The only tent I've pitched in lockdown was when the trouble and strife came out the shower and her towel fell off. It went up surprisingly quickly! I told the missus it was made for two people, but she thought it looked a bit small. No problem though, I went solo and was more than satisfied. Keep making the videos Hazy, it's nice just to see you. Me and some friends who haven't done anything for ages are planning a little camping trip when lockdown ends, all inspired by you. I love both tents, I have both tents. For the money they are unbeatable value. I used my Lanshan 1 when I walked the C2C but the Lanshan 2 is for me and my lovely dog when we go off a wandering:)
i bought the lanshan 2 last year, and have been out in it twice one was on a 500 mtr hill in strong winds, and withstood what it was given,45mph id guess, its a awesome tent in my eyes. i bought a four season inner for it, again from ali express, it has less mesh about halfway down and has no seeum mesh to about half way up, £55 its even lighter than the three season inner, but havent tried it out proper yet, awesome videos keep them coming mate,
Great you mentioned the lack of seam taping. The Lanshan 1 is notorious for letting water in, mainly at the anchor points in the centre of the end panels.
I really like my Lanshan. Great tent that ticks all the boxes for me. I'm not a summit dwelling wild camper and like to tuck myself into the glens and nooks and cranny's . Great video. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for making the time to make this comparison video! Greatly appreciated. Loved the ending for those during lockdown who got lost and were bored 🤣
I’ve got these two but the other way round! Got the 1 pro and the normal 2. Gotta say I’m with you there, also in the the one pro condensation is crazy! Great vid buddy, stay safe Ash
I used the Lanshan 2 for my 2019 Appalachian Trail thru-hike of 2200 miles, it was excellent and handled all weather from torrential rain, very high winds and snow (although it wasn’t a heavy snow fall). My only problem on a few occasions (considering I was camping in wooded areas) was that it has a large footprint so I always needed a fairly large area to set it up. That said, I would really recommend it as it was weatherproof, rarely suffered from condensation and was very very roomy.
Lanshan 1 Pro I fit well at 6 foot. I also have the 2 "standard" for more relaxed hiking. The 1 Pro is absolutely amazing for all day hiking where as you'd said, you are just sleeping at the end of the day. Lay down, some phone time, listen to music, kindle etc. is about all can do. But the weight saving and faster setup are worth it I think. The 2 is really great if just doing something like an overnight a shortish distance and wanting to spend time in the tent or just to feel more relaxed, if you're expecting rain and to be stuck inside etc.
Loves my Lanshan 2 i have it in two colors including the Khaki color ... its my go to tent. I also have the Lanshan 1 and top tip , you can improve the living space inside by using your other pole or some sticks to pull out the side walls ... its hard to describe here but theres a couple of you tube tutorials on this (i did one as well ... sorry for the mooch) it really helps with keeping the inner off your face which can be so annoying. I will be interested in seeing your experience with the Pro regarding condensation. Theres been a couple of reported incidents of condensation dropping off the tent in a cold hammering rain... but this is the case with the Z packs tents as well... so dont forget to take the ol 'Shamwow' with you! sorry you folks back over the pond are in such a hard lockdown... hopefully things will get back to normal soon. looking forward to your future adventures with the lanshan in tow... atb Dave Mc
Finally bought a Lanshan 2 Pro today off a fella here in the UK and being impatient don't want to wait till next week, never mind waiting on one from Aliexpress, can't wait to get out in it and hopefully use it to walk WHW for my first long distance trail. 😁
The 60s and 70s deigns all coming back, that shape of tent was the first one I ever camped in with my dad, 50 years ago!, just shows fashion (not the technology) is a circular thing Paul
I love my 1 pro. It has a surprising amount of room in it and even though some folks complain about ventilation, by changing pitch heights and vestibule opening, you can actually get a lot of ventilation in it.
‘Rams head clip’. If you put the loops over both horns (as it were!) it secures them from coming off - in the wind for instance. Great for pegging lines on tarps. Been using them on Exped kit for years.
Blimey.. what a great review.. I had the Lanshan 1 but immediately realised it was not for me Head Feet touched the sides.. I am 5'11".. Sold it for what I bought it for thankfully.. but I loved the design and now this.. seems the perfect warm weather tent.. great review btw will check out your others..
I have the non pro lanshan 2 with 4 season inner, I tied the footprint to the corner pull-out points of the inner, all goes in bag in one and quicker to pitch.
Id love to know what differences you notice between the pro and non pro versions? The chinglish on AliExpress makes it really hard for me to tell the difference
@@weka6533 the pro is bigger inside because it does not have an inner tent. The pro is a single skin. Hope that helps there are you tube vids comparing both if you look around.
Lansham 1 PRO is a nice comprimise. Bigger than the Lansham 1 without being the same size as the 2. There's a nice trick you can do with the guy lines where you pitch it out over a branch or your second walking pole and it will give you more height over the head or feet.
Lanshan 2 (non pro) user here. Absolutely top dollar tent. If you have your finger over the buy button, just do it. JY Outdoor Equipment shop on AliExpress are very well thought of.
Ahhhhh Mr Haze, I had the 2 pro for Crimbo and spent 2 nights in it. Love the ease of set up and the luxurious space. I thought it would be love at first sight but....the condensation drove me mad 😠. I’ve just ordered the 2 with 4 season inner and have more confidence that this will be the perfect abode. Looking forward to seeing some vids with you doing an overnighter to see what you think of the waterfall effect in the morning. Keep em coming lad.
How did you find the Lanshan 2 in comparison with the pro? And did you seam seal the pro before using it in the rain? I can't decide between the two which one to buy, so any feedback is much appreciated 😁👍
