The coating was not the "armor peircing" aspect. They were made of relatively hard materials like brass and pointed. The teflon was added to save your barrel from excessive wear.
Would've loved to see some AP 5.7 rounds against this, they're as close as you can get to the "cop killer" bullets. Speed beats armour and they don't come much quicker than the 5.7

I think the Germans figured this out&were the 1st to slant the armor on their battle tanks during WW2.the 75mm Shermans main gun with the short barrels would bounce off the armor at point blank ranges I was told by my late pawpaw who was a USA-Army WW2 Veteran.

The Russians figured out they could get similar performance with less metal by sloping the armor, essentially thickening the armor because of the angle impact. Less armor means lighter tank meaning more speed. The tigers were more powerful, but the t-34 was faster, more maneuverable and more quickly produced.
The edge is also very likely a hardened steel, welded onto the mild steel bucket to prevent the edge of the bucket scraping/breaking stones and being deformed.

Not thicker in a way, actually thicker. There really is more metal in the cross section of sloped armor. And the added bonus is it deforms the round at a slant which also helps.

Thats false, all he used were solf bullets (including the piece o' crap incidiary armor piercing 50cal bullet) the thick edge if made of hardened steel it way harder then the thin side, the edge actually qualifies as tank armor. You need anti armor bullets to get through that (hard bullets) like tungsten core with titanium full matel jacket bullets... Only problem is: A civilian isn't allowed to have such bullets because the go through all the types of body armor yes through even level 4... If bad guys could easily get those bullets then cops and soldiers would start dropping like flies. - But... Black tip is border line armor piercing, its not as good as a tungsten core bullet (i think its either red tip or orange tip) but it is still hard enough to go through.

Ss190 (5.7 AP) is steel tip aluminum core . No tungsten maybe 3% if any. 5.56 Green tip has better armor penetrating abilities than it actually

Thickness of a slanted object is “actual thickness * sin(angle of slant)” so the angle you had it at made it ~1.75x thicker than it actually was

This is why tanks use sloped armor, sloped armor makes the armor “thicker” in a way and a lot harder to penetrate

Not thicker in a way, actually thicker. There really is more metal in the cross section of sloped armor. And the added bonus is it deforms the round at a slant which also helps.

Thats false, all he used were solf bullets (including the piece o' crap incidiary armor piercing 50cal bullet) the thick edge if made of hardened steel it way harder then the thin side, the edge actually qualifies as tank armor. You need anti armor bullets to get through that (hard bullets) like tungsten core with titanium full matel jacket bullets... Only problem is: A civilian isn't allowed to have such bullets because the go through all the types of body armor yes through even level 4... If bad guys could easily get those bullets then cops and soldiers would start dropping like flies.

But... Black tip is border line armor piercing, its not as good as a tungsten core bullet (i think its either red tip or orange tip) but it is still hard enough to go through.
