I was walleye fishing at a spillway in New York during fall (early November, 2014). I started jig fishing in the afternoon under full sunlight, jigging a 1/8 oz. black curly tail jig at first, and a pike or musky cut me off right away. I worked a variety of bucktail jigs after, mostly teasing them along, and hooked into and landed the big walleye (28", over master angler size) that I've been hunting for all fall on a black and brown bucktail jig. Later, I ended up catching a quality northern pike (33"-36") on the same bucktail jig, but it slipped out of my arm and fell back in the water before I could measure it and hold it up to the camera. I also caught a couple smaller bass and walleye before the bite tapered off.
This is one of many videos in the Lure Fishing series -- watch others for triple-digit numbers of fish, trophy fish, the tips and techniques I pick up along the way, and more!
