Three times the price of a Lanshan 1 Plus (double skinned, so better in our weather) which you can get for £101 right now. It's only 115g lighter. 5000mm HH on the Lansha, 2000mm on the Illusion. Needs to be fully seam sealed vs three small points that need it on the Lanshan 1. This is not a Lanshan killer in my opinion.
I had Lasnhan 1 Plus and its much better in my opinion + double walled. Even Hex Peak seems a better one with massive vestibule. I can get X-Mid and MLD Duomid for the price of that tent lol which are infinitely better.
not sure Id use the Lanshan 1 as a comparison - it sits more in the Lanshan Pro realm due to single skin. All valid points. I own a X-mid and MLD and i think thats comparing apples to pears. Weight is king on this one. Thanks for sharing I value all opinions.
Agreed. That's definitely and objectively not a Lanshan killer. The whole point of the Lanshan is to bring a decent lightweight tent to small budget hikers. If it's just to say it's a better tent, sure. There are tons of tents better than the Lanshan. Just not for the same price.
Awesome tent, used mine on the WHW and was faultless. Didnt absorb water like my mates Lanshan 1 pro. Will say got mine last year before prices went up so only paid £50 more than lanshan 1 pro at the time.
Slick vid. I'm liking that pack and the tent...I'm thinking of a tent along those lines towards the end of the year. Thanks for making and sharing. ATB. Mark
Yeah, i my prefer my Illusion Solo to the 2021 Lanshan 1 I had: 1. Much better made. The stitching on mine is flawless, about the same quality as the Anaris I own. 2. Siliconised fly, over PU; much more stable. 3. Poly fly (this honestly is what i wanted to try). It really does sag a hell of a lot less than nylon when wet. 4. Better vent design than the lanshan 1 imo, and either can be opened or shut separately in driving rain. 5. Seems to be better with condensation/ventilation than my old lanshan 1. 6. I like the trekking pole cup on the fly. Hilleberg do this with the anaris. However: It is single wall, so whatever condensation you get is in yer kipper unlike in a double wall tent. But having a double wall does intrude into interior space, obviously. And the ground sheet could do with pegging guys, imo. But the width of the interior you get when you angle the pole correctly is bonkers.
@@thegeordiewildcamper you'll 100% get feedback on your feedback too, the guy I dealt with (I believe the owner of the company) is really on the ball with customers. He contacted me after my order asking if I'd also meant to order one paying in euro (I like an imbecile thought UKR currency was euros at first). Good shout for anyone who wants one and is in the UK actually; it's better to order in Ukrainian hryvnyab because you may have to pay for a double-conversion otherwise.
Love that coast. Was down on monday. Not many place to pitch off the path which is probably why its hasnt been mobbed by now. Looked like a canny tent and I actually like the colour. I'm waiting on the new tarptent to arrive, looking foward to trying it out. Thanks for sharing
@thegeordiewildcamper Vango Apollo 500 dome. It's 5 birth with smallish vestibule. We have a larger Vango 500, too, which gives for more lounge luxury. We have 2 basic 3 birth too and a 6 birth Olpro. That's rather big with just one bedroom. clipped in.
like the Sorting hat tent, but no four season inner offering in there line up by the looks of it. pack is cool too. Did you get it directly from the states?
yeah not quite sure it would stand up to the elements of 4 season however may do a job if needed. Yeah direct from the states for the pack. Im currently testing this out for Seek Outside with a view to provide some feedback and a review!
Cracking location Steven , tent I’m not so sure it’s a lanshan killer 😂 or maybe I’m just biased towards the my lanshan lol . Still a good run out for it in a proper viewpoint for a camp . Atb Dave ⛺️👍
haha yeah im inclined to agree...although I do like it better than the Lanshan Pro...needs a bit more testing but for thru-hiking this is ideal. Cheers for watching Dave
Looked like a good spot, and a nifty little tent! Guessing for a bit more weight your X-Mid would be a bit more comfortable an option in most circumstances though?
Amazing area, love the Cleveland Way - Wainstones area is lush too - there's an ultra every year called the Hardmoors 110 which does the whole thing in 36 hours or less, something to consider haha
Nah, you have to seal it yourself: don't think Liteway offer the sealing for extra either, but they're a) a cottage company b) in Ukraine, so I can understand why they don't. I love mine tbh.
crazy prices from Ukraine by the time you add import duty & VAT! considering it doesn't offer any real advantages that I see over other comparitive brands.

After 2000hh it's waterproof. Rest is just marketing

Actually I correct myself. I think even after 1500hh it is considered waterproof
Agreed.

yeah id say the quality on these are miles better than the lanshans but that comes at a cost!
Love your vids mate. Always watch without fail.
Legend!

youve naailed it. exactly what i would have described. I have provided feedback to Liteway who are always looking to improve design.

Plenty space in this one - if i wanted maybe a bit more vestibule room the X-mid may be the choice. Cheers
Great location and very interesting tent.. especially in black. Not your usual colour. Loved the vid. Subscribed!
thank you and appreciate it!
Is there any channels left out there not trying to sell us something?

Looks a canny tent , does it come seam sealed ? Or like the rest do you have to do a home jobby!! Lol , good vid btw 👍

I must have missed the part where you say what tent this is?

If I didn’t have a lanshan 2 already…..
Enjoyed the vid though 👍
Cool, thanks

I think this is much better quality that some of the lanshan products - but each to their own..
I’m just gonna watch this again. Tent looked awesome views cracking too. Welcome back to the champions league 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it! and thanks mate
Weight is not the most important thing....
