Trying to say this in the most respectful way possible lol, it’s awesome to see a black man with a rifle(im white) the government hates to see African Americans with rifles but as a gun community we must unite against that! Love the video brother keep up the good work. Dope setup
@@rahsaun1 could be a number of things, but it’s pretty clear they do, one of my best friends was pulled over with his concealed carry had his license and they pulled his gun apart and threw it in the grass. It’s a systemic thing I think unfortunately, if all Americans can stand together it’d be a better place.
Keep up the good work bro. There’s a reason why nearly 3k people have subscribed (including myself) within 3 videos. You can tell that you’ve thoroughly thought through every piece on this build. Would love to see a full kit setup video in the future!
Brother I enjoy your videos, I've been shooting for about 49 years, bolt guns and various semi autos, then AR15 types since 1996 AR10s since 2012 Its refreshing to see an average guy making videos that show his journey. Keep your ethics and drive, you will do great.
On the barrel twist rates, they effect you gun by changing what bullet weight they can optimally stabilize. 1:7 is best for heavier rounds, 1:9 is best for lighter, and 1:8 is the best for really anything in the combat cartridge world. The "1" stands for complete rotations of the bullet and the "8" stands or how many inches it takes to do complete it, so "1:8" means one rotation every 8 inches
Just to piggy back on this. Barrel twist rate and terminal ballistics can be important in certain situations. That usually dictate the barrel length I choose for the duty of the gun.
Just found your site. Great info! The Zion-15 was my first AR as well. Love it! Kept it stock for 2 years before any upgrades besides a sling, light , and optic. Over time I added a Strealight Pro Tac Pro light, Vickers Blue Force Gear sling, Radian Raptor charging handle, 1-6 LPVO (but went back to Holosun 503g with a 3x magnifier), Radian Ambi 45-90 safety, Geissele 2-Stage Trigger, BCM Foregrip, and a set of Magpul Pro 45 degree iron sites. Very recently added a Huwrx muzzle break to use with my 7.62 Ventum suppressor. The only other thing I am adding / changing will be a 4x Trijicon ACOG / Red Dot combo. Very underrated rifle IMO and great advice!
I bought the same exact rifle for my first one. I feel like it was the best AR for the money. I just recently bought another. Went with a MK18 Pistol, just because I wanted one lol. The only thing I’d say about the Zion is upgrad to a Geissele SD3G trigger.
Good shit, very solid setup, very similar to my main rig aswell. I live in rural Carolina and my go to is a sons of liberty 13.7 has b5 furniture, giessle h3 with braded spring, giessle SSAE trigger, giessle sch charging handle, giessle maritime bolt catch, a radian ambi safety. Runnin a primary arms plx-c 1-8 for optic in a unity mount, have a centurion arms extended c4 mlok rail, bcm kag hand stop, with a surefire scout vampire 640 paired with a holoson ls221g and a dead air sand man s with a 5.56 flash hider endcap. Sorry for the long winded comment, just very proud of it. Its been a hell of a rig for me, its even put a few deer in the freezer for me aswell. Keep up the good work and god bless from ole Carolina.
I can tell it took you a couple of years to put that all together. I hope you enjoy it today as much as you did when you finished it. I have something similar but majority of the furniture is Daniel defense but I have a sons of liberty barrel on it with a mid length gas system. Those giessle parts definitely have helped. I have the h3 as well, with a giessle trigger. B5 stock, with primary arms cyclops canted. And a 1 to 6 vortex. Bcm hand rail as well.
@madhatter9861 Hell yeah sounds like a solid rig. I still have that rig as my go to is described with a few upgrades. Ive since gone to a giessle 10.5 inch mk16 mlock rail, a holosun LE321 light/laser/illuminator combo and a side mounted dot on unity mount. Its been awesome, still goin strong. If you want see a pic of it, I have one on my channel at the top, of the more recent setup. God bless and stay dangerous from ole Carolina. 🤙
The OLight explosion was when a tool had a non-recommended battery in the light and in his drooling mouth while looking under a car engine. I’ve had an OLight on my Saint Victor since 2020 no issues. I’ve gone on to rock Cloud Defense Rein WML on my BCM’s.
Love SHTF builds! Nice one ya got there! 💪🏾 Mine personally is a DD Mk 18 upper on an SBR'd Aero X15 lower with BCM lower parts kit, Streamlight Pro-Tac HL-X Pro, Blue Force Gear sling, and a Dead Air Sandman S. for suppression. I do prefer a red dot over an LPVO. So I use an Eotech EXPS2-0 w/G43 magnifier.
Thanks for the video, truly enjoyed the strong content 👍Almost felt like I was taking a rifle training. Yes those Zion been elusive for awhile, but I was able to purchase one in November. Haven't done anything with it yet. Still tinkering with my 1st AR15 which is a Radical. I've replaced the buffer spring, safety switch, charging handle, drop in trigger, muzzle & bcg. Some what a good but low end rifle with alot of upgrades parts. Still not saying the top end but upgraded parts at my pace. I believe in budget friendly but still having a good reliable working AR15. Years ago before the pistol brace ban, I use to see a IWI Zion 12.5" pistol. Back then I wasn't really interested in AR15, like you basically getting into them lately. Keep up the good work 👍
I have a Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24 SFP and it has worked well. I like PA, their SLx 1x Micro Prism is great. I'd like to get their compact PLx 1-8x24 FFP. I also like Vortex, the Vortex Viper Pst 1-6x24 is my favorite LPVO I own thus far. Radian Raptor ambi charging handles, Radian Talon ambi safety set at 45 degrees, Aero Precision M4E1 receiver sets, CMC 3.5lb flat face triggers, and Magpul MOE-K2+ pistol grips are my got-to's on almost all my builds.
Good stuff my guy, hope you keep pumping out content. I'm sure you know, N. GA wildlands club has up to 900yard ranges. Looking forward to your next video
Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing. I have a couple of the BCMs. One in 16” and the other 14.5” P&W. 16” is definitely a solid choice for a do all rifle.
Very nice setup! By far the best value for the money and my absolute minimum for a bet your life on setup. As you mentioned, the Streamlight HLX would be a solid upgrade. I would suggest running an 18650 battery in it though. I look forward to future videos as I'm now subscribed.
I have not taken the opportunity to shoot long distances, but it my goal in 2024 to stretch out my abilities. IWI is a rifle I have recommended to people whom have asked, it is a solid platform. Looking forward to future content!!!
The only thing I recommend and I'm sure someone else has as well have a backup sight system. Doesn't matter if it's a red dot or back up iron's. Midwest industries has a great set of front and rear flip up iron sights.
Midlength is the most common for 16 inch. 1450cmv with a chrome lining is also one of the most common barrel material combos. For good reason. Very good durability and corrosion resistance.
I love your videos man. Reminds me of myself now getting more into guns. Can’t have everything I want but love everything I can get. The only thing I would change is the sad music in the back 😂 keep it going bro can’t wait for the next video🦾
12.5” middy monobloc SBR in a Mega Arms ambi billet receiver set with a Dead Air Sandman K and a Romeo 8T & Sig Juliet 5 Micro on Unity mounts is my ideal GTW/WROL/SHTF setup for the realistic engagement distances in my geographical area (PNW). 12.5” is also a good barrel length for a 1-6 SFP LPVO like a Vortex Razor Gen 2E, an Elcan SpecterDR 1-4, ACOG/RMR stack, or an EOtech & magnifier. 12.5” is such a versatile length and it is just long enough to run a mid length gas system.
First video I’ve seen of yours. Honestly feels like I met my brown patriot twin! God bless you man. I’m going to subscribe and check out your other content.
It is refreshing to hear that you did your research and still plan on changing the light. Try the Streamlight Pro-tac 2.0 candela and lumens are fairly high...without the surefire price. Good info and review, sir.
Just found you today, I’m in N.E Georgia myself. Keep doing you bro. Man when I started really getting into shooting, all I had for 2 years was 100 yards but I practiced every day at 100, first time I shot at 500 yards I shot a half inch group. Practice is everything
@@ConcreteCowboyx also wanted to mention I like ambi charging handle’s because it makes it easier for me to use my left hand to push the bolt catch while using my right to pull the bolt back (I love the Radian bolt catch/release) Also great choice on the mags (imho), I use gen 3 Pmags & Duramags & like the option of aluminum or stainless steel with the Duramags.
Very nice rifle. Your setup is very similar to my GPR. Mine is all Aero. M4E1 upper and lower receivers. 16” stainless .223 Wylde barrel, 1:8” twist, mid-length gas, SPR profile. B5 furniture. 15” Atlas S-one rail. Streamlight polytac mounted in Arisaka ring mount on left side. Nickel-boron Aero BCG. Primary arms SLX Nova in a Warne MSR QD mount. MBUS for backup irons. Griffen Armament taper mount minimalist 3 prong flash hider (for Recce 5 can). Geissele G2S trigger. This was my first serious rifle. It obviously isn’t the the most kitted out, high speed blaster out there, but I too thought about what I needed and the overall purpose. It still gets shot more than any other rifle I own and I trust it to do what built it to. At this point, I’m going to have to rebarrel soon and I’m going to go with the Ballistic advantage Hanson 5.56 barrel. My current barrel is too heavy. Btw, I run a Streamlight protac rail 2 with the provided pressure pad on my 11.5” gun. Buy with confidence, it’s a great light.
Just a couple words brother. I like your candor. You don't count or cater to the trolls. And that's good. One light you might want to consider and this one is not real Gucci is a Streamlight polytac. Practically indestructible and does not take a back seat to anything that cost five times as much. Tip the butt your rifle rocks. You don't get hung up on brand names and trends. You doing a great job my man keep up the training.
Just came across your channel. Now subscribed, like you, I opted for the 16 inch barrel as my first rifle. I've been at this for a few years on a budget as well. Looking forward to more vids.
+1 for going to a Streamlight. They just dropped the HLX Pro which has 50k candela. That pair with a Samsung button top 18650 is solid. Plus you have the tape switch mounts from cloud or Shaffer machine etc which the o light has zero aftermarket support for
Great video, nicely done, common sense driven. My creds: 16 years USMC infantry, combat veteran. Marksmanship rifle/pistol Instructor. Currently Class F shooter. Also just subscribed……look forward to seeing what else yo are doing
I have Daniel defense ,BCM, M&Ps, Springfield Saint Victor a couple Aero Precisions ive built with their best parts available and of all of those my IWI Tac 12 (12.5 inch)Pistol is the one leaned up beside my bed...the 1:8 barrel twist means it will stabilize 55 ,62 and 77 grain good and the Mid Length gas system means its going to shoot alot smoother and not beat up your internal parts up as bad or as quickly as a carbine length system. In fact i totally got away from anything with a carbine length gas system. The IWI is a really good gun at a really good price point.
You did it right man my first was a stainless 18inch and bout 2k rounds so far and still sub moa psa barrel. 16inch is awesome just make sure to buy spare gas tube, bolt, and gas rings
solid build, love it. yeah, light is the only thing I would want to further upgrade but you've already got that handled. arasaka is my current favorite for lights right now but they are pricey at around $300. keep up the good work man
About slings, try Savotta. Inexpensive and for me they work the best. You can choose thin, thick or sth in between. Or one where you can move padding around
Hey bro where in ATL area can you shoot your rifle at 400yds? I live in Henry county and it seems unless you have/ know someone with land you can’t shoot past 100yds. I’m itching to stretch the legs of 556 past just 100. Also great stuff so far. I enjoy your level headed approach!
Take you for sharing the build. Run the PA 1-6 NOVA LPVO with a 45 degree mounted pistol RDS. The RDS is a great asset especially for those rapid 25 yards and in shoots.
Dude thats a solid rifle. Especially for your first. Most people will put together 2 or 3 garbage ars before they get a winner like that one. You have the right idea when you say youd rather build a new one. A lot of people chase down the "one rifle to do everything" rabbithole and just waste money. Heres my advice and a few products i highly recommend. Do a 10.5 or 11.5 gun if money isnt a concern or just a 13.9 upper if you are on a budget. I wouldnt replace the olight unless you really hate the button/pad. Go with a holosun 403 or sig romeo5 and put it in a reptilia mount. Lower1/3 if you plan on getting a magnifier eventually or 1.93 if you just want it slick. Triggertech duty/ competitive are my favorite triggers hands down. For a 10.5 and 13.7 id get a psa premium/ sabre chf complete upper For 11.5 id look at the ba premium Hanson profile barrels. After that id start an spr asap
Before you buy the streamlight please check out a Cloud Defensive Rein 3.0 micro. I know they are a little pricey but I assure you that you’ll only have to buy once and they are rock solid and you will own it for decades maybe even the rest of your life.
Love your channel bruh. Not to many black people out there doing good content. I live in alaska and always feel like I'm the only black person here who's into this stuff. My SHTF build is a 11.5 SBR I'm working on right now lol
Dude I totally feel that. We don’t have a ton of representation in this niche which is so confusing. Everyone is super chill in the gun world and I’ve always felt welcome. I really want to build an SBR as well!
I believe everyone’s first rifle should be 16” too. Then if you want another I like a 12.5”. The 12.5” is my overall favorite barrel length easily has the velocity to make lethal hits to 300yds and technically even farther but 300yds it starts shedding energy quickly. If I’m anticipating ranges inside 300yds I’m grabbing the 12.5” because I like shooting suppressed and my suppressor on a 16” turns it into a musket lol. Just too long and awkward for me. The suppressor on my 12.5” makes it the same length as a 16” with a flash hider. I pretty much strictly use primary arms optics. I love the acss reticle it makes getting quick hits at distance. Spend a little time zeroing it and truing the bdc you can get hits consistently out to 600yds fast. Olights are good for the money as are the streamlights that’s exactly what I started with but over the years I’ve upgraded to surefire scout lights on most my rifles. Like the mission first tactical minimalist stocks or magpul sl both are very light weight and lockup nice for the money. Daniel defense and bcm stocks usually fit a little more snug on the buffer tube but cost a little more. If you want a really good budget trigger the rock river 2 stage varmint or larue mdt are freaking awesome and under $100. If you’d rather a single stage the hyper fire dmr or sharpshooter are good and also under $100.
Awesome video..keep it up bro! I’ll give you one piece of advice. Your chest rig you have a large GP pouch on your right side. It seems bulky and may impede your draw. I noticed that your left side has a smaller GP pouch. If you switched them it might help. Idk if you’re having trouble with it or not. It’s just something I noticed. Also I’m speaking on my own experience I am left hand pistol right hand rifle and it helps me a lot if I keep my left side as clear as possible.
I have a Protac HLX with an Arisaka off set mount it puts the light tight to the rail. Also have a Cloud defensive Light Control System (LCS) it has a section that the cord runs in. With this set up it makes everything virtually snag proof. Take care & GOD Bless. 👈😎👉
I have a 13.7 barrel from solgw.. no complaints at all. Gassed perfect. Around 3:30-4 without a suppressor and 3:00 with my dead air nomad 30. Looking to get a K suppressor to save on overall length. Love my 13.7 -13.9 length
I've really been looking at that 13.7 length. Kind of jealous haha but this is some good inspiration going into my next build. Definitely want to start tampering into the suppressor world.
@@ConcreteCowboyx yeah you gotta get a 13.7. I feel like for my body type 6’2 it’s the perfect length. And velocity to an 16in isn’t much of a drop off. Also, depending on the suppressor it can add a few more fps
New sub. Wanted to know your thoughs on 300 blkout being a good cartridge for do all/shtf. The more I consider it the more I feel like it's better than a pistol but not better than 556 for general purpose. Would you rather run a 10.5" 300 blk or a 556 in the same length or slightly longer?
Good vid bro, couple of suggestions, long term you may never care, BUT When ya go Streamlight get an Arisaka mount..that will suck it down to the rail at that 11oclock posititon...solid choices I only run duramags and ASC...both perfect-- and you can use 6 mag USGI BANDOLIERS (OCP)... perfection, #2 GO GET A SUPPRESSOR...

@@isaacsieg Agreed on all points. Great to see it in the community and it's happening more and more. 2A community transcends color and I love that!

I picked up an IWI Z15 a few months ago. It's great.
You made a great choice!
Nice rifle. I like how you present yourself. Would recommend the streamlights. Subbed.
the new HLX pro is a very good budget light, highly recommend it
Nice build, personally running a PSA with a RIS II and LPVO and it hasn't failed me yet
Now that sounds like a cool build!
Good to see Dirty Civilian being represented with such good content, great work, subscribed.
MOCS (Mission Oriented Combat Shooter) Instructor, Combat Marksmanship Instructor, STA Surveillance & Target Acquisition Platoon OR (Scout Sniper platoon) 3/5, STA platoon 1/5, Combat Marksmanship Instructor, Machine Gun Leaders Graduated, Post and Service Rifle Team Camp Pendleton Base, WFTBN MCRD Shooting Team, State of AZ Shooting Team, National Guard AZ Shooting Team.
16inch is awesome just make sure to buy spare gas tube, bolt, and gas rings
dont stop making content bro! loved this video so much! keep it going! subbed
Definitely a nice setup solid choice on the IWI, 1:8 twist is the best option in my opinion
solid build, love it. yeah, light is the only thing I would want to further upgrade but you've already got that handled. arasaka is my current favorite for lights right now but they are pricey at around $300. keep up the good work man
Very enjoyable and informative video’s devoid of any bs, thank you. I look forward to more.
Great video sir. Keep up the good work. Please make more videos of your future builds for us to follow along
I have this same setup too. Only difference is my rattle can paint job is more coyote and od green
About slings, try Savotta. Inexpensive and for me they work the best. You can choose thin, thick or sth in between. Or one where you can move padding around
I’m pretty sure most people hang out in the budget to mid tier range. Keep up the good work. Subscribed!
Same I'm in Buford, outside of friends who have land I don't know anywhere else.
Take you for sharing the build. Run the PA 1-6 NOVA LPVO with a 45 degree mounted pistol RDS. The RDS is a great asset especially for those rapid 25 yards and in shoots.
Subbed. Thank you for being a voice for our community
12.5 IWI Zion is the way to go. Runs like $900, shoots like a $1600 rifle.
Don’t know how I found your channel but glad I did. Keep up the work love seeing us do gun reviews 💪🏾🫡
Keep up the good work man watched your edc and now this! Earned a Sub.
Good shit. Look forward to continuing to see you grow.
I have a 14.5 pinned and welded M4A1 I enjoy very much
Dude thats a solid rifle.
For a 10.5 and 13.7 id get a psa premium/ sabre chf complete upper
For 11.5 id look at the ba premium Hanson profile barrels.
After that id start an spr asap
I’m thinking about building one after watching this video. Thanks for all the knowledge you’re putting out there for us noobs
Lol you’re not a noob, I was new to the gun world at one point as well
Great video, informative and to the point. Earned a sub. Keep the content coming
@ConcreteCowboyx Bruh you aint lying. Do you have a FB page or anything ill send you some pics of my SBR when it's finished bro.
I’ve been looking for an optic for my scout rifle and I think I found it def subscribing
Beautiful rifle. You did a good job that paint job.
Nicely done man! Love the rifle, and I enjoyed the video. You earned yourself a sub.
Yo I really appreciate that man! I’m just making this stuff for fun
New Sub. here Great Video!!! Love the rifle and great advice .. thank you from Idaho
Good content. I’m in GA too and was looking for a outdoor range. Which one do you recommend/attend?
Loving the content man! I’m personally running a lpvo on my build. Keep up the good work💯
GOOD im running that same optic on an ADM mount
Great looking rifle. Just subbed and looking forward to your next build.
I have a Protac HLX with an Arisaka off set mount it puts the light tight to the rail. Also have a Cloud defensive Light Control System (LCS) it has a section that the cord runs in. With this set up it makes everything virtually snag proof. Take care & GOD Bless. 👈😎👉
I had my BCM foregrip pointing that way bc it's more comfortable when hand over barrel. But ppl kept telling me it was backwards.
Im in cali,I got a PSA 16 and a Frankenstein 11.5 that 11.5 is my baby.
It’s very doable to get distance with you 16” with 55 gr. I’ve gone out to 675 with 14.5 m4 mod1 with 1-8 strike eagle ffp with 55
From North Ga. Much love. Keep the videos coming.
Most relatable gun video I’ve ever seen. Just hit the subscribe button
I’ve always had good luck with the phosphate carpenter steel less bolt head leaks
I have a couple of sure fire weapons lights. They are great but overpriced. I’m going to try out the new holosun light when it comes out.
Great video i don’t know how to build a rifle so i went and bought a spear lt 11.5
Solid. My wife has a Z15. Great gun. I love the camo on yours. How’d you do that?
Love my PA lpvo. I'm interested to see how that mount holds up, I recall seeing posts of some people breaking them.
Awesome setup got one just like this with a few different things on it Zion is a great gun
Great first for a majority of people for sure. Thanks for watching 💪
New sub. Wanted to know your thoughs on 300 blkout being a good cartridge for do all/shtf. The more I consider it the more I feel like it's better than a pistol but not better than 556 for general purpose. Would you rather run a 10.5" 300 blk or a 556 in the same length or slightly longer?
"My 2nd home is the gym" 🙌🏿 respect
❤❤❤liked n commented 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. I worry that sling strap retainer would get in the way of a reload😢😢😢😢😢
You sound very confident and clear. Should do great with public speaking. Great job.
Good vid bro, couple of suggestions, long term you may never care, BUT
When ya go Streamlight get an Arisaka mount..that will suck it down to the rail at that 11oclock posititon...solid choices
I only run duramags and ASC...both perfect-- and you can use 6 mag USGI BANDOLIERS (OCP)... perfection,
#2 GO GET A SUPPRESSOR...
Good vid man. How do you feel about dot and magnifier setups on 16inch guns or like PA prism scopes
ive got the same rifle. loving it
