    Lyrics:
    You believed.
You believed in movements none could see.
    You believed in me.
    A passionate spirit,
    Uncompromised.
    Boundless and open.
A light in your eyes, then, immobilized.
    Vacant, broken.
Fell at the hands of those movements that I wouldn't see.
Cause it was you who prayed for me so,
What have I done to be a son to an angel?
What have I done to be worthy?
    Daylight dims leaving cold fluorescence.
Difficult to see you in this light.
Please forgive this selfish question, but...
What am I to say to all these ghouls tonight?
    She never told a lie.
    Well might've told a lie,
    But never lived one.
    Didn't have a life.
    Didn't have a life.
    But surely saved one.
    See? I'm alright.
Now it's time for us to let you go.

It's been 7 years since my best friend was murdered, and this songs significance to me changed greatly after his funeral. He was a huge tool fan, it was one of the many things we bonded over. They played this song at his funeral and I knew it would always hit differently from then on. "a passionate spirit, uncompromised, boundless and open" was what we inscribed on the plaque for his memorial bench. Rest in peace Barry, I think about you every day

I remember, they played columbus. Their set included these two songs, I'm sure they havent played them in any other tours. After pt 2 was over maynard just sat down, like baring his soul exhausted him. The rest of band set their instruments down and went to maynard for a group hug. The entire place was grieving with him, so silent, so moving

I've thought this many times. People always say the Beatles were the iconic pioneers of rock music. While I enjoy the Beatles and understand their importance in music history, I think Pink Floyd was something else entirely. Pink Floyd's music has incredibly deep meaning that speaks to the soul. Time is one of my all time favorite songs, every time I listen it I find something new about I love. The ever-ticking clock, the lyrics, and by god that guitar solo... Tool has this same effect on me. They create songs that in my mind just simply relate to what it feels like to be a human.

    You believed.
You believed in movements none could see
    You believed in me.
    A passionate spirit.
    Uncompromised
    Boundless and open.
A light in your eyes, then, immobilized.
    Vacant, broken.
    Fell at the hands of
Those movements that I wouldn't see.
'Cause it was you who prayed for me so
What have I done to be a son to an angel?
What have I done to be worthy?
Day light dims leaving cold fluorescence.
Difficult to see you in this light.
Please forgive this selfish question, but
What am I to say to all these ghouls tonight?
    She never told a lie.
    Well might've told a lie,
    But never lived one.
    Didn't have a life.
    Didn't have a life.
    But surely saved one.

My mother in law died today. Good kind soul, never had much of a life, abused psychologically and physically since early days, exploited and hurt by those who should have protected her, fell sick as a child and struggled with health throughout her life, suffered until the very end, until it was unbearable, mind dazed by allegedly-pain-relieving fentanyl doctors gave her, although she felt that pain through all of that stuff. I dont know if the lyric is "You believed in moments none could see." (Everyone seems to type it out as that) But I like to think of it as "You believed in moments not conceived." Almost as if Maynard fully comprehends the spiritual and close bond between mother and baby during pregnancy. The ultimate feeling of love and compassion. The baby isnt born yet, but becoming a mother is right around the corner. The Mother believing in her full worth becoming a mother to her whole world. The baby is not here yet, but it doesnt little the importance of who I am (mother) and who (he or she) is.
    -
Rose - A Perfect Circle mentions this when he says "my will" my will to live. Making clear as day and showing abruptly, this is my will to live. This proves my meaning and importance. I carry life. I support life. I am needed.
    -

But who knows, all I know is that Tool is amazing and more than a band.

I'm very close with my mom. She and my brother installed my love for music, but over the past 10 years she's been dealing with a lot of health issues, including a TBI from a car accident. A lot changed because of that day and while my wise-ass and empathic mom is still there, it still feels like a part of her died in that accident. But still, I love her the same and that accident did not change her love for us.
Whenever the time comes, I'm planning on getting this quote as a tattoo in honor of my mom:

I had just lost my mother who had been in a semi coma for a week and then when they pulled the plug on her I took some time to look for some music that could help me. When I looked up mother losing music this SOMEHOW came up. However I'm REALLT glad it did. Maynard really put it in perspective how hard it is to lose someone who groomed you into being the person you were meant to be. My mother at the time was the only friend I thought I truly had, and losing her really damaged me. Luckily I have more friends than I could count but never will I forget her or her teachings. And NEVER will I forget the first time I heard this gorgeous collection of melodies put together to help me cope with it. Thank you mom for everything you did for me.

That God was with me and that no one can take any of me away from me. And that this was my house. Don't let anyone take it from you. My Grand mother was used as a slave when she was a child. She was a Angel to me. Never denied me what she could give me. She's out there in the Universe along with others like her. Her own Universe. Create yours and don't let no one else take that from you.
    Ves? Estoy bien, ahora
Es momento de que te dejemos ir.
