    “The meaning of life is that it stops.” - Franz Kafka

    • @Ruylopez778
      @Ruylopez778 4 роки тому +3

      @Im a Guy Anything you choose to do or be is a decision, and with a finite life, there are a finite number of decisions to make, making each decision relevant. Not to mention that many actions or decisions have consequences that cannot be changed.
      If life was infinite, then each of those decisions becomes, essentially meaningless, since there is time to experience everything.

    • @Ruylopez778
      @Ruylopez778 4 роки тому +2

      @Im a Guy Not really. While we can find purpose and fulfilment in life, we can't ever know its 'meaning' IMO - simply because we lack context, and constantly lie to ourselves. If a precise meaning of life could be spoken in words [which it probably can't] it would probably be too profound for us to truly understand and accept. Sure we could probably agree or disagree on a surface level, but we wouldn't have enough context.
      "Life can only be understood backwards" etc.
      Decisions are meaningless if we have time to choose everything. Therefore death gives our life meaning. Whether our decisions and actions are conscious, positive, negative, ambivalent, accidental....
      Life is only precious because of death.
      And it is a paradox that we don't really appreciate youth until it has gone, and we can't appreciate what it was until we have lost it.
      Just like summer and childhood appear fleeting when they have finished, but endless when we are in the middle of them.
      I agree with the Kafka quote, although I think this quote is intentionally succinct - and as such the meaning is perhaps don't worry too much about meaning, since life is short.

    I’ve thought a lot about the meaning of life and I kept crashing into nihilism. The breakthrough was understanding that this life is not a journey towards a destination but rather is a ride, and the meaning of life, what we are supposed to do, is to enjoy this ride as much as we can. This means living the life you want, doing the things you enjoy doing etc and realising that life is fundamentally good.

      TruEuphoria I don’t see this as a breakthrough , if you know you will eventually die and everything you have done is meaningless , then these random chemicals that cause the feeling of joy are all just a mirage that will fade away , and you can’t enjoy anything , i found the meaning of life in eternity , as long as there is something eternal then everything we do that affects eternity is meaningful , and the only eternal reality is God himself , so God was my breakthrough , and when i first experienced him truly not just as religious acts that i did , it flipped my world . I asked him and he listened.

    The kind of "answer" I found for myself to these questions (although it´s not really satisfying at all)...: humans tend to want an explanation for everything...it´s in our nature to seek to understand the world... yet, there is so much left unknown... so, the purpose of life (for me) is life itself... to experience every facette that comes with being human... to feel and live through all the emotions (positive, as well as negative)... and if that answer doesn´t satisfy me in some moments, I just think about the nature and the beauty of it all... the way the sun shines, the wind feels on the face, the light shining through trees, the changing of seasons and all the complexity of nature... a tree probably wouldn´t ask itself why it´s there... what´s it purpose is... the purpose is: to just BE :) maybe this helps someone... :)

    I do have to say, on the contrary I think your belief systems can really make you have more to confront in life. I don’t think it makes anything easier. When you’re just going with the flow of society is when things are easy. When you live by a set of values or beliefs it causes you to stand out from the crowd which often brings on a lot of people questioning you because seeing someone doing things differently than the social norms makes people uncomfortable, it makes them look at themselves. I find once people learn that you’re different they often will challenge your values or beliefs to try to find holes it in to make themselves feel better about what they’re not doing. Long comment but I just had to say I’ve had a drastically different experience than what you’ve described.

    • @Littletony525
      @Littletony525 4 роки тому +9

      I would say once you decide your values don't align with norms it then becomes harder to conform to those norms than just be who you naturally are. If you beliefs don't align with what your doing it is hard and at that point it because easier to not conform because you won't feel guilt for not doing what you truly want

    • @niwaleaf
      @niwaleaf 4 роки тому +6

      imadieflyin I could see that being a problem. It does make you question if you should just conform or stick to what you know is right for you. Then I suppose it all falls on what kind of person you are, are you a person who sticks to your guns and follows what you know is right or do you let it go so that things will be easy.

      aston dias I would recommend not getting a degree in it. Instead what you should do is take some online training. Nothing too time consuming, just something effective. Employers would always take the person with a lot of work experience over the person who has a degree. Just do online stuff, dedicate yourself to learning the programs inside and out, and look for a job.

    • @evangrady3711
      @evangrady3711 4 роки тому

      aston dias sure! I would say that you should always stick with Adobe apps. The way that I learned the most is actually through UA-cam. And a ton of practice of course, but youtube has some great tutorials on different techniques and tools that you would have never known exist. Graphic design can be many different things. It can be extreme photo manipulation, logo designs, clothing designs, illustration, etc. I would recommend sticking to one program. (Photoshop CC 2020 or illustrator 2020) once you have mastered the program and have nothing left to learn, move on to the next program. I did this process until I mastered every app adobe makes (20+) along with a few other apps from different companies. It is definitely very time consuming, but there are tons of jobs and ways to profit off of these skills. Web design is a huge one. If you would like to message me further my number is (661)858-9033 hope this helps!

    The word for this world in Arabic is "Dunya", which means the "temporal world", or literally "lower". The reason why this word "Dunya" is used to describe this world in Arabic is because this world is a temporary, lower world. We could all try and achieve happiness in this world, but ultimately, as you rightly point out, we will all die eventually. What then could we aim for that is greater than merely the moment. That is where God comes in. In acknowledgement not only of Gods mere existence, but his absolute power, knowledge, generosity, compassion, and mercy, and so on, you begin to be able to fulfil your own potential, as a more conscious human being, a human being who lives with intelligence, humility, and kindness, in the world, and always has the next, more perfect, eternal world, in his mind. Which can only be rewarded, by God...
