oen comes close. Nice truck!!!!

    Wow, that takes me back. I restored A 67 El Camino in 1985. It was after my buddy wrecked my 70 Chevelle Malibu. I took the motor. Trans, Bucket seats & console from the Chevelle It had A special high-performance 350 & 4 speed transmission. The motor came with A holley 850 double pumper from the factory. Anyway I painted dark green with A lot of metal flake, like the steering wheel. Dam it looked good, then put my favert 10 inch wide Baby Moon wheels with Bfgoodwernch 50 Cearey's tires! I loved that car, O I had A SS hooh on it too. I drove it for About three year's until my first daughter was born and had to make more room. PS it has A good place to smuggle ??? in the bed below the back window!!!!..

    Gorgeous lines on that car! That was a great way to clear the old fuel.

    What a find, congratulations. This is as rare as hens teeth. Most did not survive and are candy coated rust buckets. Hard to understand why the previous owner would let it sit for twenty plus years.
    I would have thought that you might hand turned the crank before first attempt but that's just me. Glad to see you didn't run that gas through. Those old pared points and condenser set up were junk even back in the day. I live in the NW and the selling dealer , Williams and Swanson was located in downtown Renton at third and burnette. They were a Chevrolet Oldsmobile dealer that started back in the 1940's. They were later sold and renamed Good Chevrolet and moved to Grady Way along Interstate 405. The Protecto Plate documentation is gold, not sure why this was a CA smog car. Those present WA plates were issued after the original white and green letter bottom script "WASHINGTON" plates, however you probably know you can permanently register the car with them. Those hubcaps were off of a 1965 Impala SS, your choice of wheels and tire size are spot on and look great. The original date coated Holley for that 350hp is rare and expensive. Qjets are great performance carbs and reliable when properly dialed in. Happy for you, love a rare find like this, enjoy, Peace!

      Bruce the previous owner was the editor of Hot Rod in the late seventies. There is a picture of this car with the Impala hub caps in muscle car magazine in 2004. it was a file photo so not sure when the photo had been taken. The smog pipe manifolds are correct for this engine EW code. It is odd why it was sold new in Seattle area with a smog pump equipped engine.

      I have a 1966 Chevelle convertible that originally came from the Seattle area. I bought it in Cle Ellum 20 years ago and it lives here in Yacolt Washington.

    I watched on one of the shows on hot rods..they tore down two 396 engines one was a 350 horse one was a 375 horse....the guys said there was no difference in the blocks or rebuild parts .that in fact they were exactly the same...

    I would have took the fuel tank out and the sending unit off to visually inspect and clean out the tank. Then blow the gas line out. I know I would have done that because I just did it on my 68’ 😀. I enjoyed the video though, nice car.

    Beautiful machine. Was the horsepower underrated for insurance or did that come later on?

      I just bought a 1966 El Camino 3 weeks ago. It was located in Eugene Oregon. I have a 1966 Chevelle convertible that was sold in Seattle originally. My original car is a 1966 Chevelle too that I’ve had for 43 years now. I’m in Yacolt Washington. There are Chevelles and El Caminos around Washington.

    Wrong hood for a 396

    • @RustyDuckGarage
      @RustyDuckGarage  8 місяців тому

      I believe it is the correct hood. They did not make a Super Sport El Camino in 1967. First year of the Super Sport El Camino was 1968.

    • @casualobserver2305
      @casualobserver2305 8 місяців тому

      @@RustyDuckGarage The 396 cars hood had two parallel humps with grills in them. I didnt say it was a SS…I said it was the wrong hood, Google 67 el camino….then go to images….scan the pictures…you’ll see what I mean. I assure you …it’s the wrong hood. You have a cool car there…just get a BB hood for it if you want it to be “correct”. If not…enjoy it like it is. 👍. If I could post a picture of it on here I’d do it for you.
